  1. He'd consider it because he gains more overall from the trade. Right now his RBs are producing horribly, by far in the bottom of our league, by upgrading he gets a huge points boost there while he doesn't receive a huge dropoff at WR.
  2. So one owner in my league is super weak at RB and super strong at WR. He drafted that way and has sort of been handicapped by it throughout the season. My team is pretty balanced right now. He's been trying to get Ryan Torrain for a few weeks now, sent a few different offers. He obviously needs help at RB. He offered Steve Johnson for Torrain but I declined. It doesn't make sense for me when I'm not too strong at RB myself (Moreno and Forte are kinda risky still). So I was thinking what if I offer Torrain for both Calvin Johnson and Greg Jennings, and maybe package in Tony G from my side. It makes him better because he has a ridiculous amount of receivers and will still be strong there while gaining a #1 RB. For me I'd have too many WRs but maybe could package them to pick up a back from someone else. Then again I might just screw myself over. I think it'd be great value but would take a lot of things falling together to work, thoughts? My Team: QB Jon Kitna RB Adrian Peterson, Min RB RB Ryan Torain, Was RB RB/WR Knowshon Moreno, Den RB WR Dwayne Bowe, KC WR WR Brandon Lloyd, Den WR TE Jason Witten, Dal TE DP Jerod Mayo, NE LB DP LaRon Landry, Was S D/ST Rams D/ST, StL D/ST K Ryan Succop, KC K BENCH Matt Ryan, Atl QB, Michael Crabtree, SF WR, Marques Colston, NO, Tony Gonzalez, Atl TE, Matt Forte, Chi RB, Santonio Holmes, NYJ WR, Jay Cutler, Chi QB His Team: QB Schaub RB Justin Forsett RB Danny Woodhead RB/WR Calvin Johnson WR Pierre Garcon WR Kenny Britt TE Mercedes Lewis DEF Titans K Sebastian Janikowski Bench Randy Moss, Greg Jennings, Mike Wallace, Steve Johnson, Jabar Gaffney, Brent Celek, Clinton Portis
  3. *Team in Sig* I'm trying to decide whether to play Bowe or Crayton in my WR slot and also whether to play Moreno or Torrain in my flex spot. Colston hasn't done anything but its still a good matchup for him, Bowe finally had a good game but he's so inconsistent. I'm a huge KC fan and I know the talent Bowe has but hes only flashed it, plus KC as everyone should know is a run first team as well. I'm leaning Colston and maybe Moreno at this point, thoughts?
  4. Alternate Idea: Open the issue to your league, majority wins
  5. Steve Johnson? Um yeah I'd take Crabtree even though he's only had one good week
  6. I disagree with the talent assessment, I think Knowshon is extremely talented but he's not running in the old "Denver-Shannahan" scheme so it's going to be a little different. Seeing the dropoff in production for Maroney and Buckhalter should give you at least a hint that maybe Moreno is not the problem. Also I wouldn't count KC as a weak and easy run defense anymore. They are top 5 in rushing defense so far, and although they may not remain at the top they have a lot of young talent on defense, and Crennel emphasizes stopping the run. Add to that that KC is more competitive in general and I highly doubt it will be as good of a matchup as you're anticipating.
  7. I don't like it, why dont you try Fitz for ward straight up? I like Hines Ward but its so much of an unknown I think his upside is good but so is torain's. Fitz is kind of in a funk with the QB situation but hes still prob top 3 talent wise in the NFL
  8. Both are risky prospects. Forte suffers from SLS (Shi**y Line Syndrome) It's obvious he still has skills, you can see that in his receiving game and his movement in the open field, but if you watch Chicago half the time he gets the ball and theres either no hole or he has a defender on him right away. Best has all the talent to succeed but he's still a rookie, I think he'll probably have more boom/bust games than Forte to be honest but if he can stay healthy no reason he can't have a bunch of exiting plays.
  9. I'm guessing you start 2 WRs and not 3? You could argue either way against Bowe, Bowe is kind of a boom or bust at times and its very possible he could score against the colts but I'm a huge KC fan and if the chiefs want to win that game it has to be through the ground. Cassel hasn't been connecting much with Bowe but there was promise in the last game and the talent is definately there. I think Holmes will be big, and will surprise some, I have high hopes from him. Whether he can jump in day one and produce is a little risky but he has to have a decent grasp of the offense by now. Tough call but my choice would be between Bowe and Holmes, not Williams
  10. I think it's fair as well BUT My general view on trades is this. I don't believe in vetoes. Obviously collusion is one thing, but hopefully if you're in a league with friends no one is a big enough douchebag to worry about that. But if it's a factor I guess it's one argument. The reason I don't believe in vetoing is similar to what others have said earlier -- Everyone has their own team and should be able to do what they want. So what if there is one guy who has a "rep" for trading away stupidly or giving up players, he can be the AL Davis of the league first one to get to him should be fair game. In the NFL, lots of trades aren't seen as "equal" by other teams in the league but they don't have much of a say in it and it comes down to the two teams involved in the trade that matter. People made a big fuss last season when I bought low on Forte. Everyone whined about it but you know what? he sucked for most of the year and it ended up working out better for the guy everyone was criticizing. So you never know what will happen. Let people decide what to do with their own teams, that's why it's fantasy football, that's why it's fun. Vetoing is ridiculous.
  11. Alright so you have Dustin Keller so you don't "really" need Tony G, I like Keller a lot and he'll have some down weeks but for a TE he gets a lot of targets and there is no denying his talent. Jahvid Best I like a little better than Fred Jackson, even with the recent trade. I liked best from college time and I just think hes a dynamic playmaker, hopefully he can stay healthy. Jackson shouldn't be bad but Buffalo is such a mess. Driver and Boldin are close but I like Boldin better. Driver has hit the endzone more consistently but Boldin just has to be the target in baltimore. I think you could argue either way on this one but I like Bolding better. So so far i like your deal it gets down to QBs Schaub and Vick for Rivers and Hassleback. I hate Vick for what he did with the dogfighting and I personally refuse to own him but if he can keep the starters job in Philly he's a huge asset in fantasy. Hassleback is useless in my mind but since you have Rodgers you don't need em. You;re league also is heavier than standard in weight towards QBs (20 instead of 25 yards, 6 pts instead of 4) so you definately want to keep a premium there, How many teams are in your league? Your team looks good either way but I'd probably do the deal, depends highly on how you view Vick though I think.
  12. Yeah i was about to say you made a great great steal trade, i like Moreno but really for Fitz that was ridiculously good. But with this added info, plus you getting Moreno back, thats just collusion and frowned upon. So good deal on paper, but actually its a pretty cheap shot to the rest of your league
  13. Depends on the other teams in the league, who the heck did you trade because..... CJ > Portis all year long Brady > Hasselbeck all year long so couldn't have been buy lows?
  14. I've been big on Colston all year but i'd have to say hes equal with AJ or AJ might be a little ahead. I'm not sold on Mendenhall (even though i have him in both my leagues) i think Ronnie is one of the best bets at RB
  15. In my other league, 10 team, no ppr, espn standard Current Record: (4-5) QB Tom Brady RB Adrian Peterson RB Ladanian Tomlinson RB/WR Knowshon Moreno WR Calvin Johnson WR Vincent Jackson TE Jason Witten D/ST Broncos K Matt Stover B Rashard Mendenhall B Reggie Bush B Mario Manningham B Hakeem Nicks B Lance Moore B Shonn Grenne B Kyle Orton someone offered me Welker for Mendenhall, i think i like Welker better but i'm hurting a little at RB since Moreno and LT haven't been doing anything, plus i have a lot of WRs, thoughts?
