Rovers
I have read in two places now (sorry, no link) that Henry has a degenerative knee condition. I knew he had a knee injury before, in college, but this is the first I've heard of any sort of "degenerative" knee condition like this. Maybe this is why the Titans said that they think he has 4 years left to play? That statement seemed strange, given Henry's age, but this would explain an awful lot, like why he isn't worth a 3rd round pick. Anyone know more about this? Big Score 1
Never heard about Henry having a "Degenerative Knee Condition" before. Can't find anything from reputable sources that allude to it, let alone confirm it. That doesn't mean it's not true, or has no substance. I'll sure be keeping my eyes open for any info on this. spain
To be honest, I cant recall him ever hurting his knee in college at Univ of Tenn. I will do a little research to see what you are talking about..
Rovers
I believe I saw this mentioned only casually, on an AP report. It also showed up at KFFL. I thought it was wierd when the Titans GM said that he thought he had 4 more years left in him.
Outshined
I googled and found this: Travis Henry's injury history 01 and 02 did he have knee problems: 12/29/2004 Questionable Ankle 12/22/2004 Questionable Ankle 12/15/2004 Out Ankle 12/08/2004 Out Ankle 12/01/2004 Out Ankle 10/20/2004 Questionable Foot 10/13/2004 Questionable Foot 09/12/2004 Day-to-Day Cramps 09/08/2004 Probable Rib 11/19/2003 Questionable Leg 11/16/2003 Day-to-day Cracked bone in right leg 10/01/2003 Questionable Chest 09/24/2003 Questionable Chest 10/02/2002 Probable Knee 09/22/2002 Day-to-day Leg 01/02/2002 Questionable Knee 12/26/2001 Out Knee 12/19/2001 Out Knee 12/16/2001 Day-to-day Sprained knee

That seems fairly mild to be called knee trouble...
spain
Set UT career-records with 3,078 yards rushing, 556 rushing attempts and 14 100-yard rushing performances…only James Stewart (35) has scored more touchdowns rushing in a career for the Vols than Henry's 26…in 2000, was an All-Southeastern Conference first-team selection by the Associated Press and The Sporting News after starting every game at tailback and leading the team with a career-high 1,314 yards on 253 carries (5.2 avg.) and 11 touchdowns…only Jamal Lewis (1,364 in 1997) and Jay Graham (1,438 in 1995) ran for more yards in a season for the Vols…his 253 carries are topped only by Graham's 272 (1995) on the school's season-record list…ran for over 100 yards in six contests…appeared in every game as a junior in 1999, sharing tailback duties with Jamal Lewis…finished second on the team with 125 carries for 790 yards (6.3 avg) and eight touchdowns… played in every game as a sophomore in 1998, moving into the starting lineup for the last four contests. Rushed 176 times for 970 yards (5.5 avg.) and seven touchdowns…saw action in six games at tailback in 1997, finishing with 4 yards on a pair of carries. So, he played in every game as a sophmore, junior, and senior. And played in 6 games as a true freshman. Again, I am not saying he didnt hurt his knee in college, I just dont recall any serious knee injury at UT. Maybe you are mixing him up with Jamal Lewis... Trainer_Phil
You would be SHOCKED to know how many players have degenerative knee conditions. What teams try and do is hold them together as long as they can and get as much as they can out of them before their legs fall off (Terrell Davis and Marshall Faulk are great examples). Henry is good running back, but his knee has scared off interested teams. I'll have a report on him and the rest of the RBs sometime within the next week. Rovers
spain, I read where Henry had surgery in the off season on his knee between his freshman and sophmore years, but it must have been minor, as he never missed a game due to it. That is where the college knee thing came from.
