  1. he’s a risk, even in the middle rounds
  2. Taylor could easily wind up being a real nice value.
  3. Derrick Johnson (LB, KC) – Though it’s difficult to rate rookies prior to training camp, DJ MUST have a huge impact for the Chiefs in ’05. David Pollack (DE/LB, CIN) – Don’t be surprised if Pollack explodes in September but wears down in November. The most instinctive football player in the draft. Thomas Davis (LB, Car) – A safety at Georgia, Davis is a vicious tackler that will have an early impact in Carolina on a fast LB corps . Odell Thurman (LB, CIN) – An oversight left off the original rankings, Thurman has drawn praise from Head Coach Marvin Lewis in mini-camps. DeMarcus Ware (DE, Dal) – Rookie pass rushers make immediate impacts every season, but Ware will have to be stout at the point of attack to play for The Tuna. Carlos Rogers (CB, Was) – Forecasting rookie cornerbacks in terms of fantasy value, in May, is a crapshoot at best, but Rogers joins a solid defense and should see plenty of action opposite Shawn Springs. Antrel Rolle (CB, Ari) – Has the pedigree, and Head Coach Denny Green isn't afraid to throw the rookies into the mix early. Slight upgrade as he’ll certainly receive quality playing time. Kirk Morrison (LB, Oak) – Can bring a toughness and run support skills to a depleted Raider LB corps. Matt Roth (DE, Mia) – Vastly underrated player. Look for a strong rookie season from the madman from Iowa. Adam Jones (CB, Ten) – I’d rate Pac-Man behind Rogers and Rolle as a player, though he should be a playmaker on the perimeter in due time. Darryl Blackstock (LB, Ari) – A 3rd round sleeper that will look to make an impact as an edge rusher in the desert. Lofa Tatupu (LB, Sea) – Some consider the USC standout a bit of a reach selection, but the Seahawks need young playmakers along the front seven. Shawne Merriman (DE, SD) – Maybe I watched the wrong games, but Merriman looked ordinary at times last season, however, he has a great situation in San Diego. Channing Crowder (LB, Mia) – Shoots up the list if he's half as good as he thinks he is, or if the city of Miami bans all nightclubs for 2005. Kevin Burnett (LB, Dal) – Constant motor and has the size Bill Parcells craves for the position. Marlin Jackson (CB, Ind) – Destined for a back-up role in early ’05, Jackson has enough talent to make an impact as the season progresses. Has been impressive in camp, this might be too low. Stay tuned. Josh Bullocks (S, NO) – He'll go get the ball and could start for New Orleans in a puzzling secondary. Jerome Carter (S, Stl) – A hitter, and should have a chance to make an impact in a shaky Rams secondary. Slight demotion behind Bullocks do to increased competition in St. Louis. Chris Canty (DE, Dal) – Possible 4th round steal that battled injuries late in his college career but could be a terror off the edge. Fabian Washington (CB, Oak) – One of the fastest players in the draft, now let's see what happens when he's blocked. Vincent Burns (DE, Ind) – Too many situational pass rushers already in Indy, but "Sweet Pea" could make a push. Marcus Spears (DE, Dal) – Dallas is building a strong DL rotation for the future, and Spears and Canty will be in direct competition in ’05. Travis Johnson (DT, Hou)– A good player at a low-scoring fantasy position, especially for rookies. Erasmus James (DE, Min)– A suddenly deep Minnesota D-Line is a boon for Vikings fans, if not fantasy owners. Ryan Claridge (LB, NE) – Well, you know he'll be coached. 5th round selection at a need position in New England. Michael Boley (LB, Atl) – Active, quick and undersized. Could make an impact alongside Hartwell and Brooking. Brady Poppinga (LB, GB) – Moved to LB from DL in his senior season. Keep an eye on him early in camp. Corey Webster (CB, NYG) – I'm a fan of his talent, but he has tough competition in Will Peterson and Will Allen in '05. Justin Miller (CB, NYJ) – Another DB who will go get the ball in the air, and is a dangerous return man. Competitive position in the Meadowlands. Antajj Hawthorne (DT, Oak) – At least until the next drug test. A first round talent drafted in the sixth. Mike Patterson (DT, Phi) – Nothing like throwing in a bonus pick due to sheer stubbornness. The more I think about the Eagles defense, the more I realize he’ll be a situational player as a rookie (Copyright 2005 by ******* . Printed without permission.)
  4. It has to be somewhat daring.....yet realm of possibility. I will make 3 prediction that I believe will be both surprising yet happen. #1 USC will lose at least 2 games this year. #2 Florida will win the SEC Title #3 This will be Joe Pa's last year as Head Coach of Penn State Football. ok Gents make your predictions
  5. I have been pumping up these guys the entire offseason. I've been drafting these two in almost every league. I think these two will have breakout years but the hype is starting to spread. I have seen other sites and have read other articles that echo my expectations. By the end of August, Palmer will not be of great value either. I'd love to have Jones as my #2 RB in my big money league come late August, but it is not going to happen. Anyone else frustrated?
  6. My top ten is a little different but time will tell the story. Tony Gonzalez Antonio Gates Jason Witten Jeremy Shockey Alge Crumpler Todd Heap Randy McMichael Dallas Clark Eric Johnson Jeb Putzier
  7. PITTSBURGH (AP) - James Henry Smith was a zealous Pittsburgh Steelers fan in life, and even death could not keep him from his favourite spot: in a recliner, in front of a television showing his beloved team in action. Smith, 55, of Pittsburgh, died of prostate cancer Thursday. Because his death wasn't unexpected, his family was able to plan for an unusual viewing Tuesday night. The Samuel E. Coston Funeral Home erected a small stage in a viewing room, and arranged furniture on it much as it was in Smith's home on game day Sundays. Smith's body was on the recliner, his feet crossed and a remote in his hand. He wore black and gold silk pajamas, slippers and a robe. A pack of cigarettes and a beer were at his side, while a high-definition television played a continuous loop of Steelers highlights. "I couldn't stop crying after looking at the Steeler blanket in his lap," said his sister, MaryAnn Nails, 58. "He loved football and nobody did (anything) until the game went off. "It was just like he was at home." Longtime friend Mary Jones called the viewing "a celebration." "I saw it and I couldn't even cry," she said. "People will see him the way he was." Smith's burial plans were more traditional - he'll be laid to rest in a casket.
  8. The Bills led the NFL with 39 takeaways and 10 TDs on defense and special teams. That sort of stuff doesn’t always repeat from year to year, but there’s no mistaking the fact that this is a solid group. I have them ranked at 3.
  9. Good stuff, when will you be reporting back again?
  10. Get a hunting dog, German wire hairs are great house dogs and they love water and will retrieve until you cant throw the ball any more and they make great hunters as well. The other plus about them is they dont shed, you only need to strip out there under coat 3 times a year. Oh yea there very good with children, the one thing about a true line of gun dog is they are bred to be good around other dogs and people, where a watered down Lab or show dog may or may not be good and don't get one from a backyard mutt breeder.
  11. He would be crazy to hold out and not get paid 6.32 million dollars. It may not be full value...but its better than a DONUT.
  12. Wow... my top ten is a lot different then the Huddles. 1 LaDainian Tomlinson 2 Priest Holmes 3 Shaun Alexander 4 Kevin Jones 5 Willis McGahee 6 Edgerrin James 7 Rudi Johnson 8 Domanick Davis 9 Ahman Green 10 Jamal Lewis
  13. Why would anyone want to put a rub on a good steak?
