Mariota Week 15 @ KC

Yeah, it makes me cringe, but i'll probably be benching Delanie since I think this will be a tough game of Mariota.

Unless you have Kelce this is probably a bad move. Who knows, I've been wrong before but Walker should have a decent outing even if (and when) Mariota struggles.

Brate's my other option, and I know KC has been really stingy against TE's all season. Do you think Johnson's injury changes this matchup though?

I'd go with Flacco. He's been playing really well and tends to play great when the games get big this time of year. MM has played well but playing him against the KC defense is very very risky IMO. They have a great ball hawk in Berry and playing in KC is one of the toughest places to play in the league. Couple that with Baltimore playing at home with their playoff lives on the line and there is no way I play a guy on the road against perhaps the best secondary in football with Houston coming off the edge at home, in the cold, and in a stadium where MM won't be able to hear a thing so line calls will be impossible.

It's either Mariota or Stafford for me... I'm rolling with Mariota... KC is middle of the pack as far as matchups go against QB's so I think Mariota bounces back!

That's a tough call. If Stafford's finger was a few more weeks on the mend I may go with him but not a week after. Both are tough calls but that situation I would probably risk MM also.

UPDATE: It's going to be 3 degrees in KC. 3 friggen degrees. I'm not starting anyone in that game except KC's defense. That game is going to be ridiculously cold. I don't know if MM has ever been in that kind of weather let alone play in it. They may not be able to catch a frozen ball let alone throw it.

The coldest game Mariota has played in was against Oregon State his last year in college, around 40 at kickoff and dipping down to the 20s. He threw for 367 yards and 4 TDs. This will be quite a bit colder, but to be honest I'd worry more about KC's secondary smothering the Titans' receivers and the chance for a similar gameplan to last week against Denver - heavy on the rushing, not a lot of passing. I think those will be a bigger factor than the cold.

there's some kind of weather, injury, coach issue, or some other storyline type of reason for why i shouldn't play around half my players. i already screwed up sitting powell when i saw forte was declared active.

i'm almost more wary of overthinking these situations than i am of the situations themselves...
