  1. QB class is pretty deep next year with Luck, Landry Jones and Barkley (a Carroll recruit) all potentially coming out. The Hawks should be able to get one of those guys, especially considering that not many teams need QBs anymore. Whitehurst should be gone after next year and Tavaris can be the de facto starter/veteran backup. Looks like whoever they draft will have tons of weapons and a promising o-line.
  2. Even with McFadden there, I really like Michael Bush as a middle round sleeper. If DMC gets hurt there are a lot of opportunities for him and i like his running style. Does anyone know much about Taiwon Jones? Dude is an absolute burner from Eastern WA. A little undersized but he could surprise if he gets some carries. Gonna take some serious luck for him to get them, but you just never know!
  3. Their offensive line was horrible last year - especially for the first half. Not sure Doug Free is the answer for 2011... Tyron Smith has as much upside as anyone in the draft, but he NEVER played left tackle at USC. He's no lock to be a stud at LT. If so, they just spent the 10th pick in the draft on a roster spot that can be found in the middle rounds. I like Romo and their receiving corps. If their line gels, then they could win the division or grab a wild card spot. Hopefully they can find some help on D in the next few days. IMO, they should have just drafted Amukamura.
  4. But their D is still trash and they need to get to work fixing that ASAP!
  5. When I first heard about the Hawks letting Haselbeck go coupled with the Jackson signing, I wasn't too thrilled. Except for the fact that they could possibly be in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. But today they signed Gallery and Sid Rice so it looks like they won't be terrible... A healthy o-line of Okung-Gallery-Unger-Moffit-Carpenter looks pretty promising. Sure there will be growing pains but I like that combination of athleticism, youth and grit that they bring. Pete Carroll must have done a number recruiting Rice to come out West, but that's what he does very well!
  6. I'm a lifelong Hawks fan and I consider Hasselbeck to be one of the best in franchise history. The guy was a warrior the whole time he was the Hawks starting QB. Played hurt every year it seemed. Led the team to their only Superbowl appearance and won a lot of playoff games. I'd put him right behind Walter Jones, Largeant and Cortez Kennedy. Absolutely a Top 5 Seahawk imo. And he's gonna make a hell of a broadcaster or analyst when he retires. Very bright and charismatic personality.
  7. What is the difference betwee dynasty and keeper exactly? Do you think that if your team has a shot to win this year, to save the draft picks for later in the season to upgrade? We only get 3 keepers and you can't keep anybody drafted in the first two rounds (unless they are traded or dropped of course). I guess I really don't know how it will work once we get to that point. Is there generally a feeding frenzy with trades getting vetoed and lobbied all over the place? That is already happening in my league so I can imagine that it will only get worse.
  8. I'm in the very first year of a 12 team PPR keeper league. Some of the owners are already making serious moves and trading draft picks (including contenders). I think that I have one of the stronger teams in the league so I don't want to make any drastic changes, but it seems like I am missing out. I've made some inquiries and talked about offers but that's about it. Any experienced keeper league players have particular strategies or ideas for successfully managing a keeper league team? Should I try and acquire draft picks or stand pat and wait and see how the first year works out?
  9. Thank you Injera. Anyone else have input? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated
  10. It's a sixth round draft pick next year plus Vick that he is getting for Mathews.
  11. A guy in my 12 team ppr keeper league traded Vick and a sixth rounder for Ryan Mathews. Keepers in this league are +1 for drafted players and -2 for guys acquired via trade/free agency/waivers. So the player getting Mathews, one of the best prospects in football, gets to keep him for a fourth rounder next year. Player receiving Vick gets to keep him next year for a 15th rounder, plus the extra pick. Is this fair? Maybe I'm missing something but it seems like the guy getting Ryan Mathews is getting an absolute steal of a deal. Thoughts?
  12. The Huddle's Start/Bench lists has all three of them at S2. If you read what J-Stew has historically done against Tampa in their matchup, you'll see that he has destroyed them, even with DeAngelo in the lineup. I don't see how this is not a legitimate question.
