That defense is slow as hell, the play before the end of the half proved as much. leinhart is not a Heisman candidate either. This team beat up on Athenay competition in the Pac-10 and should have already lost to Va Tech who was embarassed today. And to even have to sweat Stanford proves this team is nothing. The same writers who gave USC a piece of LSU's title will keep this team number one because tehy saved their ass against a team they should have smoked if they were truley the top team in the country. Ill let these Wac-10 and USC lovers continue to think this team is #1, but if they do meet OU in Miami, OU will crush them. And prove USC didnt deserve Athena last yr either. Its a complete joke that a team can get this much hype and not play anyone all yr long worth a Athena, unless Cal proves it isnt over-rated as hell which I believe it is. The fact is that USC won their game and they did it once again on the road, something OU doesn't know anything about yet. Stanford and USC is a rivalry. Not to mention that everyone gets up to play the National champion every week. It's fruitless to discuss this with you. OU hasn't played anyone yet, nor have they left home. I can't wait until they leave the comforts of home to play someone. Remember, OU proved last year that beating everyone by 50 points doesn't mean jack. They got rolled by KSU. GOB1 Posted September 27, 2004 Share Posted September 27, 2004 What is with all this name calling, and why are we debating which conference is better this early in the year, I dont know who the better conference is, or the best team is yet, until season end. To have a bias opinon for your team or conference is 1 thing, but to be talking smack, to someone u dont even know, is plain stupid. As for the game, Usc show me a lot, good teams find a way to win on the road, and what Usc def did in the second half was just awesome. I have no preference to either team, but would have like to see Usc lose just to shake up the rankings, plus the fact the kick my Wolverines ass last year in the Rose Bowl, but that said, Usc is looked pretty good to me, and have my vote. Oops, someone did not pass geometry - not surprising. Remember the logic theorems? If A is true, and A=B is true, then B is also true. Here we go Sarge: A = True: The only way to know for sure which team is best (on a given weekend) is for them to play each other. A does not equal B: If your team is OU and my team is USC, they haven't played yet ("A"). If you believe OU is #1 and USC is less than #1 (#10, #200, whatever) ("B"), it doesn't matter until they play. So B is not necessarily true: USC is not #1 - maybe they are, or maybe OU is instead. We don't KNOW for SURE, now do we?? So your opinion is just that - opinion, dumbass. Stay with the class Sarge, its not supposed to be this hard.... As a big Trojan fan, I was almost as disappointed in that 1st half performance as I was the 1st half vs. Cal last year. "Almost" is key, however, as they did pull out the win with a dominating D in the 2nd half - as all great teams do, they put it together when they had to. (Miscues: a missed chip shot FG, a missed tackle - on the 82 yd run - and a dropped easy TD pass in the endzone by our TE. USC should've been up 24-21 at the half, a 14 point swing. But that's just making excuses for poor execution!) So what took them so *** long to wake up?? I'm pissed at the attitude more than anything else at this point - we have the talent/athleticism, coaching and systems (D, O and special teams) on par with the best in the country, including OU, TX, MIA, etc. But letting inferior teams get up on us in the 1st half is a troubling tendency, and if it happens vs. Cal, they could beat us again. Thank God for another bye week for Coach Carroll to do some yelling.... I think all polls before the 6th or 7th game are lame - all teams need to get out of their own crib (OU!) and play some real talent (USC) before these things can even be considered. By mid-October, we should know what's really happening with consistency. That is just my OPINION - and that is all we have for now...
