WaterMan
Eagles: Mitchell likely to be traded or released by Fanball Staff - Fanball.com Wednesday, April 13, 2005 News Freddie Mitchell's mouth might cost him his spot on the Eagles' roster. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the team is likely release or trade the veteran wideout before their first minicamp on April 29. Mitchell has drawn the ire of teammates, coaches, and fans for some of the self-promoting comments he's made since the team selected him in the first round of the 2001 draft. In four years with the Eagles, Mitchell has 90 receptions for 1,263 yards and five touchdowns. Views Mitchell's numbers are actually pretty solid. Wait, those are his four-year numbers and not a single-season total? Please excuse us for a moment while we laugh uncontrollably. Okay, we're better now. If the Eagles are serious about unloading Freddie, then we won't be surprised if they use they acquire a wideout via their first-round draft pick later this month. Kansas State 2000
Do the Eagles actually think a team would trade for this joker? He'll be released.

Swiss Cheezhead
Traded? Riiiight. This just in from AP: "10 minutes after re-signing with the Chargers, Ryan Leaf has been traded for Freddie Mitchell. The Eagles also gave up a custom-made muzzle in the deal." REZ
I love guys like Mitchell. Makes one catch in a game and jumps up and starts posturing. Guess he had to do crap like that 'cause he knows he isn't going to get open again.
ebartender
I actually like Mitchell when the Eagles picked him. He was someone with personality which at that point the Eagles didn't usually go for players like that. It is a shame that in 4 years he couldn't break the starting lineup and he blames everyone but himself. He acts like he was wide open every play and McNabb wouldn't throw to him. Come on Freddie, good luck in the CFL.
