  1. Here's the deal if you order Madden 25 Special Edition ( $99 ) Basically, if you are not currently a DirecTV subscriber you can get Sunday Ticket on your laptop or mobile device. In the FAQ section and in a forum dedicated to the topic DirecTV confirmed that you do not need to subscribe to get it. Those that are already DirecTV subscribes seem to get hosed again, they only get a code bumping them up to the Max package plus some credits. So as a non-subscriber to DirecTV I get the game ( usually $60 ) plus Sunday Ticket on my laptop/iPad for only a little more. I ordered the game ( which I would have likely done anyway ) and I get the Sunday Ticket for a total of $99, seems like a good deal. From the description on Amazon.com; Exclusive Offers From DirecTV 1. For fans who are not currently DirecTV subscribers but are able to receive DirecTV service, they will receive a promo code entitling them to $10 off per month for their first year of service and one year of NFL Sunday Ticket Max at no additional charge. 2. For fans who are already DirecTV and NFL Sunday Ticket Max subscribers, you can access NFL Sunday Ticket on your computer, tablet, and mobile devices using your current DirecTV username and password. 3. For fans unable to receive DirecTV service, each Madden NFL 25 Anniversary Edition will include a unique code to access the 2013 regular season (17 weeks) trial of NFL Sunday Ticket on computers, tablets, and mobile devices- including access to the award-winning Red Zone Channel. * edited to fix junk text from cut and paste
  2. The Bears are just a bunch of mean jocks that want to watch the fat kid run around Read nothing into the tryout, they are also hosting Trent Edwards and Jordan Palmer which let's you know how seriously they are looking at these guys. The Bears are just kicking the tires while they wait for the call to bail Evan Rodriguez out of jail again.
  3. I need Peyton Manning and Tony Gonzalez to take a pre-game trip to Taco Burrito King order up the macho burrito combo and a side of menudo ( no not the Ricky Martin Menudo or the huddle's own Menudo unless Peyton and Tony are into such things ) and spend the entire game in the bathroom from tragic intestinal distress. It's really not all that bad, they can take along their iPads and watch the game or a few movies, just don't forget the Charmin extra soft. I am up 20 done for the week and facing these two. This is what I get for losing Hernandez to injury, starting Jamaal Charles, and Dan "one point" Bailey. Then again maybe I should go to TBK and take my loss and intestinal destruction like a man.
  4. I was wondering if anyone has had their dynasty rookie drafts yet and what the results were. I have been trying to plan out my drafts and was hoping to see where players seemed to be going. Thanks
  5. I need 15 from the Bears D/ST ( 6 per TD 1 per fumble or INT no credit for yardage ) Here's to hoping the Devin Hester will be extra ridiculous tonight. But I'm not holding my breath. Thanks Beanie for the stellar week.
  6. I have the 4th pick in an upcoming 10 team PPR and I find myself heavily leaning towards Charles in KC over Rice, AP, Foster ( who I assume will be gone by the fourth pick anyway ) My thinking: Charles is young and relatively low mileage, Thomas Jones ( genetic freak workout warrior not withstanding ) is only getting older and seems to be fading away in the game plan. Bowe and Breaston should keep defenses honest. Lot's to like here. Foster is a beast, and has no real competition for touches. Slaton and Ward are there mainly to give Foster a break. We do not yet know what Ben Tate will bring but for now is does not seem to be a threat. The only problem if one is to be found is that he gets hurt, eventually that will catch up with him. He is still a very solid pick . Rice is also in a good position to succeed but runs against some of the toughest defenses you are going to see. Still a work horse with Ricky only really provided a breather when needed.
  7. Thank you all for the input. I ended up doing the original deal of Vick and Britt for Romo, Bowe and Boldin. We tried to work out something that included AJ Green but it started to head towards big messy deals that really didn't make sense for either side. We are still working out another deal just for AJ Green. For those that asked about moving Manning instead, I have been try for the last year and a half but the feeling I get back from this league is that nobody wanted to take on a 35 year old QB in a dynasty format. Despite the fact the Manning was the number 1 overall last year in this scoring system ( Foster the number 3 overall and first RB ). My overall feeling on the trade is that although I take a step back on who is essentially my backup QB, Romo is very consistent in his scoring output is the roughly same age as Vick and his style of play suggests he likely will highly productive longer than Vick. Bowe can be maddening or explosive, with Charles toting the rock and Breaston/Baldwin balancing the coverage on the other side he has a chance at 26 years old to have some prime years coming up. Boldin is just a steady old guy, nothing flashy but now that Mason has moved on some of the receptions should shift back to him ( assuming he doesn't also draw all the coverage ). Britt will be a good and maybe even great player if he can manage to stay out of jail and off suspension but my team needed some stability. Now if I can swing the AJ Green deal that would start looking good. Thanks again.
  8. Well the NFL had has it's player movement frenzy and now it gets to be our turn. I received two trade offers in a dynasty league from the reigning champ for Vick plus WR's. I definitely need the help at WR but I am torn on which QB/WR combo to accept in return. QB's seem to score well in this league and although Vick was a monster last year injuries, scheme and the revamped Philly D makes me think Vick might not be as active this year. Britt is a knucklehead ( but a very talented one ) Trades: I get Romo, Bowe, Boldin and I give up Vick and Britt or I get Cassel, Austin, Boldin and I give up Vick and Britt PPR, 1 pt per 10 rec/rush, 1 pt per 25 yard pass all TD's 5 pts some other small bonuses for rush or pass attempts My roster QB: P Manning, Vick RB: Foster, S Greene, Benson, Ingram, D Murray, Woodhead WR: Britt, S Smith CAR, S Smith NYG, Gaffney, E Sanders, M Thomas, Driver TE: Witten The only other receivers of note on his roster are Marshall, AJ Green and Gates I think I am leaning towards the Romo/Bowe one but any thoughts would be appreciated
  9. Barber will be the short yardage and goal line back the Bears need. Other than at the goal line he shouldn't hurt Forte all that much in terms of touches. Last regular season Forte had 288 total touches while Taylor chipped in 132 total touches, Lovie and company are very stubborn when it comes to their scheme and players they like to have on the field and I don't see that changing much. This could spell the end for the 31 year old Taylor, but then again at the low price they are paying they could keep all three for depth. Forte $550,000 this year ( this should increase when/if they give him the new contract they promised to avoid a hold out ) Barber $5 million over two years Taylor ( 4 year deal started last year ) $1.25 million base this year plus some bonus money Of course unless the do something about the pathetic state of the junior varsity level offensive line no running back will thrive and we'll be having a memorial service for Cutler.
  10. 12 team dynasty, butt ugly team of hard working SOBs. I owe Danny Woodhead and Danny Amendola a drink; Final week starters bold QB: Vick, Fitzpatrick, Kolb RB: Tolbert, Woodhead, M. Bush, M Goodson, Caddy Williams, CJ Spiller WR: Andre Johnson, Amendola, Avant, S. Moss, Rice, Roy Williams, N Washington TE: Dallas Clark, Jimmy Graham PK: Tynes DEF: Chargers Finished 6-7 in the regular season and just managed to get hot at the right time. I could use the money so the prize comes at the right time. Congrats to all other Champions
  11. I need 31 from Vick and my choice of Avant or Sidney Rice ( thanks to AJ not being able to play ). 5 pt per TD, PPR 1 pt per 10 yards rush/receiving i pt per 25 yards passing It is going to be very close, I may need to bust open the bourbon just to make it through the game. I hope that the lure of keeping pace for the #2 in the NFC motivates the Iggles to keep Vick in the game.
  12. My sorry dynasty team made it in to the superbowl with a victory over the number one seed today and set the high score for the week. It just goes to show all you need is a chip and a chair, stay alive long enough and your team might get hot. Now to get one more good week out of Vick, AJ and Moss to win the big prize... My lineup; QB Mike Vick RB Mike Goodson RB Mike Tolbert WR Andre Johnson WR Santana Moss WR Danny Amendola TE Jimmy Graham PK Lawrence Tynes DEF San Diego Bench; Sidney Rice Dallas Clark ( Injured ) Cadillac Williams CJ Spiller Michael Bush Ryan Fitzpatrick
  13. I wasn't going to, he's just too manic. That said, I lost Steve Smith (NYG) according to the other post saying he is out this week and poof MSW makes his return to the line up. I hope for another explosive week but fear I will be treated to zero catch on 1 target day again.
  14. What is most troubling is the number ( or lack ) of targets. Week 1: Zero catches on two targets Week 2: Ten catches on twelve targets ( most late in garbage time ) Week 3: Two catches on eight targets ( he sucked but at least was getting looks ) Week 4: Zero catches on one target So target-wise which weeks are the anomaly? I would hate to drop the turd just to have him come raging back later.
  15. I like Freeman. You will have to juggle starts by what the match ups dictate and hope that the young WRs don't completely no show week to week. With Caddy to balance things a bit Freeman has the skills to be a good fantasy QB.
