McSooner
Just curious as to your thoughts.
BS Miscreant
I'm obviously not K State but I think they looked good(offensively) against a grossly overmatched team. 28 points is way to many points to give up to Cal.
Kansas State 2000
The game went pretty much as I expected though I expected a bit less Cal points on the board. Every year K-State seems to need a game or two to get it rolling. The K-State offense will once again be in the top 5 scoring and has 2 solid Heisman contenders. Roberson had 350 yards and four touchdowns while Sproles ran for 175 yards and a TD. That’s 525 yards and 5 TD’s by 2 guys. eek! The K-State defense did as I expected this early in the season, they made a couple errors against the pass due to inexperience. Missing an interception attempt leading to a long TD is something that is correctable and will be addressed by the coaching staff. K-State will be great against the run and showed it Saturday as California was held to 90 total yards on the ground. Special Teams is usually an area where K-State excels, I was disappointed not to see a big return. With Sproles taking the returns look for that to change soon. I’d like to see someone other than Sproles back there though. Overall the team looked to be one of the top couple teams on offense. K-State has been ranked in the final top 5 in overall defense for many years in a row now. I expect the defense to get in gear over the next few games just in time to handle Texas which is our 6th game of the season.
Canes26
They looked good overall. The defense has some question marks. If Cal scored near the goal line, the game could've gone the other way. Good game to watch. Nice looking offense, but we'll see how they do against a better defense. K State always starts fast due to their soft schedule in the beginning. PatrickL
what was cal thinking when they ran the option rather than just line em up and sneak it up the middle? K state scored at will the whole first half though, even when they started from the two yard line.
Sgt. Ryan
Play of the game was the 4th down stop when Cal was trying to go up 14-10. That stop led the KSU to go 90+ yds and score to break the game open 17-7 and Cal fell apart there big time. But KSU looked explosive on O, but is Cal even a top 70 D in the country. Hardly a test to slow them down imo. The defense looked alarmingly out of sync. Josh Buhl is a former alum of my high school and I followed his career at KSU, so I have seen them play many times. I think this D is a far cry from the dominating D KSU has had the past 5-6 yrs and as a result will lose a big game for them sometime this season. Maybe in Kansas City in December cool_thu
Canes26
If cal would've scored on the goal, the game could have gone the other way (doubt it. would've been a lot closer)
