Clarett at it again. Espn

(1) academics--Clarett alleges that he would have been academically ineligble for the 2002 season if not for OSU enrolling him with hand picked teachers who passed him although he didn't attend class.

Clarett was a true freshman in 2002. How could he possibly have been academically ineligble in his first quarter of eligibility?

(2) cars--Tressel arranged for loaner cars from Columbus dealerships. Didn't we already establish in 2003 that Clarett's car was paid by Warren Harding booster with no ties to the program?

(3) jobs--Dick Tressel arranged landscaping jobs and Clarett performed no work. This should be easily proven if true--let's call his bluff. Clarett should have a W-2 listing the job, the firms would be identifiable, and we will be able to know precisely what players were involved.

(4) boosters--I haven't heard anything more from the Boban trial, but this seems to be the same accusation. Where are the names?

My first inclination is that ESPN better have freakin done their homework to start levelling these accusations. Every allegation in the NY Times expose from July 2003 has been refute and their source is now serving jail time for fraud.

If I'm Andy Geiger and there is no truth to this stuff. I want someone's head at ESPN.

Sarge, Ohio State already was investigated for this stuff and Clarett was the one suspended.

One amusing thing to me is that these allegations come out after Krenzel starts having some success ... not as a star player for sure but for running the Bears and getting 2 wins, and suddenly Clarett wants back in the spotlight.

Clarett controls his future. Work hard, get in shape, come to the combines and he'll get his chance in the NFL.

Great player during a great OSU season, but he is becoming a whiner who won't accept any responsibility for the situation he's gotten himself into.

I only have one question......

IF all this money was being thrown at him....why did he have a tizzy fit the week of the Fiesta Bowl about not having the money to buy a plane ticket back to Ohio to attend a HS friend's funeral from a shooting death? Hmmmmmm???

To say Clarett isn't bright enough to manufacture info is ludicrious....he's had plenty of "adults" whispering in his ear for 2 years. ESPN was here last week....and could get no corroberation on any of this outside of a conversation with Clarett himself.

I don't pretend to know anything concrete about the inner workings of big time college sports....but my feeling is that if the NCAA wanted to make a stink on ANY campus....they could. Right down to a coach buying a milkshake for a player. :D If Clarett's "Sugar Daddy" up North took care of him financially...they'll try to say he was an OSU booster....mark my word.

Most OSU fans are surprised to see Krenzel starting in the NFL, but his team is 2-0 under his leadership and that cannot be denied. But you are right, in 5 years he will most likely be in the middle of medical school.

Regardless, the NCAA has already investigeted Ohio State regarding Clarett's cars and his summer jobs.

The person going along with Clarett's new version of the story got kicked off the team for multiple drug posessions.

I dont known what is true and what is not true. But I do know that repeated airing of anything will eventually lead to false validity. ESPN is airing this story on every SportsCenter and every commercial to sell more magazines. Because, if your like me, you watch SportsCenter 3 times a day, does not make the story true. I am not naive enough to think big time college football is squeaky clean but consider the source. Clarett has a history of spreading lies (17 I think in the original investigation, whatever) and has stated he will go after OSU and make them pay. If he tells the truth on the original insurance report none of this happens. I think Tressel is smart enough to not get mixed up in the used car business. If he isnt, I bet he is smart enough to not leave a trail.

OSU is guilty and they know it. This is bull *** claiming that just because MC is the one that is making the claims, that that automatically makes it a lie. Bull crap.

Just like every other major team, OSU does their share of cheating. Did Tressell have specific knowledge of all the stuff going on. Better not. Not if he is a real big time college coach. If he did, then it really could be tied back to him. He's too smart for that. Just look at Y-State. Same allegations, same basic scenario, and that one eventually did prove out to be true. It was covered up real good at first, but eventually, too many facts surfaced for the NCAA to ignore.

Why isn't OSU taking any responsibility for any of this. If they are running a clean program, they should have know MC was taking stuff. You know his family is poor, so how does he show up at practice every day in a new car? Sounds a lot like don't ask, don't tell to me.

I'm ired of this same old line from OSU fanatics claiming that the liberal media is out to get them. I have several emails that I saved from when this all first broke, where all my idiot OSU friends were claiming this was all untrue, that MC was innocent, and it was all about the liberal media trying to bring down winner. BS!!!

Quit pointing the finger at everyone else. Take a look at yourself and at least own up to the fact that you don't know what is going on in your own program.....Sorry needed a second, almost chocked on that one... and take responsibility for recruiting this supposed horrible individuals.

Funny, MC did make them a ton of money, did win them a National Title (even though I think Krenzel was the MVP) and everything was ok during all that.

Maybe he had to whine about the plane ticket back home, because it was promised to him, it had been a week since he last "worked" a job so he didn't have the money and really needed help. OSU or a friend of the program may have told him it would be arranged and then OSU backed out once they felt some heat. Who knows the whole story. Really on MC and Tressell. My experience is that the real truth usually lies somewhere between the two accounts.

I just want the idiot OSU fans to shut up about how bad a person MC is. I don't like him. I think he is a punk, but that doesn't mean he isn't telling some truth here. If you really think this type of stuff isn't going on, you're an idiot. Hell my sister in law that I hate, who went to OSU, was in a class with Cris Carter and saw another student hand him a completed test to turn in!

It happens. Quit pretending it doesn't. Point the finger inwards for a while. Not sure how the NCAA can overlook the apparent lack of institutional control that MC's case screams.

As for all the "other" players being bad seeds also. What about Robert Smith's comments? Or is he still bitter because they wouldn't let him go to class instead of practice, or I guess he made that up to. And if OSU is gettting so many bad seeds, shouldnt' they look at the coaches for that too?

Before anyone picks up on the nickname. Yes, I went to the University of Cincinnati. Yes, Huggins is a cheat and a liar. I want him out. Have wanted him out for years. Winning while scraficing morals and ethics is not winning. Somehow, the Dukes, UNCs, Jayhawks, the ZAGS, etc.... of the world can do it, not sure why the rest can't.

I'll just sit back and wait for the totally irrational replies, and personal attacks that are sure to come. I'm sure I'm just making these comments cause I'm jealous, or blah blah blah... Go ahead, point the finger this way now. It's always easier to take stock of your neighbor's stuff than it is of yours.
