Commish: Writers and Such: Overview: As the league progresses to the start and throughout the years, I will update here the rules that CBS does not provide. Payouts: Here is what the winners will be getting! Money: 12 teams x 25 dollars = 300 dollars League = 130 dollars (170 left) League Champion: 100 dollars (and trophy provided by CBS) Runner-Up: 30 dollars Division Winners: 10 dollars x 3 winners = 30 dollars League Pick'Em Winner = 10 dollars Schedule: A season will consist of 14 weeks of regular season and 2 weeks of playoffs. During the 14 weeks, you play 6 games against your division (each team twice), 4 games against the other division in your conference, and 4 games outside of your conference. Tiebreakers: For playoff ranking, the tiebreakers will be the following: 1)Head to Head Record 2)Points Scored 3)Top players fantasy points For a Game, the tiebreaker will be reserves total points The first part of the season will be the College Draft: During the college draft, you may pick any seven players, freshman to senior, QB, RB, WR, TE, K currently on a college team. They can be in D-I or D-III, whatever you want. You will hold their rights until however long they get drafted into the NFL. Once drafted into the NFL, you have choices in which to offer your rookie a contract. You will offer a rookie a contract based off draft position and draft round. The following is the chart to determine what you can offer your player. Round Drafted In - Contract Years To Offer -Money To Offer Round 1 - Between 2 and 4 years Picks 1-16: 20 dollars Picks 17-32: 19 dollars Round 2 - Between 1 and 3 years Picks 1-16: 17 dollars Picks 17-32: 16 dollars Round 3 - Between 1 and 2 years Picks 1-16: 13 dollars Picks 17-32: 11 dollars Round 4 - Between 0 and 3 years Picks 1-32: 8 dollars Round 5 - Between 0 and 3 years Picks 1-32: 6 dollars Round 6 - Between 0 and 2 years Picks 1-32: 4 dollars Round 7 - Between 0 and 1 years Picks 1-32: 2 dollars Anyone drafted within round 1-3 who you want to retain must be offered a contract from the grid above, but can be cut later and added to auction pool(see add/drops). Anyone drafted within the fourth rounds or lower can be dropped with no penalty and will be added to the auction pool The Auction, Salary Cap, and Contracts: To begin each season, there will be an auction style draft to determine which players will go to which team. Each team will be bidding on players using their money that have in their salary cap. The salary cap for year 1 (2006-2007 season) will be set at 500 dollars. The salary cap will not raise for the first couple of years. You will be bidding for 10 starting positions and 9 reserves, for a total of 19 players. You may not go over 500 dollars while bidding for players and you must have 14 players by the end of your auction. After the auction is complete, you will assign contract years to each players contract. The players contracts can range between 1 and 5 years, and will be set at 42 years. A player will look like this during the season: Peyton Manning: 5 year contract, 30 dollars Trades: Trades may be done between any team in any division in any conference. The league website only allows 2 team trades, but I am allowing you to do a 3, 4, or even 16 team trade. If your trade involves more than 3 teams, please email me the trade. All trades will go through the Commissioner’s office for approval. During the season, you may go over the salary cap to acquire players, but must get your cap number back to the normal by the designated times. Add/Drops: All additions during the year will be added for 1 year, 1 dollar contract. Anyone that is dropped you must negotiate a contract buyout with your player. The buyout will be depended on how much money you are paying a player, not number of years left on player. The buyout will effect your cap. (Example: I have 180 dollars in free money, I drop a 10 dollar player – I must pay 8 dollars and I get 2 back – I have 170 dollars in active contracts + 8 dollars in buyouts + 22 dollars to spend = 200 dollars) Here is the following rates (note: any number with change in it will be rounded to nearest whole number – 6.49 = 6 dollars and 6.51 = 7 dollars): 1 dollar: No buyout 2-5 dollars: 100% buyout 6-10 dollars: 80% buyout 11-20 dollars: 60% buyout 21+ dollars: 50% buyout The buyout of a player will be waived in the off-season if you want to add a college player or players and have a full roster. Any cut will be free and they will be placed in auction. Remember, all money to players is signing bonus money – therefore, they will either get it all or a buyout. Buyouts will last a year on your salary cap, and through the season, but then will be replaced after seasons end. Resigning: One part of being a GM is resigning either one of your up and coming players or one of your rookies you had success on. Here is the following ways to resign a player. For players coming off their rookie contract: Up to 5 years of contracts, will take the average of the top 5 fantasy players in position dollars, minus 15% discount. (For example, you want to resign Reggie Bush. Top 5 running backs average 50 dollars, minus 15% (or 8 dollars rounded up), you will pay Reggie Bush 42 dollars). For any other player: Up to 6 years of contracts, will take the average of the top 5 players in position, plus will add: 25% if he is in top 5 of points (example: Peyton Manning, if top 5 QBs including himself averaged 50 dollars last year, if he was #2 scorer, you would pay him 65 dollars). 15% if he is in top 10 of points (example: Micheal Vick, if top 5 QBs averaged 50 dollars, if he was #8 scorer, you would pay him 58 dollars) 10% if not in top 10. (example: Kurt Warner, if top 5 QBs including himself averaged 50 dollars, and he was #12 scorer, he would make 55 dollars next year). Salary Cap Penalties: There are only two times you need to be at or under the salary cap. 1) Before the auction and 2) before the beginning of week 1. Any team not under or at 200 dollars when the auction starts will lose their top salary player and will not be able to bid on that player during the auction. Any team not under the 200 dollar salary cap come week 1 will lose their top money player and that player will be disqualified from the league for a year, being able to be bid on by any team the next season.
