Not so sure. CFB is a whole lot about matchup. TT was a very bad matchup for Cal's secondary.

I really have a hard time buying into that line. As Cal has proven very good defensively all year with this exception. Motivation plays a HUGE roll in college sports and that showing was a mirror reflection of their state of mind, IMO.

TT is unlike anything ever seen in college football. The better secondaries dont match up well with them. ITT uses tiny cutting wrs as opposed to the large pro type guys. Big cbs have difficulty coveing them.

I think a mid major has a better chance of beating ITT than a powerhouse with pro style defense.

Polk, you have it right. If you are not used to playing Tech, they can cause real problems. A mid major probably would have done better agains TT than Cal, and that is not taking anything away from Cal, it is just about match ups.

I don't know, the Big 10 has played the Mac for years and they've had some outstanding offensive schemes and they have fared very well. Also if you look at the WAC, they run this style of offense almost exclusively throughout the league and have no luck against the big dogs.

The big difference is that TT is good at that type of offense. TT is consistently in the top three in the nation in passing. What you are saying is similar to saying UT didn't play well against Washington in the Holiday because it was a lesser bowl. You and I both know that, that had nothing to do with it.

The mac has wrs that run in the 4.5 range. ITT's guys can flat scream down the field. The fastest player in the draft last year was carlos francis who went to the raiders, an ITT product.

Think 5 darrell green's running 10 yard patterns.
