  1. McGahee has gotten the bulk of the carries so far.
  2. Hey all, I apologize in advance for the long post. So... a couple of days ago, I posted asking which of my three WRs was the best play for the #2 WR slot on my team. (Reggie Wayne is my #1 receiver.) The replies that I received suggested that Eddie Royal was the man for the job. I played him tonight and it paid off big for me (25 fantasy points in tonight's game). Thanks! Now, going into Sunday, I have a few options, since I still need to field 2RBs, 1WR and 1 Flex Player. Assuming that I play Reggie Wayne as my other receiver, then I'm all set at WR. I also have Lance Moore and Marques Colston on my roster, either of which could play in the flex slot if I wanted them to. The notion of putting Colston in that spot is appealing, because I feel like he's finally going to break loose one of these weeks. But this is a "MUST WIN" game for me this week, and I really can't afford him to have yet another sub-par week if I do take a chance on him. For running backs, I have Ladanian Tomlinson, Ray Rice, Willis McGahee, Deuce McAllister, Aaron Stecker, Darren Sproles and Chester Taylor. It goes without saying that LT will be my #1 RB, especially since he appears to have his mojo back, and is playing against KC. One possibility that I'm considering is starting BOTH Ray Rice and McGahee (inserting one of them in the RB2 slot and the other in the Flex slot), since they are both banged up right now and will likely be sharing carries. I guess this is appealing to me because—as long as they are playing—they are both good for 10-12 fantasy points. This is not to mention that Rice had that monster week last week and the Ravens are going up against Houston this week. I can very easily see both players potentially each getting 80 yards and a 1TD... that is, if they are both healthy enough to play. Another option is to start Deuce McAllister as RB2 and then choose EITHER Rice or McGahee to take the Flex slot. The problem there is trying to determine who will get more carries between the two. Again, with both Rice and McGahee tagged as "questionable" on Sportsline, its a very tough call. I don't really see Taylor, Sproles or Stecker factoring into my starting line-up this week. QB: Eli Manning RB1: LaDanian Tomlinson RB2: ? WR1: Reggie Wayne WR2: Eddie Royal Flex: ? TE: V. Shiancoe K: Gostkowski DEF: Green Bay Any advice would be very much appreciated!
  3. My #1 WR is Reggie Wayne. I need to start at least one other WR, and possible two others (if I play a WR in the flex slot). My options: Eddie Royal Marques Colston Lance Moore Royal has been inconsistent. Seems like (his Week 1 performance aside) he either gets around 10pts. per week or next to nothing. Denver plays in Cleveland on Thursday night. Marques Colston was my top drafted WR pick, but he's been a dud so far this year. He's been injured for all but 2.5 games. And in those games, he hasn't fared well. His best performance so far is 56 yards. That said, I hate the idea of not playing him and having this week be the week that he finally shakes off the cobwebs. The Saints play in ATL this week. Like Eddie Royal, Lance Moore has been inconsistent so far this season. Seems like he either has a big game or does nothing. I'm concerned that with Colston healthy again, Moore won't see much playing time this week. Thoughts? Suggestions?
  4. In an effort to try to "ice" (psych-out) the kicker. Blew up in the coach's face this time around. I hope the Jets win, in spite of Favre's lousy performance today.
  5. OK, just saw the replay of his second INT. Looks like Cotchery blew the play, not Brett. But still, the dwindling production and the INTs don't help.
  6. Christalmighty, what is this guy's fascination with throwing jump-ball passes?
  7. I have the Packers DEF/ST currently active. But with them going up against the Colts, I'm a little worried about them losing points if the Colts run up the score. I have the option of picking up the Jets Defense, which I'm considering since the Jets play the Raiders this week. The Bills Defense (hosting San Diego) is also available to me. And I could also pick up the Miami defense since they are going up against the hapless Ravens this weekend. Should I stick with the Packers or try a different Defense this week? League Scoring: Sacks 1pt, Fumble Recoveries 2pts, Interceptions 2pts, DEF TD 6pts, Safety 2pts, blocked kick/punt 2pts A shut-out game earns 12 points, 3 points allowed yields 10 points, 7 points allowed yields 8 points, and so on...
  8. Thanks for the replies. Has anyone heard any updates on AP's status today?
  9. Well, I'm facing a particularly tricky quandary this weekend. AP is going to be a game time decision and if he does start, he's likely to wind up sharing a lot more work with Chester Taylor? Should I choose one of them? Play them both? I also have Selvin Young, who has shown some decent numbers but who is sharing time with two other Denver RBs. There's Brandon Jackson, who has shown that he's capable of filling in brilliantly for Ryan Grant. Problem is, it looks like Grant will be starting tomorrow (though I still expect Jackson to get more carries than he normally would in his back-up role). And then there's Darren Sproles... whose fate is intertwined with that of Ladanian Tomlinson. And of course, the Chargers aren't saying much about Tomlinson's status before the MNF game. Any thoughts?
  10. I dropped Ricky and picked up Sproles. LTs owner has NO ONE of interest/value to me, so for now I'll hold on to Sproles and monitor the situations in San Diego, Denver and Green Bay. I might start Brandon Jackson this weekend if Grant is still hurting/limited. Though it would mean running him against the Dallas DEF. Otherwise, I'll just give Young another week unless LT is definitely OUT for Sunday, in which case I'll play Sproles. The thing with Selvin Young is that, while he's playing as part of a 3-headed running back, he's been getting a lot of garbage yards/scores towards the end of the games. But I can't count on that to continue to happen.
  11. Bump. I'm not opposed to dropping Todd Heap but would like to hear more feedback.
  12. I was in the same situation earlier today. I ended up dropping Ricky Williams and picking up Sproles. That said, the only reason I was willing to drop Williams outright was because A) The Dolphins run game is atrocious; Williams is sharing time with Ronnie Brown and C) Williams is not so tantalizing an addition to any team that there's much worry of another team swooping him up before next weekend. (So if he were to suddenly have a huge game, I've got an excellent shot at getting him back [we operate on a first come first serve basis and I'm online right at 9am Tuesday when the add/drop system "unlocks."]) All of that said, I think you're giving up too much by dropping Harrison. He's had two slow weeks, but the Colts WILL get their act together relatively soon. Even if he doesn't have his typical "Marvin Harrison" numbers, he should fare better than most of the other receivers you have listed. What about Eddie Royal? Yeah, he's hot right now because of Week 1 (which was played without Brandon Marshall). But in Week 2, he hardly ever saw the ball. All but two of his fantasy points came on the final drive (the one which the Broncos shouldn't have gotten but did thanks to the botched fumble call) and the TD and 2PT conversation which ended the game. Sproles is tough because when a toe is concerned (as is the case for LT), some players can function pretty well on it while others can let it hamer (or even end) an entire season. So while its almost a sure thing that Sproles will be seeing MORE playing time than usual, you can count on it. But as for him getting the bulk of the carries at some point, I'd say the odds are 50/50 at best, especially since LT was already saying today that he WILL be starting next weekend. Just my two cents.
  13. I see that a lot of analysts are high on Bryant Johnson (WR, San Fran) right now. Is it worth dumping Todd Heap, David Patten or John Carlson to make room on my roster for Johnson? Or better to hold off one more week to see if he's the real deal, and hope that no one else catches on?
