Kansas State 2000
The Bowl Championship Series is going to add a fifth game to the rotation. The initial AP report doesn't disclose which bowl it will be.
wiegie
I don't suppose this fifth game had been added for this year it would have pitted USC against LSU on January 10th, would it have? cool_thu If not, big freaking deal.
Kansas State 2000
wiegie:If not, big freaking deal. It is a big deal as it will affect 2 conferences. Both conferences will lose a bowl that they have ties to. Also the new BCS bowl will get the national championship game every 5th year. My guess is the Gator or Citrus bowl is added. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't ... adding one more game is not a solution for every situation.
davearm
Adding a fifth game has nothing to do with improving the way the 1v2 matchup is determined (that mechanism is still good and broken). This has everything to do with appeasing the Miami(OH)'s and TCU's of the college football world, who have been complaining (all the way to Congress) that the BCS deck is stacked against them since they don't play in one of the six major conferences. myhousekey
I actually heard earlier today that the 5th bowl might be the Alamo Bowl. That surprised me quite a bit. But like you said, it's still up in the air on which bowl it will be for sure.
Big John
Sgt. Ryan: EPSN radio in Dallas is saying the Cotton Bowl. So who really knows for sure. Maybe there will be some rotation...... I remember when the BCS came out that the Cotton bowl officials were very disappointed that they were not selected as a BCS bowl, as they were one of the 4 original bowl games that were traditionally played on New Years day. Kansas State 2000
Sgt. Ryan: EPSN radio in Dallas is saying the Cotton Bowl. The Cotton Bowl facilities are to old to handle a BCS game, I would be shocked if they got it. I hope they do not as well as the BIG 12 losses one of their bowls in the Cotton Bowl. Grits and Shins
Who cares (aside from the colleges that go) ... it's all a farce anyway.
polksalet
Maybe we can get a sunbelt team in the BCS this year!!!!
oldandfat
It is not going to be a second round bowl game just an additional bowl game to satisfy the smaller conf.s that are crying because they got left out.
