  1. Have to disagree. Williams is killing me too and I don't expect much more from him today but I don't have the Green-Ellis option. Taylor is sitting and that makes BJ the more likely option in a yards league.
  2. Jackson and Jennings are WR1 no-brainers IMHO. Clayton has had 22 looks with 15 catches for 204 yards in two home games this year against fairly week defenses. I'd expect more of the same today but am hoping for a score since I'm starting him in a TD-heavy league.
  3. Well, turns out Wilford was the right choice. I'm up 21 points going into Sunday. My opponent has T Jones and the Bears Def. I figure if the D stays out of the endzone this may be my year!
  4. (#&!&$#@$(!!!!! I need a TD from Smith!
  5. Engram, I think Seatlle is going to have a blowout today. Indy is a mess and so is the field. Any help with mine? http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=136951
  6. Yup, Engram. The rain is supposed to let up.
  7. Need one more flex player for all the marbles. Jordan, D Davis, G Jones are all out. I have Chris Brown, who supposedly will start, and Ernest Wilford. 15 yards/point + TDs. Any suggestions? I know I just recommended Brown in a previous post but that guy's situation was different.
  8. If Brown is actually starting he's the better odds. At least he's potentially playing for something. Stecker won't do squat. Smith might, but with a new interim coach in Detroit, the easiest way to show some immediate improvement in a bid for next year is to shore up the run defense, and you can bet the Lions will do that. If Brown get some playing time in he's at least likely to score some yardage points. Good luck!
  9. I agree Dillon is the better choice, if that's all you have to work with. Gado is playing better than anyone expected considering his credentials, but Fisher is playing as well and with Gado's propensity to cough up the ball, he could find his carries cut quickly if he lays down a fumble. Also, the Pats are fighting for their playoff life vs. Buffalo, while (my beloved) Packers are simply playing for personal pride at this point, so I would think the Pats game plan is more predictable. Plus the Bills run defense is atrocious. Detroit's isn't much better, but with the Pack having the #30 run offense this year and the #8 passing offense, I think we all know where the ball is going in that game. Green Bay didn't even manage a TD in their previous meeting with Detroit this year, and that was before they were completely decimated by injuries, so four running backs and a right tackle injury later (plus playing in the traditionally low-scoring December frozen tundra), it's very unlikely any back for GB will find the endzone. The biggest risk is that Bilicheck pulls another bait-and-switch with Dillon and ends up not playing him, or only puts him in for a series or two. I think that's very unlikely this week since the Pats absolutely need this win, and with Faulk and Pass both playing hurt, they don't have too many other options. The Pats have three of four tackles playing injured (plus Graham at TE), so I would think either option plays or straight up the middle will be the game plan for Sunday, both of which (IMHO) favor Dillon. Good luck!
  10. You need to read through your league's rules very carefully. Every league I've ever played in had a clause that permitted the commissioner (or in some cases, an owner or quorum of owners) to void a transaction, decision, or action on the part of another owner when malfescence or poor sportsmanship was evident. Assuming your league has said rule, you need to exercise it as soon as possible. At the least you should notify the commissioner and other owners in writing (or email) that you protest the action, and identify the kicker you would have picked up. Do it before first kickoff today. That way if the action is overturned on review later, you have some ground to stand on as to your original intentions. Good luck. BTW, I lost Rackers too, and he is also my only kicker. In our league though, there are no transactions whatsoever allowed after week 12 (to prevent dumping). So much for my season
  11. Most points scored (IMHO). That's the first tiebreaker in my league (after W-L). Points differential gives unfair advantage to teams who draw weak opponents. That being said, if your league charter states differential is the third tiebreaker, then that's what you have to use. Do your rules clarify whether this is for the whole year, between the three teams, or overall? One thing we're considering doing for next year is to use power ranking W-L-T instead of points differential at all, since this gives you a fair weighting against opponents for all teams, so if you have a team whose record is higher than it should be because they have faced weak opponents, then this evens things out in the case of ties going into the playoffs. For example, I'm in a 10 team league with the second highest-scoring offense, but am only tied for the 4th best record at 6-6 because I've given up the second-highest number of points in the league (of which I have no control over!) . By power ranking I'm second, with a 67% W-L against the league as a whole. Teams shouldn't gain an advantage twice for having weak opponents (once for beating them, and another for gaining a high differential ranking).
  12. Here's an interesting stat on McCareins: he has 13 career TDs. Only 2 have been against playoff teams (Oakland & Philly), and both were in his rookie year with the Titans. I dunno', he isn't having much of a year but I agree Bollinger will be chucking up balls this week, so McCareins could come down with a few of them. FYI - I only knew this because I was thinking of picking him up this week and ended up grabbing Coles instead.
