Kansas State 2000
A&M is currently a 5 pt. favorite, I'd expect them to cover.
Gonkis
edited to add link McNeal runs a 4.38s 40-yard dash to Sproles 4.41s. Not bad, but that's what Neon Deion runs it in right now and he's old. Edited September 29, 2004 by Gonkis
Kansas State 2000
Check out Sproles back-up --- Thomas Clayton 6-foot 217-pounds 3.32 40
Coffeeman
Check out Sproles back-up --- Thomas Clayton 6-foot 217-pounds 3.32 40  448748 Whoa - is this for real? I've never seen a number that low. Do they have 40 times for Olympic sprinters? that's got to be right up there with them, or down there as the case may be... Dragon
Check out Sproles back-up --- Thomas Clayton 6-foot 217-pounds 3.32 40  448748 MUST be a typo (or a practical joke)... Nobody runs that fast. There was an article a year or so ago about how some of the 4.2x times are timing errors, as it is virtually impossible. Kansas State 2000
It's true ... he transferred from Florida State.
Dragon
It's true ... he transferred from Florida State. 448868 It might be true that he transferred from Fla State, but there is no way he runs a 3.anything 40. Do the math.
Gonkis
2001 article on Clayton He ran it in 4.32 in 2001 as a high schooler. That's crazy enough. "of the 4.2x times are timing errors" - Why? Do they count 1 mississippi, 2 misissippi?

Is it possible to improve a whole second in the 40 between HS and college? I think not. BTW, is it possible that the standards for testing are different? That is, how do they clock this - is it the first 40 yards only, or the middle of a 100 yard dash, etc.? Either way, I still don't think you gain a full 1.0 second in a one or two year span (between the ages of 18-20?) by "improving your start" or finish, in only 40 yards.... polksalet
Courtney Lewis has better football speed than Mcneal. Hes like Sproles but quicker with zero power.
