  1. I think I will do the trade. It depends on how I feel when I wake up in the morning. That's when the gut instinct really comes into play. Ah, life is good when a FFL trade is the most important issue on my mind. bweiser831 brings up a really good point that I really don't need to do the trade and I should try to get a second player with this trade. OK, I'm bragging here, but the fact is, the rest of my lineup is solid. I have Collins and Delhomme for QBs. CINN and KC for defense, loads of RBs, and Troupe for a decent TE. My WRs have been the dominating force in my dominating team (scoring the highest in each of the last three weeks.) If one of those WRs get hurt, then my scoring will most probably go down. The other guy doesn't really have anyone I want, with the exception of P. Manning and Harrison. And I'm pretty happy with my QBs. I don't need to do a trade NOW, but I don't want to be in a position to NEED to do a trade NOW. The other guy is hurting and I'm not. This is the best trade position to be in. This offer is sounding better by the minute!
  2. Starting Lineup: 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 Flex, 1 TE, 1 DF, 1 K. RB: S. Davis, W. Parker, P. Holmes, M. Moore, L. Johnson, C. Benson, V. Morancy WR: T. Owens, Chad Johnson, Steve Smith, Matt Jones Scoring: RB/WRs– 1 pt/ 10 pts rushing and passing; 6 pts / td Offer: Someone is offering me Marvin Harrison for Willie Parker. I will make counter offer with Moore. But in case he doesn't take it, should I take the Parker/Harrison trade?? My Thoughts: Though my starting lineup on WRs is strong, its really thin with only M. Jones as a filler. With Harrison, I will still be solid on RBs. I could even start Harrison as a flex. And if one of WRs gets injured, I'll be ok. I would love to have some advice! Thanks in advance.
  3. Thanks! I think both of the posts are right. I'm sticking with Holmes.
  4. QBs: Collins, Delhomme RBs: Holmes, Davis, W. Parker, L. Johnson, C. Benson, M. Moore, V. Morency WRs: T. Owens, C. Johnson, S. Smith, M. Jones. TE: B. Troupe, A. Smith K: R. Longwell D/ST: KC, CIN Starting Lineup: 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 DEF/ST, 1 Flex for RB or WR. I am in two leagues, and in this league, I am absolutely happy with my starting lineup… Collins, Holmes, Davis, Parker, Owens, Johnson, Smith, and 2 solid DEF/STs. I am thin on WRs after my starting three. I am thinking about trading Holmes for Peyton Manning (the team with Manning is hurting big time with RBs.) I like to get some feedback on this possible trade. Stardard scoring in a performance/td league. Thanks!
  5. And after saying not to trade Culpepper, I went to another site and read that Culpepper may have a knee injury that Tice decided not to mention. This is the link to the news article and I'm posting part of the article. Hope that's ok...I'm a newbie. http://www.startribune.com/stories/510/5624069.html Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper played Sunday's game at Cincinnati despite an injured right knee that has caused mild concern within the Vikings organization. Although Culpepper was not among the players the team acknowledged as injured Monday -- a list including receiver Nate Burleson, free safety Darren Sharper and linebacker E.J. Henderson -- he was seen wearing a tight elastic brace around the knee Sunday. The team has not revealed the exact nature of the injury, but coach Mike Tice alluded to it during his pregame radio interview Sunday on KFAN (1130-AM). Tice indicated the injury occurred during the season-opening loss to Tampa Bay. Culpepper was not listed on the injury report because the injury did not force him to miss any practice time, but it might have played a role in his decision to run only twice for 10 yards in the Vikings' 37-8 loss to the Bengals. Culpepper did not address the injury during an interview with reporters Monday. He suffered cartilage damage to his left knee during the first game of the 2001 season and eventually had season-ending surgery after 12 games
  6. If I had Culpepper, I would bench him, but I wouldn't trade him. It is just way too early to do that. I do have Moore, and I'm benching him, but his value is too low to trade him. The potential for both is there. I think the problem has to do more with the execution of the offensive line, and there's a chance it can still come together.
  7. I drafted Jones with my last pick in two drafts. My feeling is that he probably won't make a fantasy impact right away, but in a few weeks or in the last half of the season, he will. I had the best drafts ever since I started five years ago, and barring lots of injuries, I can afford to hold on to Jones. That's the question you have to ask yourself... can you afford to keep Jones as a benchwarmer for a good part of the season? If so, take the chance and grab him.
  8. I like Benson, but he plays for Chicago, and he is getting a late start with a poor team. And he is still somewhat of an unproven player. I would have to go with Parker because he plays for a better team, and he proven himself. I picked up Parker in the tenth round and I picked up Benson in the 6th, so I'm biased after the first weekend. Parker got me 32 points while Benson sit on my bench for a few points. If Parker was playing for Minnesota under Tice, I might say go with Benson. But Willie is playing for a no nonsense coach, and I think he will be seeing a lot of time on the field.
  9. That could happen! I never thought much of Staley after his first season. Didn't the Steelers pick him up to replace Bettis? .... after a beer, I have to backtrack and say that one great game doesn't make that a trend. Perhaps Willie had his 15 minutes of fame. My beer gut says otherwise.
  10. I have to take a dissenting view, too. 1. Priest has gotten injured in the last two seasons. He might be at the point where this might happen every season. 2. Bettis is older than Priest! Can one really think that Willie will be taking a back seat for long? 3. Rothensberg (sp) threw 11 passes in the last game. It was only one game, but it looks like the Steelers will be focusing more on the run this year. (Of course, so will the Chiefs.) 4. Looks more like to me that Priest will share the ball more with LJ than Willie will with Bettis. 5. You have Larry Johnson. Can you see yourself starting both Priest and LJ? FF isn't about the status quo. To be successful, one has to spot the trends, and take advantage of them. Had to edit this because I misread your first post, and thought you could trade Priest for Parker. My points are still valid (at least to myself). I wouldn't trade Parker for Holmes.
