  1. Can't help you out but have similar question. We are doing auction for the first time this year, 10 teams. 18 players, 225$ budget. Is it a good idea to use ~half your $$$ for 2 studs, and fill in the rest with values? or maybe 1/4 your money for 1 stud and get a bunch of middling guys? Been doing some mock auctions but most of the idiots in there use most of their money for 4 guys and then leave and the auto bidders ratchet everything up so it is hard to judge what works best. Sorry to intrude on your thread but thought it would make more sense than starting another with similar ??
  2. Any one have any uniques rules or payouts in their leagues? We are kicking some around for next year and I thought someone in here might have something that works well in their league. We have been playing together since ''93 or '94. Started as a TD only (bleah). Not a PPR but a hybrid of TD/yardage scoring system currently. Trying to get flex player in, voted down last 2 yrs but making progress. Auction was suggested, any ideas on that? We pay $3 for waiver pickups, which goes into a waiver pool, like a consolation bracket in playoffs. Entry fee pays 1st and 2nd head-to-head, and top 3 in points. Thanks for any input.
  3. Already played Megatron (22.5 pts) and M. Ryan (29.7 pts). Have AJ plugged in but thinking Amendola might have a better shot at more points. Also, Sproles or Ridley? Have Ridley but his drops have me concerned.
  4. Already playing AJ Green. I think it's a crap shoot, Thomas being a bit more consistent but Houston is missing its good CB so it's possible Megatron could do something here.
  5. Reggie Bush, Willis McGahee, Mike Wallace for Mikel Leshoure, Calvin Johnson, Matt Ryan
  6. In my humble opinion, you have to play RGIII. I think Peyton will have a decent game, and I know Atalnta has a good D but I wouls still roll the dice and go with the hot rookie.
  7. Ridley vs tough Denver defense and Belichek using 2 or 3 backs or banged up Forte vs Jacksonville Kind of a crap shoot I think, leaning toward Forte this week.
  8. I have the same problem, which is a good problem to have. I have thought about it and figure 1. Who ever I play will get points 2. Who ever I bench will get more points. That being said, I have decided to go with Matt Ryan. This probably indicates you shoud go with RGIII. Lots of help, I'm sure. I should also point out I am 2-2. However if I had played my 3rd, 4th or 5th WR instead of Calvin Johnson the first 2 weeks, I would be 4W-0L. That is why we all love FF.
  9. In a bind, starting Sproles for sure, actually leaning towards Forte. Thanks for your help. 10 team league 1 pt/ 1 yd rush or receive 6 pt/TD Other starters this week: RGIII C. Johnson AJ Green Pitta S Graham AZ D
  10. Wow. Pretty bleak Sunday without football. I think I will try it out by skipping Thursday night first. Then not watching any pregame at all. I do not think I can manage to not watch the Packers though. I just don't think I can give that up. But I think I will skip Thursday, and Sunday pregame, and the early games. Tune into GB-NO, and then skip the late game, and MNF, too. Bleak. But it's time. The NFL gave up on me, a fan, who apparently is also expendable. So I am done with the NFL. But not my team, I can't do it.
  11. I have been watchinf footbal for 51 years and I can honestly say that was absolutely the worst call ever. I believe I will not watch aother game until they get the pro refs back. What a joke.
  12. My current RBs are Frank Gore, Jamal Charles, Tim Hightower, Michael Bush (broken thumb) and M. Hardesty (had an early draft!). My current WRs are Ochocinco, Mike Sims-Walker, Mike Wallace, Massaquoi, J.Gaffney, Lee Evans, and Sidney Rice (stinkin' early draft!). Scoring is 1 pt for 10 yds rec or run, 6 for TD. Play 2 WR and 2 RB. I am being offered LaDainain Tomlinson, Shonn Greene (who showed me nothing last night), and Steve Breaston for Frank Gore. I am leaning toward turning down the trade and trying to replace Hardesty thru the waiver wire, holding onto Rice till he can play again. What do you guys think?
  13. Thanks vey much for going to the trouble of evaluating my draft. Been doiing this for a while (16 yrs) but it's always good to hear more perspectives. Being female and 56 makes me second guess myself a lot!! LOL
  14. Drafted last night. 10 team league (3 pt pass TD, 6 pt run TD, 6 pt rec TD, 1 pt 10 yd run or rec, etc no neg pt for takeaways) Play 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1K, 1 D/ST. I drafted in the #5 slot. I think my WRs may be the biggest weakness but welcome any comments or criticism. Thanks guys. A. Rodger (2nd rnd) C.Henne (14th rnd) F. Gore (1st rnd) J. Charles (3rd rnd) M. Bush (8th rnd) T. Hightower (10th rnd) M. Hardesty (12th rnd) S. Rice (4th rnd) Ochocinco (5th rnd) M. Sims-Walker (6th rnd) M. Wallace (9th rnd) L. Evans (13th rnd) J. Gaffney (18th rnd) B. Celek (7th rnd) Z. Miller OAK (11th rnd) G. Hartley (18th rnd) PHI D/ST (16th rnd) MIA D/ST final
  15. 6 pts for TD, 1 pt for 25 yards rushing or receiving. Tempted to start Forsett against STL for bonus receiving yards vs Barber with more than 1 RB. Thanks guys for any help you can give this old Grandma. I'm playing the #1 guy in our league this week, and though I'm already in our playoffs, I want to kick his butt, especially since he predicted my team would finish last on draft night!!
