  1. I would like to second (or third) recommend Fantasy Underground. Underground focuses on 4 to 6 players and discusses their play and what a potential future may hold. PFF Fantasy is similar to Fantasy Underground. Not quite as well edited and thrown together, but not bad for a minor player.
  2. Sproles role in the passing game is very important to the Saints. Brees simply cant throw more to Graham, Colston, or Moore. The Saints obviously know that Sproles is very good at catching passes and his usage reflect this. But Sproles also keeps the defenses honest and allows Graham, and to an extent Colston, to not be double teamed as much. If Sproles is catching passes, the Linbackers and Safeties have to pay attention to both Sproles and Graham and cant cover both as well. Without Sproles, Graham could be used less becuase he is covered better. The Saints understand this and one of the running backs will still get those catches. Some of us are hoping it will be Thomas. Realistically, it could be Cadet, Ivory, Thomas and Ingram.
  3. Just wondering everyone's thoughts on Pierre Thomas going forward. Most fantasy sites are predicting a few more carries and/or possibly taking a much larger role for the Saints. In the past Thomas has excelled with a larger role, but only for a short period of time. Years past, Thomas typically got hurt or a running back (like Reggie Bush) came back and Thomas' role was reversed back to normal. This year, the Saints have Mark Ingram, Chris Ivory, and Travaris Cadet. In the pre-Season, Cadet was utilized similarily as Sproles. Ivory, like Thomas can be a beast at times when given a larger role. Ivory is also a free agent at the end of the season. Ingram has been a disapointment but could still vulture TDs. The Saints remaining schedule looks pretty average. Thomas could be a valuable roster stash until it is known what his usage will be. But he could also be a nice trade candidate that could potentially return a low end WR2 or be combined for something better. I am a bit worried that the Saints may see what they have in Ivory, Cadet, and Ingram, especially with their record. Another loss and the Saints' play-off chances will be pretty slim.
  4. To be honest, you are listening to Mathew Berry too much. If you agree with his strategy, then you drafted well. Most of your picks, except for Turner, were all recommended by Berry. His strategy gives you strong a QB and TE, good to very good WRs, but average to poor RBs. If you truly want to replicate Berry's choices, stick with SJax in the 3rd and a WR in the 4th. Berry loves SJax this year and hates Turner. The only opinion I have of your mock is that Berry tends to finish average to below average at the end of the year when you compare is pre-season rankings against others.
  5. I am sure that I read this earlier in a different thread, I just cant find it now. So sorry for the double info. It has nothing to do with KC, but rather his son. According to Lee Corso and several others, Charlie Weiss, Jr is a coordinator at U. Florida. Charlie Weiss wanted to be with his son and family, so he asked for an interview. He was hired and will start working with his son now that the Chiefs were eliminated. One of several articles when you google is this from ESPN: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5981991
  6. I have been offered Thomas Jones and Santanna Moss for Peyton Hillis and Chris Cooley. Thoughts? I dont really need Moss and i like Hillis, but the week 8 Bye is killing me. I lose Hakeem Nicks and Roddy White. I also lose Hillis, Bradshaw, and Michael Turner. I am left with Lynch and Garcon and a bunch of waiver wire duds like Keiland Williams and Lee Evans. I know not to make a trade just for one week. But I cant afford to lose and lose badly.
  7. Just looking through the play-off schedule, Denver has a very easy schedule for weeks 14, 15, 16. Even weeks 10, 12, & 13 (St Louis and KC) could be considered good weeks. With the way Orton has been throwing, defenses will not be able to stack the deck to stop the run. Moreno should have lanes to run through. Buckhalter and Maroney are not exactly lighting it up. Moreno should get 20+ touches a game if he could ever get healthy. The big question is, can Moreno get healthy and stay healthy. RBs with hamstring injuries dont bounce back quickly. Considering his hamstrings have basically been injured since August, is he even worth stashing away? Possibly if he sits for another week or so, he could be healthy by week 7 to face the Raiders. Add in the rest from his bye week and Moreno should be healthy for the Fantasy play-off stretch. Thoughts?
  8. The Panthers have to get better, right? They cant remain this bad all year. Williams should get more touches per game. Insane that one of their only offensive weapons only gets 10 touches. The passing game was bad last year and Williams still ran the ball well; even with Stewart stealing touches and TDs. Jeff Otah should return in week 7. That should open some holes. That said, Williams value seems to be next to nothing. Stewart has done nothing, but is still stealing carries and TDs. Goodson appears to be the 3rd down RB. So there is a triple headed monster in Carolina. A Pre-Season predicted top 10 RB has to have some value, even if name only. I know that Williams is only worth what someone else is willing to surrender. But is he worth a Jamaal Charles, Jahvid Best or even a Peyton Hillis? Charles is sharing carries with Jones but is still ripping some long runs. So I would say that Charles has more value. But Best is already hurt. Hillis has one big game. DeAngelo should get more then Best or Hillis straight up, shouldnt he?
  9. Am I crazy for trading Tom brady for Matt Ryan and Vincent Jackson? It is not that I think Brady sucks after one bad game. I just need help at WR and think VJ is going to have a great year. QB scoring is typical. 4 points for a TD, 1 point every 20 yards. My current WRs are Anquan Boldin, Lee Evans, Bernard Berrian, Justin Gage, and Jonathan Knox.
  10. Rotoworld has Cadillac Williams starting the Bucs next Pre-Season game. It further adds that the there will be a 3 headed monster between Ward, Graham, and Williams. If that is the case, at least early on, none of those guys can really be counted on as a true RB2. What a headache.
  11. We did post at the same time and i caught most of the comments. Thank you. I competely forgot about distribution. Last year in San Diego, everyone either was hurt or simply not catching the ball. So VJ became one of Rivers' main options. VJ helped Rivers have a great year and vice versa. I think most sites are assuming that Rivers equals last year. Rivers threw down field allot last year. Sproles also broke a few for long gains. There appears to be allot of weapons in San Diego that all need touches. If LT is a top 10 RB, he will get <>60% of the touches (carries and receptions). That leaves 40% for Gates, VJ, Sproles, Chambers, etc. Is that enough to propel VJ into the top WR 15? I guess we will have to wait and see.
  12. Thank you for the reply. This is probably why the Huddle has him at 38 versus 17(ish). It all comes down to how LT is valued, maybe Gates as well. Since the Huddle is high on LT, it seems that they believe he will at least match or beat last year's numbers. If he does, then the value of VJ should decrease. Since Gates was hurt much of last year and had a down year compared to his other years, he should take catches way from VJ as well. But if LT is truly done or continues to digress and Gates' off year was due more to declining abilities then to injuries, then VJ should be a top 15 WR. Lots of if's. Toss in Chambers and Floyd and you have a mess. I will stick with Derrick Ward. He may be in a 2 or 3 headed monster, but with the money he is getting, he should see carries. What he does with those carries remains to be seen. Thanks for the info.
  13. VJ has had two DUI's in the past two years. The second coming in early January. He has appealed the decision and is trying to postpone the trial until after the season. There have also been rumors that he could be suspended by the league for 1 or 2 games if he is found guilty. All that is from early August. I have not been able to find any updates since then. So I am probably answering my own question. As for questioning the other sites, since most sites have him top 20 except for Huddle, the crowd logic seems to be that he is going to have an above average season. It is also his contract year. So the better he plays, the more money he makes. That always seems to be motivation. So I wondering why the Huddle has him at 38 versus why everyone else has him around 17? As for TO and DUI's. Dont really know. From your comment, I can infer that he has not. I was trying to find a comparison between the two. Owens has a negative reputation as a cancer. Right or wrong. I was wondering if VJ has the same reputation from the multiple DUI's.
  14. I am curious to find out if anyone knows why the Huddle ranks Vincent Jackson so low (38). I know it is a matter of opinion, but most other sites and magazines have VJ ranked in the top 20, mostly around 16. I have seen him as low as 12. I am cuious as to why the discrepency. He is a big WR with speed. One site even compared him to a young TO (appropriate with all of the DUI's I guess). In a Keeper league (no draft yet), I have been offered VJ for Derrick Ward straight up. I like Ward and would not mind keeping him, but his situation in Tampa could go either way. VJ appears to be the WR1 in San Diego and one of Rivers favorite targets. After what VJ did to Asomugha last year, he has me intrigued. Any ideas?
  15. Would you trade Frank Gore for Brian Westbrook and Kevin Jones? The 49ers offense is looking confused and Alex Smith has not appeared to progress much from last year. With the Steelers and Ravens arriving in the near future, i can't see the offense getting any better until at least week 7. That said, Westbrook was an injury concern all of last year. He looks healthy now, but McNabb looks rusty. Kevin Jones is said to be healthy and progressing, but that was a major injury for a RB. KJones could be a steal. If not, it comes down to Gore versus Westbrook.
