  1. Painter played pretty good in his last pre-season start if I remember correctly (yeah, he was freaking awful in the first couple). It made sense for them to bring in Collins, but they handed him the reins too quickly. HIndsight is 20/20, but I really thought at the time (when they signed Collins) that they should have stuck with Painter to be the starter. Why bring in a journeyman QB at the end of preseason to lead your team, especially when Painter was showing signs of progress? Collins is a savy vet, but he's no Favre. It was a panic move and it failed miserably. I'm with gilthorp...it's too early to say Painter can't get it done, but will the Colts give him a real chance? The season is just about lost and they should let this guy play some unless he's totally ineffective (see McCown/JAX).
  2. Drafted J. Charles in first round. Drafted S. Jackson in second round. Drafted Schaub in third round (yeah, probably a reach but didn't expect Texans defense to be so good) Drafted Cedric Benson (facing suspension) Drafted Malcom Floyd as #3 WR (injury prone, had him last year, will never draft again) Remorseful that I attempted fantasy football this year.
  3. I would be pissed if I was going against Moss and/or McNabb and lost because of this play.
  4. The Redskins should not have even had the opportunity to kick that XP. They got an extra down after McNabb threw incomplete on 4th and 4 (sideline markers were WRONG). They (officials) tried to say later that the first down pass from the 12 to Anthony Armstrong resulted in a 1st down, but I replayed the catch and they marked him at the 3 (which would make it 2nd and 1). 2nd down was an incomplete pass, 3rd down was a run of -3 yards, followed by the incomplete pass on 4th down. Then McNabb hits Moss for the TD on the next play. The only way they can justify this is that Armstrong was not touched down at the three, but that would mean he scored on the play.
  5. That checkdown has been there most of the game...guess Flacco forgot about last weeks success with throwing it to Rice.
  6. That's why I didn't bench him.
  7. Last year Jackson went for 4-101-1 and 6-149-1 in the two games Kolb started. I think you should throw out the first game when Kolb got hurt. I'm guessing the protection isn't as good as last year, but Jackson is too much of a threat to bench.
  8. I have no idea how this game plays out. It's hard to gauge whether the Boys can actually play a clean game (no stupid mistakes, limit turnovers and missed opportunities). I know it sounds homerish, but I totally believe Dallas wins if they play a clean game because they have more talent and a better defense. I had a strong feeling last year going into New Orleans that Dallas would win. I kicked myself for not putting some action on that feeling, but betting on your team is usually a bad idea. I do not have that kind of feeling for this game. This year's Cowboys are a complete mystery to me.
  9. Turnovers and mistakes cost the Cowboys this game. Two of those INTs were flukey plays. The missed field goal was killer. Roy was having a good game until that bad fumble. Not sure why coaching should take the blame for this.
  10. Jackson and McCoy at RB. OUCH...WR doesn't look pretty. I would go Driver and Dez.
  11. I like Foster and Jackson. Houston's offense is for real. They are healthy (unlike Dallas) and have way too many threats for the Skins to slow them down too much. I think Charles may be a little hit and miss becuase the Chiefs don't have much of a passing game to open up the run game. Charles may break a long one or two, but he's a riskier play than Foster IMO. Besides you will be kicking yourself if you leave Foster on the bench and he goes off again. I think you're right on with your take on Mendenhall. If you really want Charles in your lineup I would bench Jackson instead of Foster, but I expect the Packers to go up big early on the Bills and run the ball a lot in the 2nd half.
  12. I would go with Jackson. Packers will jump on Bills and then run Jackson all day to keep Rodgers from taking any unnecessary punishment. D-Mac has a decent matchup, but I expect a lot of punting in a low scoring game.
