In case you need more football, The Horned Frogs are the favorite over S.Miss here and look to be the pick. I have never seen either team play, but if the stats hold true, the Horned Frogs should cover My silly line came out to be Horned frogs by 8.

Horned Frogs allow the third least rushing yards in college FB at 69.7 per game.

Horned Frogs are third in the league in forcing turnovers with 3.6 per game.

S. Miss offense vs TCU DE

yards

Pts 26 vs 22

yds per rush 4.3 vs 2.0

Yds per pass 6.5 vs 5.5

TCU offense vs S. Miss De

Pts 34 vs 14

yds per rush 3.6 vs 4.2

Yds per pass 8 vs 6.21

Both teams are ranked around 56th in the country.

S. Miss is 0-3 ATS Last 3

TCU is 3-0 ATS Last 3

Bob Cunningham also liked this pick. I have never bet on the Horned Frogs but I'll throw out $10 and see if my line holds true.

A little more info. from cbssportsline.com

TCU TCU

SCOUTING THE OFFENSE: The addition of redshirt freshman QB Tye Gunn and true freshman RB Lonta Hobbs in the past month has made TCU more diverse, more productive and more successful. That's why Gunn will get the call over senior Sean Stilley, who is back from a shoulder injury, and why Hobbs will continue to get more carries than some of the more experienced backs on the roster.

With the offensive line getting extra time to rest and heal over the past two weeks, the Horned Frogs could be even better against a Southern Miss defense that has struggled to stop the run.

SCOUTING THE DEFENSE

The Frogs continue to field one of the nation's top defenses. TCU enters the Southern Miss game ranked third in the nation in rush defense after holding Louisville to minus-26 yards, and ranks seventh in the nation in total defense, allowing 274.71 yards per game. The Frogs also continue to be one of the nation's best at forcing turnovers, with 25 takeaways (11 interceptions, 14 fumble recoveries) in seven games.

QUOTEWORTHY

"I don't know if we've played anyone as athletic as (QB Tye Gunn), but I think it's the same offense. They've done a good job. We know we're playing a good team that's awful hot right now." -- Southern Miss coach Jeff Bower.

S. Miss S. Miss

THIS WEEK'S GAME: Southern Miss at TCU, Wednesday, Oct. 30, 6:30 p.m. -- This rare Wednesday night game gives C-USA a chance to showcase two of its best teams for a national audience, in a game that should go a long way toward determining the conference championship. Southern Miss (3-0) has a better record than TCU (3-1), but TCU has more momentum and the home-field advantage.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

QB Dustin Almond -- He struggled with first-game jitters against Cincinnati two weeks ago, and he'll need to grow up in a hurry for the Golden Eagles to beat TCU.

WR LeRoy Handy -- Handy has six receptions in his past three games, but he's come up big against TCU in the past, with seven receptions for 98 yards last year and five receptions for 84 yards and two touchdowns two years ago. Handy still leads the Golden Eagles with 25 catches for 344 yards this season, but the time has come for him to break out of his slump and become a playmaker again.

DL Ronald Jones, Rayshun Jones, Terrell Paul and Chad Ruffin -- The Golden Eagles need more than they're getting out of their defensive front.

INJURY IMPACT

NT Skylor Magee (back) will travel with the team to TCU, but his status won't be decided until game time. He's had problems with his back all season, which is just one more reason why the Golden Eagles have struggled up front, especially against the run.
