You got to #2 in the BCS, can you stay there. One win away from an ass whipping this school will never forget.

Think back to when Nebraksa backed into the Championship game vs Miami in 01. OSU is going to prove to to the rest of the country, they didnt deserve to be there.,

But you know whats sad. Michigan is probably going to hand OSU their ass and I wont get the joy of laughing in the faces of those homers that actually think this team is a top 2 team.

hello sgt cryin! yes the buckeyes are #2 in bcs and we have a very tough game this weekened (actually will be tougher game than playing your oklahomos).

oklahomo has a good team and have not said one time they didnt but the big 12 sucks other than your team.

i hope the buckeyes can win "THE GAME" , but if they dont and oklahomo does make national championship game (which is not a lock either) they will not roll over any of the top teams that have a shot.

so hopefully its OSU vs OU and then you can see what playing a real team is like!

coxxy rules go buckeyes!

All I have to say even if Oklahoma and OSU plays and the game is close Sgt. Ryan you lose any credibilty, because basically you've called the big 10 a very "average" conference if I'm not mistaken. If OSU comes close to beating your beloved Sooners it just proves that the Big 10 is the best conference in the nation.

I went on a little excursion and, as a Big 12 Fan (actually, and 'old Big 8 fan'), I was surprised in what I found out.

I went back through all of the rankings that have been published (ESPN/USA Today, AP and BCS) and calculated the number of teams from each conference showing up each week to try to determine which conference has had a better overall season (thus far).

I came up with a little 'scoring methodology' that gives 2pts for any team from a conference that is in the top 10 of any of the three main rankings (ESPN/USA Today...AP...BCS), and one point for any team in the top 25 (including those already in the top 10)...which basically gives 3pts for each team in the top 10 and one point for all other teams in the top 25.

The info below reads like this:

10: 3, 4, 4, 4, 1, 1

Would mean the Big 12 had 3 teams in the top 10 for the ESPN/USA Today poll and 4 teams in the top 25 for the same...4 teams in the top 10 of the AP and 4 teams in the top 25 (meaning all of their top 25 teams were also in the top 10), and one team was in the top 10 of the BCS or the top 25 of the BCS (note that the BCS only publised a top 25 for the last three weeks, and published a top 15 in the first two weeks it was published).

Week 1

12: 3, 4, 3, 4 = 20pts

10: 2, 5, 2, 5 = 18pts

Advantage Big 12

Week 2:

12: 3, 4, 3, 4 = 20pts

10: 2, 5, 2, 5 = 18pts

Advantage Big 12

Week 3:

12: 3, 4, 3, 4 = 20 pts

10: 2, 5, 2, 5 = 18 pts

Advantage Big 12

Week 4:

12: 3, 6, 2, 4 = 20pts

10: 2, 4, 2, 5 = 17pts

Advantage Big 12

Week 5:

12: 2, 5, 1, 5 = 16pts

10: 2, 4, 1, 5 = 15pts

Advantage Big 12

Week 6:

12: 1, 5, 1, 4 = 13pts

10: 2, 3, 2, 6 = 17pts

Advantage Big 10

Week 7:

12: 2, 4, 2, 4 = 16pts

10: 1, 5, 1, 7 = 16pts

Push

Week 8:

12: 2, 4, 1, 5 = 15pts

10: 1, 6, 2, 7 = 19pts

Advantage Big 10

Week 9:

12: 1, 5, 1, 5 = 14pts

10: 2, 7, 2, 7 = 22pts

Advantage Big 10

Week 10:

12: 1, 4, 1, 4, 1, 2 = 16pts

10: 2, 7, 2, 6, 2, 4 = 29pts

Advantage Big 10

Week 11:

12: 2, 5, 1, 5, 2, 3 = 23pts

10: 2, 6, 2, 6, 2, 4 = 28pts

Advantage Big 10

Week 12:

12: 1, 4, 1, 5, 1, 5 = 20pts

10: 3, 6, 3, 6, 2, 5 = 33pts

Advantage Big 10

Week 13:

12: 2, 4, 2, 3, 2, 4 = 23pts

10: 3, 6, 2, 6, 2, 6 = 32pts

Advantage Big 10

Week 14:

12: 2, 5, 2, 5, 2, 5 = 27pts

10: 2, 5, 2, 4, 4, 4 = 29pts

Advantage Big 10

Week 15:

12: 2, 5, 2, 5, 2, 5 = 27pts

10: 2, 5, 2, 4, 2, 4 = 25pts

Advantage Big 12

---------

The Big 10 won 8 weeks, the Big 12 won six weeks, and there was one push.

Apparently, from top to bottom, the Big 10 has had a better season than the Big 12...thus far...

It'll be interesting to see how this finishes out.

---edited to include week 15 polls---

Sarge, you just don't seem to get it. coach OU doesn't matter. USC, LSU and the whole damm BCS are simply irrelevant!!

The ONLY thing that matters now is OSU vs Mich for the 100th time, the Big10 title and all the marbles!!! The BEST (and most bitter) RIVALRY in all of college sports is THE GAME and no other football exists until this one is in the books Saturday afternoon.

I realize this is hard for you to grasp, since the closest thing you know is OU's old "pale comparison" rivalry with Nebraska (or maybe your current Texas rivalry), in those cute little "starter stadiums." Still, that's all you have...so let's work with it.

Try multiplying the feeling you had about NEB back in the "good ol days" by 50. Then dye your hair, paint your face and find 106,000 other raving diehards to go crazy about the game. Make sure that EVERY YEAR, the game's outcome has HUGE local, regional and national implications and can "make the season" regardless of records. Got that image. Okay, now do it every year for 5-6 generations, until nobody in the state doesn't know know who "that team up North" (insert NEB euphanism) refers to in conversation.

I hope that helps give you a bit of insight. Don't get me wrong, OU has a good team and hopefully come Jan. OSU will play them in A GAME. After this week, OU and other teams will matter. But this week, ALL THAT MATTERS IS THE GAME!

Muck, I appreciate your effort. I understand your scoring scheme. But I question the weighting.

Do the first few week's rankings show which team had a better overall season? Basically the first several weeks show which teams are favored in the preseason and which teams do not lose their early non-conference games.

What your numbers show me is that the Big 12 was highly ranked early in the season and then once the games started they began losing (all save Oklahoma of course). At the same time, the Big 10 teams which were not ranked early in the season won games and became ranked.

Certainly you aren't trying to suggest that being higher ranked in week 1 is just as important as being higher ranked in week 10?

Not at all...just trying to give a general guide to the seasons' performance.

Not trying to be overly scientific about it...just a rough idea of who'd done what.

And, yes, you're right, as the season progressed, the Big 10 outperformed the Big 12 in the eyes of the polls...and, probably in reality as well.

There are still several big games to play...so, we'll see.

It's people like go-time and private ryan that give trolls a bad name. Why can't you just settle down and act like a sportsmen instead of an A$$?

If Ohio State loses then I will take my lumps like a SPORTSMAN, not like a whining crybaby who spoutss insults like it's a sport.

Can't wait to hear the troll's response to this...

Don't care about Ohio State, Oklahoma, or USC.

But maybe one of you Ohio boys can tell me this:

How it is possible the "best", "2nd best", or even "3rd best" team in the nation squeaks by SAN DIEGO STATE at home and beats PENN STATE by ONE POINT?

Your corn fried brains think that only the Big Ten has tough teams. Yet Ohio State can barely beat the scurbs from the Mountain West Conference.

Your best hope is matching up against Bowling Green or Slippery Rock in the "Only People in Ohio think we are the Best Team Bowl." The Buckeyes could possibly score an offensive TD in that game.

Too bad all of the O "high" ons won't be posting anything after this Saturday.

Hey bush, you sure talk about OSU alot for a guy who doesn't care.

Ohio State is the defending national champions. This adds extra motivation for every opponent. It should be no surprise that teams like San Diego State (5-6) and Penn State play their best games against Ohio State.

In the last 25 years only Alabama 78/79 and Nebraska 94/95 were able to repeat as champions. This should show how difficult it is.

Ohio State's strengths are defense and special teams. Not offense. This leads to closer scores as compared to teams with strong offenses like Oklahoma (NCAA 1st) or USC (NCAA 5th).

Bush, as repeated said around here, OSU's Offense does suck this year (I wasn't all that thrilled with it last year either). However, the way the Defense and Spec. Teams play it hasn't mattered.

A Win is a Win. As long as we beat Michigan, I don't really care if the O has negative numbers. Same will be true for bowl game.

Between seasons I'd like to see something done to fix the O. Until then, just win baby!!!

Dear Ohio State fans,

Believe me when I say I don't really care what team wins. I will admit though, that delusional fans that have lost their grip on reality, do get under my skin a bit.

If Ohio St. wins this weekend (which isn't going to happen), then Ohio St. deserves to be No 2, in the nation. The majority of college football fans, realize that USC is the 2nd best team in the country. Go to any national poll and look at the results.

Its okay you like you're team, just say it out loud: "I am an Ohio State fan and have lost the ability to form an unbiased fair opinion on the quality of the current Buckeye football team, comparitive to at least three other college football teams that are obviously better."

Doesn't that make you feel better? Here are verbal symptoms of the diseases known as "OUR TEAMUS SUCKUS MORE THAN WE THINKUS:"

Sad isn't it? This Ohio State fan is using not only last year, but the 94 and 95 Huskers, and the 1978 and 1979 Crimson Tide as a reason why the 2003 Buckeyes deserve their current ranking. That is a reach, to say the least.

Now this guy has really needs immediate attention for his disease.

He actually thinks he plays on the team!?

Hope to hear from everybody next week (yea right)!

Sgt. Ryan:

The Game,  THE Ohio St.

Give me a F'n break.  This game is only going to decide 2 things

If OSU wins, the embarssment of literally getting blown out BY OU

Or Michigan vs wast St in the Rose.

Nothing else matters but those 2 things.

What you ****ers fail to realize id THE TEAM OU has the best offense in the country a top 5 Defense and the best punt returner and special teams in America.  That being said Offense will matter when you will not score at all on OU, and OU will score 30 minimum on you.

Miamis D last yr was terrible going into the game, and that is how they lost.  They let a weaker team like OSU stick around to the 4th and OSU beat them in OT.   OU has the best defense in America, and this wont happen here.  Stoops is a field position freak.  When his team doesnt score, which is rare.  Only once all season OU didnt score on their opening drive, his punt unit is one of the best there is at pinning teams back and then giving OU a short field 4 plays later.  Thats why they lead the country in Offense, their Defense gives the offense a short field all game long.  So when OSUs offense cant score and leaves that rag unit of a defense every OSU fans brags about, on the field for 40 minutes in the game, OU will score at will in the 4th.  That is unless they take a knee on 1st down at the OSU 4 yd line with a 40 pt lead like they did with A&M.    wink

You must be the son of an A.D. in the Big 12, Best Conference jester Let me ask you this, Big 12 HOMER, Big 12 best is BB too? You need to apply wax to your ass when getting the BUFU, if not,you come off raw.

You're right this is gettig old.

Let me Quote the huddle.

"I'm not trying to pick on Ohio State here. The Buckeyes are the defending national champs who have lost only once in the last two years, an incredibly impressive streak that deserves respect and acknowledgement. But despite the fact they've faced a more difficult schedule, it can be argued with validity that they haven't played as consistently well throughout the season as either USC or LSU. Therein lays the debate, for which there is no clear-cut correct answer."

Exactly. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I guess we will see at the end of the season.

Ryan smoking another fat one, eh!!! I told u, after Michigan beats Ohio St this weekend. Michigan goes to the Rose and Bucks get an at large. Texas May get a at large as well. Check out Espn, college football, its all there, what the Bucks lose and drop out of the top ten. As we say in the north, save some for me.
