  1. I can relate! For the last twelve years I've usually been in the top three, and always in the playoffs of my keeper league. This year, however, is a totally different story. My keepers were to begin with, Ray Rice (owned since rookie season), Wes Welker (owned since he was a Dolphin), Nick Foles (rookie), Brady (2004), Dennis Pitta, LeSean McCoy (rookie, got as handcuff for Westbrook). Of those, the only one currently on the field the whole season without a noticeable slump is McCoy, and I would argue about that, given the lack of TD's. Yes, Brady has gone the whole season, but I think he was drinking decaf the first several games. I wish somebody would tell me what the deal is on Welker - has he ticked off Manning or permanently injured himself to the point of never getting throws? Either way it seems he's toxic, but I'd love to know if it's dump time or not. And thanks to RR, I'm in RB hell and due to taking a chance on Cordarelle Patterson, I'm also in WR hell due to the aforementioned Welker also taking up Roster space. I owned RR's handcuff, Bernard Pierce, but that was the wrong call. As was Knile Davis (keeper league, so no starters on waiver wire). I'm almost ready to put this season to bed today! And that completes my whine... Thank you for letting me vent!
  2. My Foles backup is Brady, and he's on bye next week... When I was counting on Foles! Ugh! I guess it's waiver wire for me.
  3. Must be. I've had that procedure and granted, I'm nowhere near a professional athlete, but before I tore my ACL and MCL (on the other leg), I used to do a lot of marathons and cycling. I can still do half marathons, just slower, which is fine now that I'm 50. My point is, a knee scope is not a tiny procedure like a fluid drain, and recovery takes more than a week for the knee to feel stable when you move. And my surgeon is the guy that looks like Lurch on the Bucs sideline, lol. Maybe I should ask for the deer stuff, ya think? I tell you, if he plays and gets the stat line DMD is suggesting, I will go hunting the stuff before my next race!
  4. I'm sorry, should have been clearer! 6 keepers total, but only 2 WRs total. But you did hit my dilemma on the head - supplemental pick or Thomas! I won last year, so have the last pick in the first round, and can't count on a good rookie WR. (I'm good on RB's, with Rice and McCoy.) I'm really needing to maximize on my WR2 - I had a good one retire a year ago, which moved Welker up to WR1 (had him since his Miami days). Urgh - I have a weird feeling about Welker, too, so I'd love to have choices, but I'm definitely not giving him up, but the thought of a draft pick making him a possible WR2 sometimes is intriguing.
  5. Ended last season with: Welker (obvious Keep), Lance Moore, Demarius Thomas, Nate Washington I'm planning to dump Washington, and can't decide between Moore and Thomas. Moore, I'm concerned about the Brees/NO situation, and Thomas I'm concerned about who's going to be throwing to him, in many ways... and I'm a HUGE Peyton fan saying that. My options are to either: 1) keep Moore 2) keep Thomas 3) keep Washington, but WHY would I do that? 4) let all three go, and enter my league's supplemental draft for a whole new option (does not include rookies and I'm in a 12 team league - not likely to be great pickings!) 5) attempt a trade, which is very rare and probably not likely given my spare change. TIA for your sage advice!
  6. Sorry - had to pick up the kids! Not a PPR league, standard scoring, but we do have negative points for fumbles.... tearing my hair out!!!!!!!!!
  7. With the new info you just posted, I'd put it as: Atlanta, New England*, Miami, Arizona (but I might interchange that with Carolina at any given moment). Transpose the first two with Rodgers out. My link: http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=345633
  8. Another vote for Hillis and Foster. My link: http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=345633
  9. Hillis, Torain, Green-Ellis My link: http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=345633
  10. Go with my regulars, Rice and McCoy, who are usually capable of either greatness or laying the occasional egg (who isn't?) or substitute one of them for LeGarette Blount, who is up against Detroit and at home where he usually does very well and the temps will be warm. If you think I should put Blount in, which one should I pull out, Rice or McCoy? McCoy has the Vick wanting to be a RB issue, but Rice seems to have scoring issues this year as well. Looking forward to your collective wisdom and thanking in advance! P.S., my opponent is playing Tashard Choice and McFadden, but he also has Torain and Benson, so expecting any of the above.
  11. Sjax for sure! I was a Westbrook owner for many years and after watching Monday night's game I just know this burst is not going to last - he's a) not going to be used for scoring purposes, and not going to be especially durable because c) he's got some toothpick issues. He's running great right now, but I just can't see it lasting more than a game or two, possibly not even that, considering that he's going up against the GB defense - Clay Mathews is going to eat him for lunch. Moreno has been great, but I don't think Denver is going to have their offense on the field that much, and when they do, I think the receivers will get most of the action. MHO, though. Stick with your instincts and go with Sjax! My thread: http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=343743
  12. With this week's matchups, I might reverse the last two based on QB, but other than that I think you're good. My thread: http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=343743
  13. I've got him on my taxi, and nothing I've seen so far looks like he's going to be back in time to help with playoffs - I'm in a keeper and am stashing him for next year. If you are in a keeper, though, maybe drop Nicks or Cadillac... if not, then maybe V. Jack. Good luck! Here is my thread: http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=343743
