  1. 12 Team, re-draft - 20 starters, 4 on the bench 1. What was your draft position and who did you draft? Drafted 10th. A bunch of what seemed like really weird picks at the time (Brady, Roethlisberger, T.O) led to Westbrook, Gore and Parker still being on the board when the guy picking at #9 was up. I was all set to pick Westbrook, but he selected Maroney ( ) so I jumped at Gore instead. In hindsight, Westbrook obviously would have been the better pick over the course of the season, but Gore was huge when it mattered, helping me seal my playoff berth in Week 12 and providing solid point totals (PPR league) during the playoffs so I'm fully satisfied with my choice. This was the rest of my draft: 2. (15) Reggie Bush RB 3. (34) Edgerrin James RB 4. (39) Andre Johnson WR 5. (58) Matt Leinart QB 6. (63) Mark Clayton WR 7. (82) Deion Branch WR 8. (87) Darrell Jackson WR 9. (106) DeMeco Ryans DL 10. (111) Bart Scott DL 11. (130) Trent Green QB 12. (135) Owen Daniels TE 13. (154) Brandon Jackson RB 14. (159) Adrian Wilson DB 15. (178) Aaron Kampman DL 16. (183) Chris Hope DB 17. (202) Carolina DEF 18. (207) Leonard Little DL 19. (226) Daunte Culpepper QB 20. (231) Jacoby Jones WR 21. (250) Zach Miller TE 22. (255) Mason Crosby K 23. (274) Devin Hester WR 24. (279) Jay Feely K 2. What was your regular season record? 8-5 3. What seed were you in your playoffs? #4 4. How many players did you start in your SB that you actually drafted and who are they? Just 5 out of 20 - Andre Johnson, Deion Branch, Frank Gore, Owen Daniels and DeMeco Ryans. I would have started Crosby if the weather was better and Reggie Bush if he wasn't injured. 5. What were the key free agent moves you made? Marques Colston. Somebody got too impatient. I endured one crappy week of Colston before he blew up against San Fran and I never looked back. Derek Anderson D.J. Hackett for the three weeks he was healthy. Aaron Stecker was HUGH in the playoffs. Seattle defense and Kenny Watson in the Super Bowl. Patrick Willis 6. What were the key trades you made? Edgerrin James for Kurt Warner. I drafted Leinart very early expecting him to put up the numbers Warner did down the stretch. The QB controversy in Arizona blew that plan up and somebody snapped up Warner. I loved 'Zona's schedule down the stretch, hoped the other guy wouldn't notice the schedule or would be too worried about Warner's health, and would be enamoured by Edge's big name and overlook his lack of production. He took the bait, and I rode Warner to the title. In my league, Warner was the highest scorer for the last five weeks of the season. MVP! MVP! MVP! 7. What was the line up you started in the SB? QB1 Kurt Warner QB2 Derek Anderson WR1 Marques Colston WR2 Andre Johnson WR3 Deion Branch RB1 Frank Gore RB2 Aaron Stecker W/T Javon Walker W/R Kenny Watson TE1 Owen Daniels TE2 Marcedes Lewis K1 Jeff Wilkins K2 Mike Nugent DEF Seattle D1 DeMeco Ryans D2 Jon Beason DL1 Patrick Willis DL2 David Harris DB1 Jermaine Phillips DB2 Gibril Wilson This was my opponent's team --> QB1 Tony Romo QB2 Jon Kitna WR1 Larry Fitzgerald WR2 Derrick Mason WR3 Roydell Williams RB1 LaDainian Tomlinson RB2 Adrian Peterson (Min) TE1 Vernon Davis TE2 Desmond Clark W/T Kevin Curtis W/R Brandon Jacobs K1 Nick Folk K2 Phil Dawson DEF Indianapolis D1 E.J. Henderson D2 Thomas Howard DB1 Antonio Cromartie DB2 Nate Clements DL1 Andre Carter DL2 Barrett Ruud All in all, my first year playing Fantasy Football after more than 2 and a half decades of playing, watching and coaching the real version has been an experience full of ups and downs, with both good luck and bad, and rookie mistakes being offset by a reasonable understanding of the real sport. I would have been happy just making the playoffs but winning it all has been the cherry on the cake. I'm not sure if I'll be doing it again next season before it gets too addictive but we'll see how it goes.
  2. Studs: Warner Derek Anderson Stecker Kenny Watson Patrick Willis Seattle's defense Duds: Marques Colston Deion Branch DeMeco Ryans
  3. I need Javon Walker to hold a 76 point lead against Tomlinson and Cromartie.
  4. Philly's website is the only source which says he's inactive. Everywhere else (NFL.com, the Saints' site, KFFL, and Rotoworld) he's not listed amongst the inactives. EDIT: D'oh, too slow.
  5. 12 Team Yahoo - 20 Starters QB1 Kurt Warner QB2 Derek Anderson WR1 Marques Colston WR2 Andre Johnson WR3 Deion Branch RB1 Frank Gore RB2 Aaron Stecker W/T Javon Walker or Jabar Gaffney (haven't decided yet) W/R Kenny Watson K1 Jeff Wilkins K2 Mason Crosby (might roll with someone else if the weather is bad) DEF Seattle D1 DeMeco Ryans D2 Jon Beason DL1 Patrick Willis DL2 David Harris DB1 Jermaine Phillips DB2 Gibril Wilson
  6. I've played/watched football for 25 years. Finally decided to take a stab at FF and I've made it to my league's final as a rookie.
  7. We start 2 QBs in my league. I'm going to have to go with Anderson along with Warner seeing as my only other options are Lemon or Redman. The good news is my opponent's starting Braylon Edwards. The bad news...he also has Jamal Lewis
  8. Teams in League - 12 (20 starters per team - 11 Offense, 2 Kickers, 1 DEF, 6 IDPs -; PPR league) Teams in Playoffs - 6 Did Brady team make playoffs - No (final record 5-8) Top scorers in the league: 1.Tom Brady - 694.35 2. Tony Romo - 590.27 3. Drew Brees - 522.03 4. Brett Favre - 519.13 As you can tell, the league's scoring is incredibly biased towards QBs. Still, only the guy owning Tony Romo made the playoffs. The Brady owner was a real piece of work. He didn't turn up for the draft (Yahoo league), but still ended up with Brady, Plax, Holt and Winslow plus other decent contributors like Shockey, Jason Campbell (we start 2 QBs), Norwood (return yards count) and Lendale White (who he let rot on his bench in favour of DeAngelo Williams). Him missing the playoffs wasn't because of any bad luck in H2H matchups. Problem was, because Yahoo's rankings for IDPs are a joke, he ended up with crappy IDPs - practice squad players and even guys not in the league. He didn't make an effort to pick up any IDP FAs and there were a ton of contributors left in the pool. Because of Brady and the other studs, he would never get blown out but he'd always lose by 30 or so points which could have easily been made up with a proper defensive team. He posted on the message board so it was not like the guy never checked up on his team. Joke. He ended up being a major spoiler down the stretch though, knocking two teams out of the playoffs and ruining one guy's bid for a bye (the same guy I beat this week in the playoffs).
  9. Just checked the other scores for giggles. I am the number 4 seed and, as the high scorer this week, I would have beaten both of the bye teams. In fact, the top seed would have lost to any of the other teams had he played this week.
  10. Down by 26. He's done, I have Colston and Stecker in a PPR league. Back in Week 5, I was up by that exact same score (26) against this guy going into Monday Night despite losing Trent Green and Deion Branch to injury on Sunday. He had Owens, Crayton and Lynch and I had Evans. He ended up winning by 14 points. Here's hoping Karma plays her role. I wouldn't have had to worry about this had I started Trufant over Winfield or Jermaine Phillips, and Seattle's D over Dallas'.
  11. I've been fairly lucky with regard to injuries (though maybe not performance). Started with RB1 - Gore RB2 - Bush Flex - Edge Bench - Brandon Jackson Traded Edge for Grandpa Warner (I play in a QB friendly league) and now I have RB1 - Gore RB2 - Bush Flex - Chatman Bench - Mini Adrian Peterson and Samkon Gado

I need the Dolphins starting halfback (whoever it is - I have Chatman, Williams and Cobbs) to hold a 94 point lead against Ted Ginn, Jr. and Jason Taylor and seal my playoff berth
  13. Need Gore, Hackett and Patrick Willis to hold an 11 point lead over Burleson, Battle and the Seattle DEF. They're holding out so far, but I'm going to be extremely annoyed if that "catch" by Battle at the end of the first half costs me when it's over.
  14. This is probably what the Jag fans were talking about last night. The player in question is Reggie Nelson, but the consensus is that he was nothing more than a witness.
