  1. Hunt went undetected in my auction league. We had the auction preWare injury. I picked him up for 5pts at the end of the draft out of a 200pt salary. I got Zeke for 23. Spent 50 plus on D. Freeman and picked up Cohen in open waivers in week 1. I can only start two RBs and is difficult to decide who to start. With Cohen's week 1 performance, I traded Hunt for Tyreek Hill and Mariotta.
  2. I spent 75 out of 100 salary for him. PPR league and lost David Johnson. Only thing on waivers was Cohen and Golladay. I don't think Cohen was/is a flash in the pan. Chicago has no big play threats. I see him as a younger version of Sproles who they'll look to get the ball to however they can. I'm hopeful for a 15pt average.
  3. I've played in multiple auction leagues for almost 20 years now and the top end players usually average anywhere from 70-80 points from a 200pt salary cap. It doesn't matter what the top end players go for, what matters is the impact it'll have on the rest of the draft. If they go high, you'll find great value at the middle to end of draft if you plan for it. If the top end guy's go low, you can expect lower end guy's to go at a higher price. Supply and demand dictates price as well.
  4. In my auction league its standard that when you put up a player, you state his name, position and team. For that exact reason
  5. I think this is the most complete team the Saints have had, ever. I think the Saints went up against 2 good defensive game plans with the Bills and Jets regardless of what stats say about the Bills defense. I think the Saints are finally able to run the ball effectively and are not having to force the pass. All that hype about 50+ TD's this season and 5000+ yards again is pretty much gone. I think that Brees will have his break out games, but not on a consistent basis obviously after the last two weeks. I feel the coaching staff has finally wised up on controlling the game clock and not just running and gunning keeping the Saints D on the field all day turning every game into a shootout. I still think Brees is an upper tier Fantasy QB regardless.
  6. There's a reason why the last 2 years Steve Smith has been Manning's go to guy on 3rd downs. The guy just gets open. There's nothing flashy whatsoever about him, he just gets it done. As already stated by others, he's #1 WR in PPR leagues by a good bit over second. I don't think its a fluke at all. Just my 1/2 cent.
  7. Further proof that there's no sure thing in Fantasy Football. I think both the Bills and Jets had a very good defensive game plan to slow down Brees and unlike years past, the Saints have a running game so the Saints don't have to force the pass. I don't doubt for one second that Brees won't break out for some big games, but I think all the hype about 50+ TD's and 5000+ yards again might be out the window.
  8. LOL for Trent Dilfer. Dilfer rocks.
  9. Hey, we got rid of Jason David, finally. That's 2 wins alone right there my friend before the season even starts. Roethlisberger had the worst rating ever in a SuperBowl in there first time around and I don't take credit away from him having a ring on his finger. So tell me, is throwing that number of superbowl wins up on the TV really going give someone who's maybe a every so often fan of football a clear picture of who is who? I think not. LOL, didn't intend to go this far with this at all.
  10. Football is the "team" sport. To display that statistic is ignorant, at least with Big Ben it is, who's wins is purely a product of one of the best NFL defenses in recent history. Sorry, they can do better than that.
  11. There is so many other ways to evaluate a quarterback is all I'm getting at and that has to be worst. Tom Brady and Roethlisberger don't belong in the same breath in my opinion. I know they come up with statistics for wins when wearing lucky draws on Saturdays when it's overcast with a full moon out and all but come on.
  12. This statistic I keep seeing more and more of is so annoying it's rediculous. They put up Roethlisberger and Brady on the screen comparing wins by a quarterback. Is that a serious statistic? Pittsburgh defense have anything at all to do with that? It kills me everytime I see it and guess I just needed to vent.
  13. No, it's not required but it's just common to spend all your points. No doubt that could be a strategy to save a few points for free agency, but the free agent market is sometimes hot, sometimes cold. That extra salary I kept from the draft doesn't do me any good if it takes until week 5 for an impact player to emerge. That's the exact arguement I get from most in the league, is that you strategize to pick a quality team to begin with and if I'm so worried about free agents, save some money from the draft. I don't disagree with everyone as to what purpose our setup serves, I personally just don't like the setup. If you draft bad, your season is in serious jeopardy. I guess I'm going to have to adapt and deal with it. It's by no means worth quitting over. I certainly appreciate your responses too.
  14. It's not so much a matter of free agent quality as it is our free agent system. We have 18 man rosters with 12 teams in the league and year in and year out, there's a handful of free agents that emerge as quality fantasy players. Only problem is, and anyone that's familiar with an auction knows, is that nearing the middle to end of an auction, players start going for cheap and ultimately the last few go for 1pt. What happens now is to acquire someone worthy from free agency, is you have to drop a handful of your players to acquire him. I know it is what is and its the same for everyone, it's just so restrictive.
