Original huddle members

I've been here just about the whole time.  I was here when DMD was asking questions to himself and I actually remember talking to Big Country via icq and telling him that I thought this DMD guy is answering his own questions at times. :D

I know that back in that very shortly after the first UBB came to The Huddle, I organized a mock draft, the very first huddle mock, and from that draft sprung the Huddled Masses, the first ever born of the huddle league.  That league is still going today but most of the members have changed other than Big County, Mike C, Can'head, and me.  Three of us original's are still here on this board but most of the others are long gone.

LOL, I love the history lesson DMD and Skippy. I believe I came around at the end of '99 or early '00, but I don't recall. I didn't want to pay that first year either. Glad I did.

I don't remember when I 1st came here.. It was 98 or 99. I mostly read the articles and did very little posting under a different username. I do remember that once you hit 25 posts, you went from a rookie a huddler. That as far as I got i think. In 2001, I didn't hit the boards until November and really didn't start posting until 2002. I am not in any leagues here. I just enjoy these messageboards and most of all the weekly articles.

Started playing FF in 1998.

Got my first computer in summer of 1999.

Must have just missed delphi, because I found this place in the fall of 1999.

Posted very rarely under 'bz' until it went pay.

Been chester ever since!

Found the Huddle in '98 (Start/Bench list via a search). Decided to check out the boards in '99, but never posted. Became active on boards in 2000, joined a BOTH league (Canada vs USA), but it only lasted that one season.

Even though I rarely posted, the reason I stuck with the Huddle when it went pay was for the message board.

I remember the fuss when the Huddle switched to UBB and everybody complained that you could no longer see all the people who responded at glance. I wasn't near as active back then though and mainly came for the fantasy content not the message boards.

Not sure of the year. Lost a lot of membership with the Delphi fiasco ... then more when the site went pay.

I joined a mock draft in 1999 that turned into the FOFF league (and won the championship that year) ... we have 5 of the originals remaining (TNG, Duffy, Protoslacker, Tommyknocker and myself) ... other founding members that have since moved on were rolldabones, Bearfan, Symone, Wiseguy and ahmo. Replacement owners include Wiegie, ABearWithFurniture, Georgemoe and Yukon Cornelius.

I remember "The Diversion" ... I remember doing this post every 3 months or so ....

I was reading a ff magazine in the winter of 1999 and read an article rating the ff websites. The Huddle was one of those websites, probably because there were only about 5 ff sites back then, so I checked it out and never left.

p.s. Back in the free days, I was the one who suggested that DMD and WW make this the first and only fantasy football/porn site. I told them they could then charge whatever they wanted, increase membership, get to look at boobs all day while talking about ff, and make a fortune. If those guys had only listened to me..

I've been here for awhile and I've seen a post like this one every year.

As time goes on you forget about some members while others you will never forget.

Members have changed names so many times it makes it hard to keep track as well. I've kept my name since 1999 though it may be time for a change again.

There has been so many memorable events over the years on TheHuddle I've forgotten a lot of them ... now WHAT??? sense does that make? :D

Been here I guess it was either 99 or 98. I believe it was 2 years before it went to pay. I never checked out the message board until last year. I was always just here for the Start/Bench and the Rankings pages. Like Canes - I did a FF Ranking search in Yahoo in I guess it was 99 and TheHuddle was the first hit. Have been coming back ever since. Always thought the content was great, then when it became a pay site - I didn't want to pay but thought what the hell, it was only like $10. Those magazines are about $5 or $6 and the info. is outdated by the time you get the mag. Glad I did, and know don't know what I would do without TheHuddle.

I used The Huddle when it was free in the '90s, but then stopped using it until 2003, when I joined.  I finally found enough coins in between the couch cushions to join.

My story is pretty much the same as Meat's, although I really never got on the MB much until this season. Left for a few years and noticed a lack of fantasy production. Cashed in all of my aluminum can $ last year and now I am back for good.

I've been here since the sight was free, it helped me win 3 Championships, then everyone else in my league discovered it.

Just started posting this year. I too was a lurker for many years.
