FFTOC.....Rough Week

Rovers

Recommended Posts

This week was rough, but I think I may have a lot of company.... I started:

Plummer

Dillon

Bettis

Rod Smith

T Taylor

McCardell

Pollard

Josh Brown

Seattle D

I sit at 68.56 points, if my math is right, with Dillon left to play tonight. Out of curiosity, I looked at the other top 3 teams in my bracket.

Team 1- 33 points + Brady, Dillon and Kennison

Team 2- 65.9 points + Green OR Brady

Team 3- 48.42 points + Dillon

Me-------68.56 + Dillon

I don't know if it matters, but Team 1, 2 and I are all in the top 80 overall. Team 3 is around #250. This is a small sample, but did everyone have a low scoring week? No one of these 4 teams has a shot of breaking 100 this week, unless some strange stuff happens tonight. One week to go to the playoffs, and I'm getting nervous! :D

I think I'm sitting at about 85 right now.

QB: Plummer, Jake (DENVER)

RB #1: Green, Ahman (GREENBAY)

RB #2: Bettis, Jerome (PITTSBURGH)

WR #1: Smith, Rod (DENVER)

WR #2: Lelie, Ashley (DENVER)

WR #3: Patten, David (NEWENGLAND)

TE: Wiggins, Jermaine (MINNESOTA)

K: Stover, Matt (BALTIMORE)

DEF: CAROLINA PANTHERS

Ahman Green was a killer for me this week. Rod Smith really sucked but I guess the rest weren't so bad.

As for the rest of my bracket:

Team one is at about 62 points with Green or Brady. 56 overall rank.

Team two is at about 75 points but all in. 84 overall rank.

Team three is me at about 85 with Patten to go. 86 overall rank.

The best looking in our bracket is at 75 right now with a QB, an RB, a WR and a Kicker to go.

Overall a low scoring week in my bracket.

QB: Favre, Brett (GREENBAY)

RB #1: McGahee, Willis (BUFFALO)

RB #2: Bettis, Jerome (PITTSBURGH)

WR #1: Givens, David (NEWENGLAND)

WR #2: Smith, Rod (DENVER)

WR #3: Harrison, Marvin (INDIANAPOL)

TE: Putzier, Jeb (DENVER)

K: Elam, Jason (DENVER)

DEF: ATLANTA FALCONS

Not much here, either.

Have a RB to go... and it looks like I am sitting at 78 if I have added it up correctly.

QB: Brees, Drew (SANDIEGO)

RB #1: Bettis, Jerome (PITTSBURGH)

RB #2: BLAYLOCK

WR #1: Lelie, Ashley (DENVER)

WR #2: Williams, Roy (DETROIT)

WR #3: Harrison, Marvin (INDIANAPOL)

TE: Wiggins, Jermaine (MINNESOTA)

K: Andersen, Morten (MINNESOTA)

DEF: ARIZONA CARDINALS

Some real idiot choices in that lineup for sure. :D However, didn't want to use up much in case I needed to push to stay in the top 200. May have made a mistake in that thinking.

QB: Brady, Tom (NEWENGLAND)

RB #1: Tomlinson, LaDainian (SANDIEGO)

RB #2: McGahee, Willis (BUFFALO)

WR #1: Williams, Roy (DETROIT)

WR #2: Patten, David (NEWENGLAND)

WR #3: Taylor, Travis (BALTIMORE)

TE: Johnson, Eric (SANFRNCSCO)

K: Elam, Jason (DENVER)

DEF: BALTIMORE RAVENS

I kept thinking to myself, don't play R. Williams...his ankle is not right. I just don't have that many options left at WR. I think I'm at 71.6 with Brady & Patten left and need a big game from Brady to move closer to #200.

Well, it does look like everyone is struggling to top the century mark, that makes me feel a little better. I'm already starting to agonize over who to start in week 12. I should be within 10 points of the bracket leader after this week..... if Brady doesnt outscore Dillon by more than 10 points. Then, should I get greedy and stupid and burn studs to win the bracket, and be assured of a playoff spot? :D Will the other two teams in contention for my bracket do the same thing? I think at least one of them will. ACK!

QB: Brady, Tom (NEWENGLAND)

RB #1: Bettis, Jerome (PITTSBURGH)

*RB #2: Lewis, Jamal (BALTIMORE)

WR #1: Driver, Donald (GREENBAY)

WR #2: Harrison, Marvin (INDIANAPOL)

WR #3: Jackson, Darrell (SEATTLE)

TE: Gates, Antonio (SANDIEGO)

K: Edinger, Paul (CHICAGO)

DEF: SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

*I had K Jones in until Sunday morning when I heard Ogden was returning. This is the like the 4th or 5th time I have lost a player early in a game due to injuries. Those 0's kill the score.

Well I was kinda down thinking I had a bad week. But judging by the people posting here, I may actually be able to make up a little ground. I did not have a spectacular week, but did manage to get over 100 barely by 1.92 points.

QB: Culpepper, Daunte (MINNESOTA) - 24.82

RB #1: McGahee, Willis (BUFFALO) - 12.7

RB #2: Bettis, Jerome (PITTSBURGH) - 13.2

WR #1: McCardell, Keenan (SANDIEGO) - 9.4

WR #2: Lelie, Ashley (DENVER) - 13.9

WR #3: Burress, Plaxico (PITTSBURGH) - 4.6

TE: McMichael, Randy (MIAMI) - 4.3

K: Carney, John (NEWORLEANS) - 7

DEF: CLEVELAND BROWNS - 12

Total 101.92

Struggling here as well. Last week I had a good week and moved up to the #242 spot, 6.?? pts out of the 200th spot. Figured I could be somewhat conservative in WK11 and go for broke if need be in WK12.

QB: Brees, Drew (SANDIEGO) - 21.54

RB #1: Jones, Kevin (DETROIT) - 10.0

RB #2: Bettis, Jerome (PITTSBURGH) - 13.3

WR #1: Walker, Javon (GREENBAY) - 8.8 - Was expecting more

WR #2: Kennison, Eddie (KANSASCITY) - ???

WR #3: Patten, David (NEWENGLAND) - ???

TE: Wiggins, Jermaine (MINNESOTA) - 11.1

K: Anderson, Gary (TENNESSEE) - 4.0

DEF: GREEN BAY PACKERS - 4.0

Total: 72.74

Still an outside shot to break 100 but I'm not counting on it. I was not expecting the GB contingent to be a no show fantasy wise. Oh well.

Hey, Z, from what I can tell, yes, I think you will move up for sure. The big fantasy points came from surprise players, like Goings, Driver (as opposed to Walker) Boller and like that. I think anyone who hits 90 this week had a good one. Just from gawking at other random teams in the tourney, without actually scoring them out, this seems to be the case.

By the way, if you havent yet completed the questionairre at the FFTOC site, you might want to, if you plan to participate next year. One of the things I would really like to see (and is included in the Q) is some sort of faster scoring report. Apparently, they could go to live scoring (expensive) or to a sort of delayed scoring report system, which would be updated on Sundays. With that, we would have a much better idea of what sort of scoring there was across the board, instead of guessing as we are here.

Also, on the message board over there, the say that respondents prefer the tournament style over traditional scoring FF systems by 15 to 1. That is a hugh number. I guess there are a lot of people who get frustated being the highest scoring team in thier league with nothing but a losing record to show for it. (see the I hate FF Thread!) I will always play regular FF, but this is a lot of fun too.... more work, but it's draft day once a week! :D

Put up 69 pts. so far and have a couple going tonight. Hopefully they explode. I'm on the outside looking in and need a miracle to break #200. Had to burn alot of studs this weekend. Perhaps I should have pushed the panic button earlier.

Tom Brady (New England) - ???

Curtis Martin (New York Jets) - 8.8

Jerome Bettis (Pittsburgh Steelers) - 13.2

Chad Johnson (Cincinnati Bengals) - 14.00

Marvin Harrison (Indianapolis Colts) - 10.9

David Givens (New England Patriots) - ???

Jermaine Wiggins (Minnesota Vikings) - 11.1

David Akers (Philadelphia Eagles) - 4.0

Jacksonville Jaguars - 7.0

WR #3: Gaffney, Jabbar - 1.5

Week 11 results are up ... thanks to Dillon, I finished with ~102 for the week, still 2nd in the bracket ... might need to burn some studs next week in a playoff push:

Points behind Bracket Leader: 16.22

Points from Overall #200 Ranked Manager: 2.48 Points Behind

Holy crap! Is that the high score this week? I ended with only 92 points, but actually went from 78 overall to 75!

:bigshock:

However, my lead over the #200 manager fell from 36 to 29. I am also now in second in my bracket, but 30 points behind, so that $100 is out the window! :bawling: So, how many studs can I safely save in week 12, without losing a playoff spot?

PS: Timmyk, are you sure about that? There was no team in the FFTOC this week with 157.

I don't think so. I went down the list to 117.9 pts. and only 1 person had Garrard as QB.

Not good at all... I dropped from 51st to 68th and am now only 34 points ahead of the 200th place team.

I'm getting real tired of playing people when they have their "worst game of the year so far". :D Every week it's the same thing for at least one of the guys I select.... I really need to work on that.

I should put up about 90 points this week.  I was sitting arond #130 so I hope I don't drop too much.  My WRs killed me!  It's a good thing I played Edge this week.

I droped to #169 and have a 5.5 lead over the coveted 200th spot. This weeks starters will be tought to pick.
