muck Posted June 15, 2005 Share Posted June 15, 2005 Brian Waters, the talented offensive guard, is telling the media the reason he wasn't at OTAs was because he wanted to spend more time with his family in Dallas. The speculation is that he wants more money. RUMOR: Waters will restructure his contract, add a few years and get a nice signing bonus in order to drop his cap cost this year ... so KC can use the extra $$s to sign Ty Law. IMPACT: Willie Roaf and Will Shields are old. Waters is not. KC needs to keep some continuity in the trenches, and would be well served to resign Waters. Adding Ty Law to a tremendously revamped defense would only help. ...unrelated rumor... Rich Scanlon, on loan to NFLE, is expected to be at (or very near) the top of the voting for Defensive Player of the Year over there ... and has more than a slim chance of being the starting middle linebacker in KC. Having another quality DB would make this defensive unit the biggest turn around and the kind of huge impact move the Chiefs need. I say do it.
