  1. Exactly (except it was "her" question). And where are we today? My benched non-studs (Grant and Jones) earned 35 and 23 pts, respectively. Now I must chew my fingernails until Sunday to find out if my "stud" SJax and oft top 10 rated MJD can beat these two. It seems like MJD does well on my bench but sucks when I play him so he has been on the bench of late. I started him this week (is he borderline stud, best of rest?) so blame me when he trips over his shoelaces in warmups and gets a Lisfranc injury. And Ryan, grated, a rookie, has yet to have a really bad game. So does a rookie need a whole season to approach "stud" or can you call it now based on success of team and likelihood of 1) being ahead and 2) picking up pts/rec from Favre? When does the fact the Rams suck impact SJax "stud" status? So I played Driver a known stud and left Galloway on the bench again. This is good news for Galloway owners. He should do well. But this time out my "stud" Driver got me studly points. Sure I'd like to see him in the endzone but this week was way better than the less than 10 pts I got in a past week. One person suggested the stud on your team is the person whom your peer owners know as your team. I have Romo. So that is my calling card. Other than that this is my first year not sucking so I don't think I'm "known" in the league. I think folks are surprised when I win. They expect to beat me. So we wait for Sunday and add that data to the stud calculation.
  2. I post this as I now have 4 viable options at RB and 4 viable options at WR. I seem to get burned every week with one or more of my "studs" being out performed by the new guy or the guy with the match up. So we always say you have to play your studs. But how do we know they still are the studs? When does the flash in the pan become the stud? Share your criteria for stud-dom and removal from stud-dom.
  3. Ok. Am I missing something here? Are interest rates now some kind of code for football strategy? I think there is a bank in London in need of cash . . .
  4. Struggling with the Studs vs Match-up question All the projections tell me Delhomme (v hou) but Romo's got the Torch placed . . . as you said Perhaps goofiest is the rankings of Galloway (v NO) & Driver ahead of Reggie Wayne . . .but it is Reggie Wayne!!! Then look at Green Bay's def. They get to play a double whammied NYG. While the New Eng D (aren't these guys my studs?) are playing the Chargers who are out for some serious vewngeance, self appointed to serve the spying champs a double scoop of justice. Dare I play Green Bay D over the New England D? I guess I should be thankful my kicker is out so I don't have to make a choice! But wait, nick folk is on the waiver wire . . . perhaps a swap out for josh? Ahhhhhhhhhh. Bring me some sanity. Thanks for any guidance or thoughts.
  5. I picked up Foster from the waiver wire this week. . . . but I let him sit on the bench today.
  6. What is up with Week 7? I had a problem with week 7 in more than a few positions. I made a 5 player trade to relieve an issue I had at RB with SJax and Frank Gore. I wish I had Gore back. I wish I would have waited to see where I was come week 5 or so before I made the deal. I am eyeballing some others though with bye issue to try and coax a trade to improve some depth - esp def and pk.
  7. I did bench Brady last week for McNair. About an hour before the deadline, I revised my lineup and put Brady back in. He is an amazing QB. He may not always have the ff numbers but he is talented. This week McNair has Cleveland with Brady in Denver. I hate Denver. Quandary, it is.
  8. Considering picking up the Ageless One from the wire. Should I wait to see how he does, get him active for this week's game, or checkout other recently dropped PKs? My current pks are Nedney and Dawson (must carry 2) - the wire also has Gostkowski, Scobee, Brown (hou), Hall, Nuygent, Rayner, Suisham.
  9. I'm down 32 with only miller tomorrow. I think it will take at least 2 TDs & 5 rec for 140 yds. Can we get the same ref from last time?
  10. Picked him up but let him sit. If I'd played him I would have pulled Antonio Bryant not Boldin. I'm happy he played well and is still the apple in Drew's eye.
  11. Pick 1 Stud RB: Barber Pick 1 Stud WR: S Smith Pick 1 PotLUCK: M Bell
  12. Jackson is the # 1. I play my studs. Your certainty on Bell calms me a bit. Thanks!
  13. The Davis acquisition in STL gives me a sick feeling. Shanahan makes me sick too. I acquired Mike Bell in a trade for Gore (part of a 5 player package) because I had the bye week issue. I am taking a lot of smack talk from a few in our league that I have no depth or am super weak at RB. I tried to shop Hasselbeck for Cadillac Williams but the guy never wrote me back so I went with a different trade (included Wayne for Boldin). Should I just stop reading message boards and wait for the season to start?
