A case can be made either way. Romo showed moments of brilliance last year but surely did not do enough to convince everyone he is the next coming of Troy Aikman. If you subscribe to this then Quinn might have been a good choice. Consider the fact that you would be paying your back up QB more $$$ than your starter and if TR does perform well you end up trading a 1st rounder away as Quinn isnt looking to sit on the bench behind a young, good QB.
On the other hand Demarcus Ware had 11 sacks last year and Anthony Spencer/Greg Ellis can easily add that many from the other side. As a matter of fact, in Wade's more aggressive style 3-4 I think a great argument can be made that Dallas could have one of the highest sack totals in the NFL next year. I think that if Spencer looks strong Ellis will be gone in '08 and Dallas will have it's OLB's set for a long time to come.
They shored up the FS spot where they were burned deep and often last year. Hamlin isnt the end all but it is surely an upgrade and with the added pressure on the QB it should help the entire secondary in general.
Now, the most important point of the whole enchilada...the Cowboys get 2 first rounders next year and most likely one of them will be top 10 and maybe even top 5! If Romo doesnt live up they pick up a QB early and maybe a Safety later. If Romo does perform then Dallas will have many options and really be in a strong position.
