teamprimos
yes they are as is every other florida team, now with that close victory will they drop in polls? that interference call against wvu at the end of the game was a joke. coxxy rules go buckeyes! McSooner
Add to that that they just lost their starting RB and safety. They'll lose to before the bowl game.
Coffeeman
Teamprimos is obviously campaigning for his OSU to jump over the Canes in the polls. It does not matter - most, if not all, the top 10 teams will have a loss before their bowl games. Only 2 made it last year, and it seems like it gets tougher each year to go unbeaten. Again, why do we have polls before the end of the rgualr season?? (And yes, I am a bitter USC fan...)
Coffeeman
sorry for the "rgular" typo - going too fast...
rebeldog
If the canes are overrated after one close game then Ohio State shouldn't even be ranked. I agree that there shouldn't be a poll until the middle of the season.
BS Miscreant
teamprimos: yes they are as is every other florida team I believe this to be absolutely untrue. FAU deserves all the attention they are getting.
KevinL
Teamprimos is well trained. He quickly came up with the standard response for when a highly ranked team wins a close game against a lower or unranked opponent.

I laugh at a Buckeye fan calling the 'Canes over rated. I mean, have you watched your Buckeye's games this year? lol But as to the question, are the 'canes over rated? Most certainly, YES. This is a very young squad who lost over 10 starters on offense and defense (most to the NFL by the way) and are still trying to feel their way around the field as a team. They certainly are not the 2nd best team in the country. I kinda had them penciled in for a 9-2 record and hopefully a major bowl bid with a good shot at another National Championship next year. Now with Gore gone, it will be very hard to get that offense in gear. With FSU, VaTech, and Tenn comming up in the next few weeks, the pressure will be on the young 'Canes to perform and I don't see them winning at FSU and at VaTech. And please, you don't have any room to squak about bad calls at the end of games.
teamprimos
only mention this because osu has had close games and win and still drop in polls. last year was no difference and we won the title. osu football is not pretty but very good sound football. when osu wins by very little margin everyone on here is like osu lucked out again (true?) so just feeding back what we get! coxxy rules go buckeyes! Sgt. Ryan
Talk is cheap, this will be settled on the field, and OSU wont be part of any NC game this yr or for the next decade. So take your tarnished title on a BS interference call, and a bunch of NCAA violations for acadmeic fraud and run.
sacosud
Gotta believe a healthy Gore really changes the outcome of the WVU Game. Gore wears teams down and I think Canes probaly win by 14 or more with Gore. I think Canes do not drop and I love the Buckeyes but there is diffrences between this game and sdsu....not that it matters Ohio State is going to have to win out to get to the NC game I see PVT. Cryan has return... bawling ...boy do u have some built up agression..Miami going to have rough waters ahead anyway. FSU vs Miami..should be a good one. sacosud
by the way cry boy there are no violations for academic fraud at OSU. If your going to post at least have some intelligence...What am I saying It's Pvt. Cryan bawling
KevinL
Speaking of overrated Florida teams ... Ole Miss (3-1 coming in) beat Florida (3-2 coming in) and it's being reported as this huge upset? Well Florida did win two of it's games by outrageous scores (65-3 and 63-3). Maybe that's what makes them so good?
'canes2004
I think the ranking of the Gators had more to do with the talent on the team, not how their playing. You just don't go from a SEC power to a doormat in 2 years. The talent level the Gators have is equal to or greater than many teams in the top ten. This leaves one major area of concern for how they are playing and that is coaching. The Ron Zook era is about to come to an end, and soon. This is a coach, who under Spurrier, was demoted from Def. to ST's. He is a joke and is ruining the Gator program. I'm not a Gator fan, but I live in the heart of Gator country and have heard more insults and barbs directed at not only Zook but also at the AD who hired him. They are still one of the elite powers in college ball, their just playing like a bunch of lost kids. See ya Zook.
canatic
Nice post Canes and for those of you that think the Canes are overrated.... does it really mater? Judgement day will come next week when they play Free Shoes U and when the play Tenn. @ home, Pitt away, and VaTec away in the coming weeks. Just like the Luckeyes will be tested against Iowa, Big Blue, and Purdue.
TheCMB
I just want to point out that coming from a Cane - any cracks about Free Shoes U. (or Creminoles) are pretty ridiculous. FSU runs a relatively clean program (it's all relative) and Bobby actually has a pretty good track record of disciplining his players. canatic
Hey its just a harmless crack at FSU just before the big game. I have much respect for Bobby and what he has done but the truth is the last couple of years things have been getting a little loose. UM was without a doubt the best team in the country before we got hit with sanctions and when we see other teams do simular acts we have every right to knock back, especially FSU after all the A$$kickin they gave us during that time. bottom line is every team does it! Now we are back to being the NFL's minnor league team. head_ban
HD Man
Great comments...I do agree that when OSU last year and this year won a close game regardless of their competition they slide while Cane voters act like it was a bye week and nothing happened. It's a joke as most have mentioned having the polls...just gives us sport nuts something to cry about...The Marketing Machine is working... At the end it'll be OSU again & all you saps can cry some more...BUCKEYES ROCK
Dragon
TheCMB: FSU runs a relatively clean program (it's all relative) and Bobby actually has a pretty good track record of disciplining his players. big_shoc eek! big_shoc PLEASE tell me you are kidding! TheCMB
Canatic - no offense taken Dragon/anyone else - yeah, FSU's program is "relatively" clean, meaning in comparison with any other major program. If you don't think so - name some examples where FSU players got off or were just slapped on the wrist for serious infractions... Lots of schools have MUCH worse track records more serious offenders (assault & battery, sexual assault, cheating, point-shaving, taking money from boosters, etc.)
Bender Rodriguez
Overrated, underrated, who gives a ****?!?!? A win's a win. A lose is lose. No matter how it happens. Good teams claw and scratch and fight for 4 quarters. Did OSU win all of thier games last year? Yes. Did Miami win all of thier games last year? No. Has OSU won all of its games so far this year? Yes. Has Miami won all of its games so far this year? Yes. Wins and loses are ALL that matters. That being said, Miami and OSU both have HUGE tests this week. Let's just crack some cold ones and enjoy the action!
Sgt. Ryan
no offense, but OSU playing Wisconsin isnt hardly the same as Miami playing Fla St.
Bender Rodriguez
Sgt. Ryan: no offense, but OSU playing Wisconsin isnt hardly the same as Miami playing Fla St. So you're saying that both of these games aren't big tests for Miami and OSU respectively??? URLACHERisGOD
We will see the true test of "overrated" teams this weekend. I foresee both Miami and OSU getting beat this weekend. The Sooners will walk out of Dallas winning the Red River shoot-out yet again. However, even with their losses, Miami and OSU will not fall out of the top 5. How does that happen? Guess I can't complain. As much as I dislike the Canes and Buckeyes, I dislike the Cornhuskers even more!
