  1. And then they put Slaton back in, and he scored 2 TDs. That said, I'm a concerned Slaton owner, too, but I still think they're going to give Slaton more chances to heat up. And FWIW, I thought it was pretty clear that the ground caused his fumble last week.
  2. Seriously. Any "worst ever" conversation starts and ends with Dennis Miller.
  3. Nice breakdown, Matt. The only thing I would add is that after seeing them in camp, it looks like Eli is very comfortable going to Smith, borderline man-crush. Didn't hesitate to throw to him in traffic, lots of crossing routes. He wasn't getting the separation you'd like to see to break anything (no true deep threat unless Manningham steps up?), but he caught just about everything and could be a great later round (9-10) pickup as WR3, especially in PPR leagues. He went 10.4 in my main league (12 team, PPR). I'm looking forward to Barden's progression. He's a monster, and has great hands and looks like an easy runner. Add a little bulk and he'll be another Plax (hopefully w/o the baggage).
  4. heh heh, enough of this nonsense. Why don't you give us some info we can use, like Witten's status? Bwest manages to do a few charity events with broken ribs every year (for the kids), why can't the cowboy saddle up?
  5. Bench Mushy. 15 targets last week, only 6 receptions. This logic could backfire, but if I were Delhomme, I'd start looking somewhere else. Lynch is a solid start, the whole offense runs through him. If there's any argument, it would be that Royal doesn't get the # of receptions that Muhammed does, but I'd be inclined to go with the hot hand until proven wrong.
  6. All depends on how Johnson turns out, but so far he looks like a stud-in-waiting (especially in PPR). I think you're giving up too much, because that would leave you weak at the RB2 spot, and you've already got good WR depth.
  7. No. Welker is a proven commodity, and will still have the middle of the field to work in with Moss stretching the D. Cassel knows where to find him.
  8. That's what I'm pushing for -- Wayne averaged 15.9 points per week last year, Graham 15.4 (once he started in week 3). Of course Dunn wasn't there last year, but I'm not the guy without a starting RB. To Daughters . . . I know. I know. Just trying not to get hosed, since he's the desperate one. Thanks!
  9. Dang. I hate asking for trade advice -- you know, "opinions are like -ahem-, everyone has one." That said, I'm having a tough time walking away from this scenario: 12 team, PPR league. You can run 1RB and 4WR without having to use a TE, which is what the other guy drafted for. Unfortunately for him, he's a Denver homer and was relying on Young. Me RB: Lynch, BWest, Graham, Perry, Slaton WR: Holmes, White, Royal Him RB: Mendenhall, Morris, Young WR: Branch, Cotchery, Crayton, V. Jackson, Walter, Wayne, R. Williams The offer on the table is Wayne and Branch for Graham and Royal. Am I nuts not to do this? I can go 3RB and play WR-roulette as-is, and 2RB/2WR to work around bye weeks. But I'd love to have a stud like Wayne around so I don't have to try to guess which WR is going to blow up each week. Any thoughts? My concern is that Royal goes off to the tune of 80/1100/8, and Branch doesn't get back to form, in which case I've gotten an upgrade at WR (assuming Wayne is 100/1400/10), but thrown away a steady, if unspectacular RB to do so. If Branch comes back to be the solid possession guy he was (when healthy) last year, though, I've done well. And if Royal doesn't pan out (which I don't see happening), chicken dinner for me . . . Am I missing anything here?
  10. The Pitt D line just steamrolled them all day, so in that regard, you can't blame him. But if Rosenfels is more effective in short-drop and shotgun situations, it makes sense to go with him. The coach has to do what's necessary to win. I feel bad for Schaub, since the first 4 weeks aren't exactly QB friendly, especially without a running game to take some of the pressure off.
  11. That's right -- he had those same #s, 70/1000/8. See, I've tried so hard to keep young WRs off my radar . . .
  12. So, one of my rules is to stay away from WRs in their first two years. I've been burned buying into hype in the past, but . . . but . . . damn, why is there always a but?!? Let me set the scene for you: It's late in the draft. I'm weak at WR, so I take a flyer on this kid in Denver that everybody is raving about, Eddie Royal. I mean, come on -- it was the 16th round! And then Monday night happens . . . he runs crisp routes. He's in motion all over the field. He's used on running plays and option passes. He blows up. I mean, he was the only guy on the field they needed to worry about, and they couldn't stop him. But what's the likelihood of that happening again? Yes, Brandon Marshall is coming back this week, but is having someone to take the double teams away from you a bad thing? He caught 9 of 11 passes thrown to him, so the rapport with Cutler is there. And the maturity . . . finding first down markers, throwing the ball away rather than forcing his first ever pass attempt . . . This got me thinking about rookie WRs, and I was surprised how recently there was a relevant rook. 2003, Anquan Boldin. 101 receptions for 1377 yards and 8 TDs. Not too shabby. I'm not foolish enough to think Royal will put up those kind of numbers, but is 80/1000/7 unreasonable to expect? Thoughts? Then there's this Jackson guy over in Philly . . .
  13. If you had started him instead of Colston this week, people would pay a lot to get their hands on your tip sheet.
