  1. Anyone considering Tennessee's Chris Johnson. Seems to be getting some momentum lately. Could have some value in PPR leagues. Don't think he's in with these 5 yet. His real value may not be until next year though.
  2. Doesn't help Gore but I'm sure it helps whoevers gonna be under center this year. The 49ers have given up 138 sacks over the last 3 years. Kinda hard to expect any QB being real successful taking that many sacks. What Sims does is gives them a starter with experience and helps the depth. I'm sure the QB's are happy about the signing.
  3. Footballguys early projections done by Bob Henry has 9 or 10 tds total between the top 5 wr's for the Bears. 10 td's for 5 of their receivers does not bode well for having any of their players on a fantasy roster. I'd maybe consider Earl Bennett in a dynasty league for 3 years down the road. Maybe by then they'll have a QB who can play.
  4. Lot of people have Keller as the top TE and he may end up being that at some point. If TE's are getting 1 1/2 pts per reception I'd take a look at Seattles rookie TE John Carlson. Guarantee he'll start from day one. Yeah, there's a boatload of receivers to throw to,. Engram, Burleson, Branch(if he ever gets healthy),Ben Obomanu(should see more balls). Yet I know the Seahawks have been looking for a good TE. He was Seattle's second pick(2.07). Keller went at 1.30.At 6'5" Carlson will make a nice big redzone target. He only has to beat out Jeb Putzier to start and he should be able to do that. I think he's gonna have a good rookie season even with all the wideouts Seattle's got going. I think it's quite possible for him to see 35-45 catches, 400-600 yds receiving and 4-6 tds.Of course that's just my opinion but in an initial dynasty draft I'm in I waited and took him as my #1 TE. Of course I got Owen Daniels later. Still, I think Carlson a good TE to look at.
  5. Team name I came up with in a coupleof leagues I'm in is: Blind Boys of Alabama
  6. 1. MauriceJones-Drew- best of all the backs listed. 2. Ryan Grant- yes he had an excellant year but Ialso see Brandon Jackson slipping in there to take a few carries and keep Grant fresh for now. Could it endup being a RBBC in Green Bay, don't know, but I'd keep an eye on it. May not be that this year but 2009 could be different. Teams aren't wanting to burn these guys out too fast. I like Grant but just have a hunch somewhere in the future it's gonna be a 2-back system especially with Favre gone. 2a. Laurence Maroney- have you seen the Pats cakewalk schedule? Brady won't throw 50td's in '08. This is gonna be Maroney's year. He's the feature back and he'll show why this year. Pats won't have to throw much once they see the ground game taking off.
  7. 1. James Hardy- will start right away to take some pressure off Evans. Will have the best numbers of all rookie WR's this year. 2. Devin Thomas- would strongly consider him if you don't like Johnson. Don't think he'll be that productive this year as he'll have to contend for catches with Moss,Cooley,Portis,Randle-El. Could be the skins' top guy in a copule of years as Moss is starting to have health issues and the coaching staff probably feels that way as well. 2a. Chris Johnson- don't like Titans backfield of White and Henry. Not sure if Johnson will be an every down back but you can bet he's gonna get every opportunity to prove himself.
  8. The topic was for the top 10 OFFENSIVE rookies. I could have worded it a little better inthepost I suppose. Didn't think it'd get misinterpreted. Sorry for any confusion.
  9. I'd be happy if Cherilus is there for our pick but don't think he will be. I would DEFINTELY shy away from Quentin Groves if I were the Niners. He reported that he had surgery on March 27 for an abnormality in the heart's electrical system which can cause rapid heartbeats. It's known as Wolff-Parkinson-White(WPW) syndrome. The surgery was said to be successful but I'd be leery about taking the guy with our first round pick. Who's to say that this condition won't reoccur and cause problems later. Nothing against Groves as I'm sure he did what he needed to for his own health . I'm just saying it's a risky pick given his situation. I wish him well and hope he stays healthy but I personnally would not want to risk taking him at #29.
  10. Just wanted to see some opinions on who you guys think are the top 10 offensive rookie draft prospects. I know the draft's not here yet and a lot depends on what team the player goes to, situation and circumstances on the team that drafts them. I want to see who your top 10 are based on talent and abilty. I'm sure the lists will vary and everyone has the reasons why that player is on their top 10. You're more than welcome also to explain why your players make your top 10 list. Just wanted to get a base to look over for upcoming fantasy rookie drafts. 1.Darren McFadden-RB 2. Rashard Mendenhall- RB 3. Matt Ryan- QB 4. Jonathan Stewart- RB 5. Felix Jones- RB 6. Devin Thomas- WR 7. Ray Rice- RB 8. Jamaal Charles- RB 9. Limas Sweed- WR 10. Matt Forte-RB
  11. Yeah, I overlooked the London game. Definitely not a home game and against the Chargers at that. Brees should be pumped for that game.
  12. They have 3 home games between 10/19 and 12/21. I think they have an overall favorable schedule. 5 home games in the first 8 games of which I say they'll lose 3 games. Only 3 home games the second half of the season but I see a better schedule than the first half. They could go 6-2 the final 8 games. Trust now I'm not a Saints fan but merely how I see things could unfold for them this year. They only have 4 games against 2007 playoff teams. No doubt I think they have the offensive talent to go 11-5 this year but I think that could hinge on their defense at least playing respectable and not putting the offense in bad situations. I think a lot of the Saints fans would be pleased with this years schedule. I'll definitely be rootingfor them to do well especially the likes of Brees and Colston. Reggie Bush too but I've just never been a big fan of him,no particular reason as I just haven't had him on any of my fantasy teams. I DO like the rookie from last year, Pierre Thomas. I'd like to see this kid have an outstanding NFL career. I think he will but if it'll start to happen this year or not I don't know. If Deuce can't go a lot Thomas could get a golden opportunity. Certainly Reggie would get the majority of the workload. I just think Thomas could be afull-time starter and would gladly like to see him do that. Probably hard to due in his current situation but he'll eventually get the opportunity to start somewhere either in New Orleans or somewhere else. So, the Saints should have a pretty good 2008 season in my opinion. I hope they make the playoffs and do well. They have some very good skill players, which is great for us FFBaller's, that I'll certainly be targeting in all my drafts. Good luck Saints and fans.
  13. I've got a new username(Man who'd fire the Yorks), was formerly DocNiner52. New name implies what I'd do if I could to start turning the orginization around.Anyway, I see this mock has the 49ers taking QB Chad Henne with the 75th pick. That'd be a great addition IMO but I think he'll go sooner than 75. Yes Smith has had a revolving door at the OC position which surely hasn't helped. At this point I am of the opinion that Alex Smith is NOT the QB of the future for the 49ers in spite of giving him the benefit of the doubt trying to improve with so many different OC's that certainly is difficult for any young QB to have to experience. They've been trying to justify taking him #1 overall and I say the effort has failed so let's move on. Is Shaun Hill the answer, I don't know but I have my doubts about him as well. They're not going to get Henne with the 75th pick so if they want him they might as well take him with their 2nd round pick(#39).Is that too early for Henne? Possibly, but their other options haven't faired so well so they might as well take the risk and take him in the 2nd. I wouldn't mind Flacco either but the franchise is not gonna go anywhere until they get a QB.I think they stand as much chance of getting better by taking Henne or Flacco instead of continuously floundering about trying to make Smith a franchise QB of which he is not. The defense is getting a little better but if they don't get players who can help them put points on the board all else is futile. I say, and it's just my opinion, take the best available WR in the first and either Joe Flacco or Chad Henne in the second and start rebuilding this storied franchise all over. First and foremost however is to FIRE THE YORKS!!!!
