Outshined
From KFAN: WILLIAMSON WATCH In less than 48 hours, Fred Smoot already has established himself as the Vikings’ new chief of chatter on the practice field. For roughly 10 seconds and 80 yards Saturday morning, however, the veteran cornerback had no answer for Troy Williamson. The Vikings’ first-round draft pick motored past Smoot on the right sideline during the team period and caught an on-target heave from Daunte Culpepper, eliciting a chorus of gasps and catcalls from the sideline. So did Williamson have any parting words for his talkative teammate? “Nah, I didn’t say nothing,” said Williamson, a sly smirk belying his satisfaction with burning the veteran. “That’s what he does to get through practice, but that ain’t me.” Sounds like a good kid...humble and doesn't have a big head. pedroz13
Melikey ...melikey. I thought it was a bit high to kid this kid at 7, and time will tell, but the Vikings have been solid with their first round picks the last few years. I like the potential of this kid. Seahawks21
This kid is gonna have HUGE catch and yardage numbers in that offense, but the one thing that concerns me about him is that he tends to run under the ball rather than go up and get it, which could hurt him a bit in his TD numbers. I personally believe he'll make enough big plays that his TD numbers should be just fine.
Fatman
There is often extremely valuable and telling information to take form mini-camp practices.
CaP'N GRuNGe
Glad to see this, even if it is just minicamp. It gives the youngster some confidence and puts Smoot into a position where he has to push himself more.
Czarina
Yeah, most NFL WRs don't have enough confidence.
