chitownhawk Posted October 17, 2003 Share Posted October 17, 2003 Don't be surpirsed to see the Hawkeyes go into the Horseshoe and take care of b'ness - similar to what they did at the Big House last year. I'm not saying Iowa will put a beating on them, but they will win by a touchdown. Iowa is half the team they were last year, but OSU simply isn't that good. And OSU deserves to lose this game and every game the rest of the season. It is a crime that Reynolds gets suspended for one game for what he did to Sorgi - he should be suspended for at least 5 games. And I would not be surprised if what Reynolds did was an order from a coach - maybe not Tressel but at least an assistant. Players pull, twist, pinch and do all sorts of stuff in piles, but never what Reynolds did. He was trying to take Sorgi out of the game and he was successful - it looked like a gameplan more than "losing it in the heat of the battle." If a camera doesn't catch it, nothing happens and he tries to take Chandler out this week. The football gods will make this right with a Hawkeye victory! This is simply a case of the kid being too jacked up and frustrated and doing something stupid. I won't comment on the penalty, other than to say Tressel has proven to be almost too straight and narrow...so I trust his judgement. Dead net, get over it...it's in the past. There are no football gods to wreak revenge and I doubt Iowa gives a **** about Sorgi or the foul play (of a guy who won't play this week) other than it helps them by removing an OSU starter. On top of that, the shoe is a hard place for outsiders to win. That being said, our offense has sucked so far. (Not even an option team should have a QB as their prime rushing threat, let alone OSU.) So this game will be a dogfight - and I'm nervous about the Buckeye's chances (because of lacking O, not Iowa greatness or "just desserts"). Go Bucks! I'm sure Iowa is about the last team they'd like to see come to town when they're needing to circle the wagons. No doubt Iowa smells the blood in the water, but they'll need to improve on their road effort at MSU to win in the horseshoe. I'd hate to have to predict the outcomes of the Wis/Purdue, Iowa/OSU, MN/MSU matchups... all look really even and should be terrific games. It will even be mildly interesting to see how well Ill. shows in the Big House... the Illini will jump up and bite somebody before long I'm guessing.
