  1. I suspected ADP would get all the love, but just an interesting observation, last year in my league (uses scoring system I mentioned above), ADP was only the 14th highest scoring player. Top 15 players in order w/ season points: Brees, Drew NOS QB 291 William, DeAngelo CAR 278 Rivers, Philip SDC QB 273 Cutler, Jay DEN QB 272 Rodgers, Aaron GBP QB 266 Warner, Kurt ARI QB 260 Forte, Matt CHI RB ® 257 Turner, Michael ATL RB 253 Manning, Peyton IND QB 250 Jones, Thomas NYJ RB 249.5 Fitzgerald, Larry ARI WR 242.5 Cassel, Matt NEP QB 242 Westbrook, Brian PHI RB 240 Peterson, Adrian MIN RB 239.5 Jones-Drew, Maurice JAC RB 234.5 The argument against taking a RB would be durability concerns and a short window of time of being a stud. They do not on average last as long as a QB or WR. Six years from now who do you think will be putting up better number, ADP or Larry Fitzgerald? How about eight years from now. Would there be an advantage to locking up that once a decade QB or WR knowing you don't have to worry about that position for many many years?
  2. Basic info for said question: 1 QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1 Flex, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Def Scoring: 4pts Passing TD 6pts rush/rec TD 1pt=10 yrds rec/rush 1pt=25 yards passing .5pt per catch And go ahead and assume this would be a reliable league that you would be in for a number of years. Who do you pick and why?
  3. As a Hawk's fan it's hard to say, but avoid all Hawk players except maybe Carlson in deeper leagues. Our offense is imploding. Lost among all the talk about the receiver situation is how horrible our O-Line performed. The Bills were in our backfield all game long. Complete domination. Hasselbeck didn't even need to worry about the recievers as he didn't have time to properly throw an incomplete pass to them. As for JJ, he looked awful during camp imo. That coupled with our O-Line issues, no WRs and a hurting QB.... You'd honestly be lucky to get an average of 60 yards a game and a TD every other game. I'd guess more around 35-50 yards with the few TDs going to Weaver or Duckett.
  4. Do you by chance know, or are, that man?
  5. Reading more of the post, I think Grits nailed it. This would be the best solution.
  6. Just read the first post so unsure if there is a resolution yet but yikes, that is a mess you have there. Obviously you can't redraft the rosters so you'll need to figure out how to make it right, best as it can be. Unfortunately for you, that would be where the commish and co-commish need to potentially fall on their swords. In my main league that I run, for the betterment of the league, if there is a mixup...accident aside, that was partly or completely because of my oversight as commish I'll sacrifice from my team in whatever way is needed to best fix the problem. So what I would propose is to let the owner in questions "draft" either of the TEs on the two teams that the commish and co run and give up a player to that team within a round or two of where the TE was picked. Not perfect, but about as good as you'll find. The other option would be to take the names of the 4 TEs the two teams own, pick the next two best FA TE left... put each name on a peice of paper, and randomly pick two players for each team. Again, if the team in question gets a TE from either team, he'd need to trade a player from that round or near that round to the team that is losing the player... but at least that way it is random and about as fair as it would get. Hope you all resolve it.
  7. IMO I like TO better for redrafts and Edwards for keepers and dynastys. TO has been money and he does work out hard, but you can't deny the age factor. I'd be surprised if he were still a "stud" in 2011 like some people are saying. Edwards is the way to go if you are looking at beyond this year.
  8. Basic performance scoring in a keeper league, would you trade ADP and the #4 pick for SJax and the #1 pick? Number #1 would be D-McFad... top three rookie RBs from this year draft will likely be the first three picks so pick #4 wouldn't have much for young top tier RB. Which team do you think would get the better end of this deal? I personally love SJax in a FA year and think he is the #2 back right now in FF behind ADP, but the option to draft DFad to go with SJax... I could get behind that. Now I know other keepers and all that are relavent, but please gives your thoughts on just the info I mentioned. Thanks.
  9. Pittsburgh Steelers select Charles Godfrey, CB, Iowa First off, sorry for the delay. Completely spaced that I had another pick right after the Redskins. With Alberts taken in the first round addressing the OLine, the Steelers will likely look at the defensive secondary in the 2nd round. With Deshea Townsend getting up there in years it would be wise to take advantage of the deep CB pool in this year's draft. Godfrey is a great physical speciman that has all the tools to be a solid defender in the league, he just needs more time to learn the game. The Steelers are in a position where they could allow Godfrey to develope slowly under Townsend's eyes, and then compete for a starting spot next year.
  10. The Washington Redskins select Justin King, CB, Penn State. The Redskins need help at the corners, and while Shawn Springs has played well for his age, he is nearing retirement. King is a burner of a CB who runs in the 4.3s. A full time starter last year for the Nitney Lions, King has been moving up the boards with a great workout at the combine and also has been praised for his off the field maturity which in todays times (see Pac Man Jones) certainly factors into the equation.
  11. With the 23rd pick The Pittsburgh The only 6 time Super Bowl Winners and YOUR DADDY select Brenden Albert, G, Virginia If Albert somehow falls to the Steelers, this will be one of the better picks of the draft. Pittsburgh has long been known as having a mauling, physical offensive line and losing Faneca in free agency was a definite blow to the team. Now the team recently signed Justin Hartwig and that allows Mohan to move to guard, but I does he really replace Faneca? Albert is clearly the best guard in the draft and would go a long way in continuing Pittsburghs trend of having a superior offensive line. He also has that angry, maulers attitude like a Faneca or Hutchinson that is so important in setting the tone for the OL. Personally I'm hoping Albert or Stewart falls to the Hawks however so I hope I'm wrong with this pick. Other considerations for Pittsburgh would be CB or a large WR to appease Big Ben.
  12. I wish Andy or Joe would explain how it works to someone in the Seahawks... Clever though if they do factor such picks into how they approach free agency.
