Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Jason White choke just as badly last year against LSU? Why do they let this guy play? He's got to be the biggest choker of a QB that I have ever seen and they gave him a heisman?????? HOW???

Correct..With any kind of heat in his face, he's mistake-prone. This simple adage gets masked in the Big-12.

Why did he play? He's the best they have.

Last year he was playing with a broken arm and still nearly won the game.

I think Texas is the best D, they face year in and out and maybe they are just not that good as shown by Michigan 37 points :D

LSU had a great D and USC is in the top 10 in virtually every defensive stat.

I shouldn't have said " they are not that good"........but maybe not nearly as prepared as others would be.

Last year he threw 13 of 37 for 102 yards and two interceptions. They didn't have any other QBs better than that?

They Sooners are now down 55-10 and they are running the ball. Me thinks even the playcallers have quit.

Well would you let White continue to throw at this point?

Like I said, his season stats look superb, because of the lack of aggressive, pro-style pass rushes in the Big-12. The media experts buy the hype hook, line and sinker.

BINGO!!

I was shocked at the naivete' of the media when this guy got nominated to the Heisman again. Everything is a friggin' beauty contest in college football. Even in determining the NC. The media is now telling us Auburn is a solid #2, but not that good, because they didn't win big enough or are not stylish enough.

Corry Redding had a pretty good year for Detriot this year as a pass rushing DE.

Montae Reagor is an up and comming DE for the Colts.

The media assumes that because you play in a "major" conference your good. NOT SO FAST!!. Most of the best players in the NFL have come from the mid-majors, yet they get no pub during the Heisman selection or in the bowl selection. Utah, Boise and even Louisville got no respect this year.

I don't deny that the Big-12 has some good players at the D-end position. But if you look at the style of play in that conference, it's so heavily in favor of mobile type QBs with an emphasis on a quasi-option attack. Since the passing game is not that refined with Oklahoma's exception, defenses also don't need to be geared up to stop the passing game. Kinda like a chicken and egg thing.

Forgot to mention the Red Raiders there. But they're still an oddity out there.

Really can't argue with that, at least the last couple of years with the exception of TT.
