  1. All of my fantasy stuff is back in New Orleans and is unreachable by me. Even through this tragedy, our fantasy league will go on. We are drafting this Saturday and I can't access Rhino's info. The only internet access I have is here at work and I can't downbload the zip files that are available on Rhino's thread. I also can't access the Huddle's home page, cheatsheets and articles since my work computer system has them blocked. I can only get into the member forums here at work. I think that the word "fantasy" causes most ffl websites to be blocked our system. Can anyone email me the spreadsheets in regular excel (non-zipped) format so that I can use them to reconstitute my draft boards? Please PM me and I'll give you my email address. Thanks in advance.
  2. I fish the Louisiana marsh a few days a month which is all I have time for. I would fish much more if time permitted. By far my favorite hobby. Mostly specks and redfish with the usual mixed bag of drum, flounder, sheepshead, white trout, etc. I usually only bass fish during the spring spawning season when trout fishing is at its worst, but it isn't my area of expertise. I'll make the occasional outside trips out into the gulf for snapper, amberjack, grouper, cobia, etc. and even rarer trips for wahoo, dolphin, marlin, tarpon, etc. I enjoy fishing inside much better, but mix it up from tiem to time. And every now and then I'll throw some stink bait out here at the huddle to see if I can catch anyone....I mean anything.
  3. I knew that this would hit a few of you hard. I read the story yesterday in the local paper myself and had no idea. Another great New Orleans institution bites the dust. The N.O. history books just got thicker.
  4. We found a scoring discrepency on CBS sportsline that changed the outcome of one of our games, in turn changing the outcome of 2 teams making the playoffs or not. Sportsline has not fixed the problem however so the scoring on it is still wrong. We had to manually fix it. The issue deals with Denver's defense. We score 1 point for a forced fumble in our league, and 1 point for a fumble recovery. Sportsline shows that Denver had 2 forced fumbles last week, which is wrong. After reviewing Stats Inc., and reviewing the play by play, there was actually just 1 FF and no fumble recoveries, so sportsline is giving denver's defense 1 extra point than it should be. Anyone else notice this?
  5. I am going with Emmit Smith, and I am no fan of his. Think of all of the pounding that his body has taken over the years. He has carried the ball 4293 times and has caught 509 passes which means that he has been tackled approximately 4700 times and hit many, many more times than that. And the dude still put up a couple 100 yard games in this, his 15th (16th?) year. Man, it sure has to hurt for him to get out of bed every morning.
  6. 4 of the top 10 are SEC, which means that 1/3 of the SEC is in the top 10 in recruting. eek!
  7. So how much did you win? I'm guessing that whichever sportsbook was laying those odds is only paying out on LSU. I'd be curious to know if anyone has that info. If so, does that tell you anything to help settle arguements on this board? thinking wink
  8. jump jump big_shoc doah Or some Lamb Fries!
  9. FYI - Saban does have NFL experience and was the defensive coordinator for the old Cleveland Browns for 4 seasons (1991-1994).
  10. You can go in many different directions for New Orleans but here are a few that truly represent the town. Seafood Gumbo Shrimp Creole Jambalaya Crawfish Etouffee Redfish Courtbouillon Sauce Piquante can substitute chicken or venison for the rabbit Red Beans and Rice Traditionally eaten in New Orleans on Mondays, so great for Monday Night Football! Now, these recipes are just samples. Eveyone in New Orleans cooks their food different from everyone else, but these are good starting points. If you aren't comfortable venturing away from the recipe into your own style, then stick to the basic recipe. Once you become familiar with cooking these items, you can adjust the recipes to meet your own tastes. C'est Si Bon!
  11. I've never really had a reason to truly dislike Ryan up until this point, and have always kind of laughed at his/her antics. But now I'm convinced, and agree with about 99.9% of all Huddlers, Ryan is the biggest a$$munch, dickhead smegma licker I have ever seen. Saban had even stated that his discussions with DiAngelo revolved around the NFL in general and their family lives since they are such good friends. Saban made it clear to D'Angelo that he had no interest in coaching the Bears before the meeting started, and decided to hold a press conference to mute all rumors regarding him leaving LSU, as soon as he could on Saturday. The man is committed to LSU and has shown nothing but true class in the way he has handled every situation thrown at him. Congrats Saban and my LSU Tigers on our true National Championship! And BTW, F you Mrs. Ryan! cool_thu
  12. 2 things Saban isn't right now is "clueless" and "pissed". The photo is gone from the link now.
  13. No, the best way to determine the better team would be to LET THEM PLAY. Please don't edit my statement: Anyway, I do respect the season that USC had and congrats on such a fine season.
  14. Regardless of the fact that LSU is the National Champion, the best way to determine who would beat who on a neutral field is to run computer simulations since the game will never take place. And the verdict is....... LSU WINS!
  15. Which was? BTW, once again, USC did not win all of its conference games.
