Top 10????

Top 10 in each category---mind you this is early (1pt for 10yds rush/rec or 20yds passing; all TDs 6pts)as well, projections are only partially based on performance last year--it takes into consideration all transactions and draft--lets remember June 1st could change/shuffle a few rankings:

QB's

P. Manning--who could question it and on what grounds

Trent Green--gotta like the "D" improvements, thus more offensive opportunity

McNabb--could fall if T.O. holds out --Westbrook is not happy camper too might boycott mini-camp??

Culpepper--Randy ratio now gone will detract from his numbers

Collins--Lots of weapons-can the ex-drunk deliver?

Plummer--think this will be his best year to date...

Vick--a little more comfortable--can he throw it to himself?

Delhomme--Carolina needs depth at WR, but Smith and Colbert can be stars!

Brooks--now or never as Adrian waits for him to falter..

(tie)Favre or Brady--two QB's you can't count out...

RB's

Tomlinson--do I have to justify?

Tiki Barber--Believe Tiki gets to carry the rock as Eli matures

S. Alexander--could tumble if situation is not remedied

C. Dillon--gotta like him in Patriot colors

Holmes--can he stay healthy?

McGahee--more carries as Losman adjusts..

C. Martin--could be higher, but getting older-less carries more oxygen..

Westbrook--could move up if T.O. holds out...

L. Jordan--Randy factor works in his favor

E. James--loses to pass first mind set, but will get his...

(Portis fits at 11 and D. Davis at 12)

WR's

Moss--Raiders could explode offensively this year

Harrison--Manning connection

J. Walker--Favre's target in his last year..

T. Owens--moves down as he holds out...

T. Holt--great hands and work ethic

C. Johnson--gets better as Palmer matures

Roy Williams--will be the star as other Williams and Rogers makes it impossible to cover him

Joe Horn--Brooks calls his number to keep his QB job...

M. Clayton--could move up if Bucs pick a vet before tng camp..could move down if Griese loses starting job in camp

Muhammad-even on Bears Mushin is a great red zone target and possesion WR..

JMHO...

What else am I doing right now

Top 10 WR

1. Moss

2. Owens, I think he reports

3. Chad Johnson make's the move into the big 3

4. Torry Holt

5. Reggie Wayne get's less coverage thus more opp's

6. Joe Horn put's up the #'s every year

7. Donald Driver this holdout thing by Walker might get messy

8. Roy Williams he was dominant early last year but now there's more competition

9. Hines Ward Roethlisberger will depend on him even more w/o Burress

10. Coin flip between Harrison and Jerry Porter

Top 10 RB

1. Tomlinson

2. Holmes comes back feeling good

3. Deuce McAllister bounce back season

4. Willis Mcgahee looked very strong last year and now the Bills have a new QB

5. Edgerrin James he's got to get more looks in the red zone right?

6. Corey Dillon

7. Clinton Portis

8. Jamal Lewis this guy could be the #1 at the end of the year

9. Steven Jackson

10. Lamont Jordan I think he gets a lot of red zone TD's this year

Top 10 QB

1. Culpepper losing Moss makes Daunte undisputed and he has something to prove

2. Manning will be spectacular but might not be as motivated to break records

3. Jake Delhomme made something out of nothing last year

4. Drew Brees has an offense built for him and has to prove he's no 1 year wonder

5. Marc Bulger has too many weapons to be out of the top 5

6. Tom Brady just too consistent to drop below some of the other QB's

7. Donovan Mcnabb this really depends on the Owens situation

8. Kerry Collins Moss and Porter means they will move the ball through the air

9. Trent Green I don't like this guy but he put's up numbers

10. Vick God help the NFL if Vick ever adds passing downfield to his arsenal

Julius Jones what he has he done and he's playing on a weak Cowboy offense that has Drew Bledsoe on it. If you know anything about me you know I don't like that combination.

Domanick Davis he could be in there for top 10 but then he hasn't been very consistent. It took him until game 12 to crack the 100 yard mark and he had 3 consecutive games where he got 31 yards or less. Sorry I don't see him on tv that much so I can't say impresses me.

Kevin Jones why everyone is on his side I don't know. He put up big numbers against some very weak defenses. The beginning of the year he didn't do anything. Took him until game 10 to get to 100 yards. He ran well vs teams like Minnesota, Indianapolis, Green Bay, Arizona and Chicago. What do all those teams have in common? None of them are in the top 10 in rushing defense. The best of the bunch is the Packers and they're ranked 14th in rush defense.

I do think the Raiders skill players will be better this year. They have an offensive line and good WR's. Kerry Collins is suspect and you never know what will happen week to week but now he is the undisputed #1 QB. There should be some improvement. Lamont Jordan is an unproven #1 RB but he is ready to be one and he has an almost 5 ypc career avg. I don't think any of the guys I put in the top 10 are that much of a reach............

I understand your observations on the RB's, however those guys have already produced. Jordan is more of an unknown given the backup role he played to CuMar. Not saying he won't be solid but to slide him into the top 10 already reeks of Silver and Black bias. I applaud your homerism but it won't help your fantasy team taking them too high.

Muck,

Can you tell me who you have from 9 - 15. I mean the Raiders haven't had a top 10 fantasy back in years (Charlie Garner had a nice season several years ago) and now all of a sudden an unproven Lamont Jordan is the 8th best fantasy back going into the season. What allows this lofty rating for him other than 'gut' feeling?

Edit: I like Jordan's potential however I have him somewhere between 13 - 16. Here are some guys I like more:

1. Tomlinson

2. Alexander

3. Green

4. Holmes

5. McCallister

6. Davis, D.

7. James

8. Lewis

9. Westbrook

10. Portis

11. Jones, J.

12. Jones, K.

13. McGahee

i'm tabbing lamont sanford/michael jordan to put up 1400 yds and 18 t.d.s. he will be the best rb this yr. i have julius jones winning the rushing title with 1500 yds and 16 t.d.s. deshaun foster is my 3rd ranked rb and i think he gets 1300 yds. buckhalter, will displace westbrook and run for over 1000 too. pittman keeps the cadillac on the bench in tampa and he responds with with 15 touches..........then...............crispirons awakens from his dream for his fusion runningbacks.

The raiders can feed a strong back at the goal line..Crockett used to scoop a ton of TDs and when healthy Wheatley used to do OK in the redzone so I think Jordan Will have a great year with no wheatley and if he gets the call at the goalline..Jordan is one of the hardest runners in the NFL IMO..The league Im in is very TD heavy so I may have him higher than someone in a more performance based scoring system.

Muck,

Can you tell me who you have from 9 - 15.

799573[/snapback]

Sorry Muck, I just realized you posted through twelve above. I think the four guys you have below him are better and Domanick Davis isn't listed and he was a top 5 back in performance leagues the last two years. Only time will tell and you must really believe it for a Chiefs fan to rate a Raider that high.

Sorry I'm just getting back to you, Puddy...

Lamont Jordan = top 10 RB because Moss and Porter will open up GIGANTIC holes for him to run through...plus he is a tough runner (5.0 ypc for his career)...plus he can catch passes (and, therefore, will be in for all three downs)...plus his size should enable him to do a good job of punching it in from inside the 5...

FWIW, my RBs from 13-20 would be as follows:

Cadillac Williams

Dom Davis (not higher due to injury concerns and potential pressure from Tony Hollings, et. al.)

Clinton Portis (not higher a ) because I'm not convinced that he's a 'gamer' and b ) because I'm not convinced that Gibbs knows what he's doing anymore)

Rudi Johnson

Tatum Bell

Tiki Barber (not higher due to age and Eli Manning, whom I don't like at all as a NFL QB)

Curtis Martin (not higher due to age and tremendous wear over the years, plus questionmarks at WR (Coles foot, etc))

Fred Taylor (not higher due to age and injury history)

Cedric Benson (TJones will see quite abit of time, which means neither one will be all that spectacular FF-wise)

...note...it's really hard to leave some guys out of the "top 20"...and I'm VERY certain that more than one of the top guys listed above will NOT be there at the end of the year...

BUT...ONE THING IS ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN...THAT THERE WILL BE SIGNIFICANT TURNOVER IN THE LIST OF "TOP RBs" FOR NEXT YEAR...

...the question is...who is falling and who is rising...

There is a mess at RB in CHI, MIN, ARI, CLE, TEN, CAR, SF, etc...and there is a pretty good chance that one of the RBs from one of those teams will be in the top 20 when it's all said and done...just I have no idea where to start? If I'd have to put money down, I'd put some money on Ontarrio Smith, Cedric Benson, Thomas Jones, Deshaun Foster and Kevan Barlow having a better shot at "top 20" production than Chris Brown, Michael Bennett, JJ Arrington, Lee Suggs, Ruben Droughans or Nick Goings. But, what do I know?!

At least Muck took the time to post his list, which is more than I can say for either of us Broncos. What's disappointing about it? The more points of view I see between here and draft time can only help me finalize my lists. You will see the results in the 4983 league :D

I see everyone has mcgahee High..What about ranking Tight ends?

Gates Witten Gonzalez Crumpler .Last year was a big bounce back year for tight ends.

If Shanny doesnt give away goal line carries on him I think Tatum Bell will be a stud next year..
