Ramhock
The below is just an example: Lamar Miller - RB - Houston TexansPosted 12/23/16 1:59pm ET Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) is listed as questionable to play in the team's Week 16 game Saturday, Dec. 24, versus the Cincinnati Bengals. Huddle Up: Yikes, this is a pretty difficult situation for fantasy owners, with Houston slated to play after most other teams this weekend. Considering Miller hasn't practiced all week, he appears to be a true game-time decision, so owners should certainly rush to the waiver wire for Alfred Blue's services as a handcuff if he's available, just in case. Of course, considering Miller hasn't missed a game since his rookie season in 2012, there's still hope the former Dolphin suits up. _______________________________________________________________________ Really? At what point do you test you entire roster. Isn't that an integral part of our hobby? I only play in leagues where the roster moves freeze after week 12. I love and would wager I can outdraft others. One reason why I loved HEFFA, it was ALL about the draft. I miss the old criticalness of the draft itself. Finn5033
I've never played in a league that locks rosters for the playoffs. That would be interesting. But as far as the draft is concerned, most people's rosters are really different by then anyways. Ramhock
I made one SB, I drafted & starting Zeke, LMiller, TY, JWinston (drafted Dak, played him mostly to get here). Had Melvin for most of the year.

pegos
What does this have to do with drafting?
irish
Completely disagree, not bragging just factual, every year I'm in about 10 leagues and I make the playoffs in at least half, most years most of them. This year I've made the playoffs in 9 out of 10 leagues and am in the finals in 4 of those. Outside of me, I play with many huddlers year in and year out for well over a decade and I can tell you that there are specific guys that are ALWAYS good and in it at the end. I know, there's luck in this game but with that kind of consistency, there are just certain people who know what they're doing and some that don't.
loaf
the draft plays in integral part but the wire also helps with where you messed up and where injuries come into play
millworkguy
Luck helps, but the draft does take skill. I am in the finals with a team this year, where i have done very few roster moves and still have my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th 8th, 10th 12th picks on my roster (half my team)
buddahj
I think you can overcome a bad/unlucky draft by being active in free agency. It seems like everyone has the same info at draft time so the biggest obstacle is to avoid the bust or season ending injury. Which makes luck the X-factor.
