  1. Has anyone found any good mock drafts that have been conducted recently... usually by now there are several to reference... but not so much this year, at least that I've been able to find. Any good ones that you've seen???
  2. Expand the IDP to 4 DB, 4 LB, 4 DL... start 2 each. Then the Team D scoring is based on yards allowed, points against, forced punts... bonuses for holding less than 100 yards rushing and receiving and less than 250 passing... 3 points per forced punt... bonus for shutout. Makes the game much more interesting.
  3. Not sure if this has been started already but I can't find it. Have any of you already had the annual chat with DirecTV regarding the cost of the Sunday ticket??? What deals are you getting this year???
  4. Who do you take... Moss or Marshall??? PPR league
  5. We can keep up to 10... all based on draft position and free agency. we are an IDP inclusive league. PLayers drafted in the 1st 6 rounds AUTOMATICALLY go back to the draft pool. After round 7 we can keep 6 players. We are able to keep up tp 4 free agent aquisitions and 1 IR drafee. If you keep an IR player then only 3 free agents are eligible. Here's how it works. Each player kept moves up 3 draft slots. Once that player enters the first 6 rounds it will be the final year of keeper eligibility. same hold true for free agents... and their round designation is determined by when they were picked up and how many starts they make for you. We have 2 free agent periods (as far as keeprs go). Early keepers (up to week 10, I think) will occupy either the 12th, 16th, or 20th round. After week 10 they will be 14 or 18. The early determinations are based on <25% (round 12), 26-75% (round 16), or >75% starts (round 20). So the more starts someone gives you the move value you are rewarded. The late FA's are cut at <3 (round 14) or >3 starts (round 18). Free agents are required to have a minimum of 2 starts to qualify for Keeper status. After being kept they assume the title of a drafted player and will be chosen as such the following season. For the IR players... we select 3 IR players after our active player draft. IF an IR player is never activated and just sits on IR all year... they can be kept as the 29th round pick then assume drafted player status. It makes sense to take a chance on someone later in the draft looking ahead a year or 2. This year I have stud keepers>>> Ryan Grant (rd 14), Matt stafford (17), Clay Matthews (18), Beanie Wells (20), Clavin Johnson (21), Greg Jennings (23), Chris Johnson (26 - former IR pick), and this years IR pick Jermichael Finley (29). Now, I took 2 FA keepers (Roddy White and Austin Miles) and traded for Aaron Rodgers (rd 22)... Our free agents are awarded in reverse priority from Monday midnight to Tuesday midnight... then first come first served. At least this gives struggling teams first crack at unclaimed players. So free agency and smart / lucky late round drafting has me sitting on a pretty solid start to this season. Last year I won our Fantasy Bowl and the year before I was runner up. Ive been pretty lucky!!!
  6. I agree here with the contract year comment. there is no doubt that Moss performs in contract years and Brady will be pushing for a Manning-like contract. PLUS... the Pats throw more in the red zone that the 'Boys, regardless of score. Now... when the stakes are getting bigger in November and December, Brady tends to be a little more consistent than Romo. I've been up against a Romo team late in the season and Romo just didn't get it done and I beat my opponent. An average game by Romo would have beaten me BUT he stunk and I got the "W". I'd lean toward Brady. However... if Rodgers, Brees, or P. Manning fall to you jump on them. Don't be down on Schaub (maybe a 2nd round pick). They play indoors... throw a lot.. have great receivers and an average RB group. Look at his passing stats from last year... pretty darn good. Only a small step below the big boys. Maybe take advantage of your opponents jumping on the top 4-5 QB's.. take your top WR or RB and grab Schaub in the 2nd.
  7. I like what you've done here... with a couple exceptions. Reggie Wayne - I tend to avoid him and Peyton just because when you need them most they are only playing half the game or sitting. If Wr was the goal here I probably would have gone with Roddy White... but perhaps Grant or Matthews would have been a better pick anyway. You might have gotten Roddy inthe 3rd. Antonio Bryant - has knee issues and the Bengals are discussing a TO signing which puts Bryant on the pine. Keep and eye here... if they sign TO, get a replacement. Forte - my golden rule is to not draft Bears (being a GB fan). That notwithstanding, I don't like Forte much in the Mike Martz offense. I think Chester Taylor is going to be the more productive back here since he's a better receiver out of the backfield. The good thing is that Reggie Wayne will carry your receivers all season and maybe with some teams getting better and the Colts D getting a little dinged they might have competition in December and Wayne might be playing. The Colts Dominance should be declining here pretty soon.... will it be this year though??!!
  8. Agreed... Wells will be INCREASING his production throughout the season and Addai may be giving some away to Donald Brown. Wells has more upside when you'll need him most.
  9. Who scores heavier in the league.... RB or WR??? If WR scored higher (PPR) then Marshall is yur man... if RB's score higher then Charles is the guy. I see Brandon Marshall having a HUGE year in Miami this season. He MAY end up a top 3-4 WR.
  10. How our keeper system works: any DRAFTED player move up 3 slots from original draft slot. Free agents are determined by when they are picked up and how many starts they make. Better value for players used more. Then we are allowed too retain a player selected in our 3 round IR draft after the active player draft is done. If that player IS NOT activated then they sit as a 29th round (last round) pick. All of my keepers qualify 14th round or later. Aaron Rodgers qualifies at 20 and I could continue to keep him beyond this year. If I keep 9 I can only keep 6 of them next year. So my idea is that I'll still be able to keep Rodgers, Chris Johnson, Calvin johnson, Greg Jennings, Jermichael Finley, and one other guy. I'll have 3 new free agents (potentially) and an IR selection to keep as well. So the way I see it is I get my #1 QB... still have the #1 RB and a top 10... 2 top 10 WR's... a top 5 TE and 2 sack guys. Ill likely get Andre Johnson (#1 WR) at #5 and get a RB in round 2... possibly someone like Matthews or Mendenhall unless someone drops into my lap. I won't be able to keep em all next year so getting Rodgers would get me a top QB to build with while I have chips to offer... that I might lose next year anyway with roster limits.
  11. Well... I could BUT I have other positions I'm keeping too... IF I make the trade then I would be keeping: Chris Johnson, Ryan Grant, Beanie Wells, Calvin Johnson, Greg Jennings, Aaron Rodgers, Jermaichael Finley, then Clay Matthews and Elvis Dumervil on Defense. IF NO TRADE then I'll keep Chris Johnson, Ryan Grant, Calvin Johnson, Roddy White , Miles Austin, Matt Stafford , Jermaichael Finley, then Clay Matthews and Elvis Dumervil on Defense. Either way I want to keep a spot open for Andre Johnson at the #5 pick...
  12. OK... I have a trade on the board that I am considering. Here are the detals. We have a keeper league that allows us to maintain a portion of our roster annually. I am getting Aaron Rodgers FOR Roddy White, Austin Miles, and Brent Celek. I still will have Greg Jennings and Calvin Johnson to start my WR Corp and Jermichael Finley as a TE... and with the #5 pick I will likely get Andre Johnson. NO BRAINER???
  13. Oooooohhhh... NICE... OchoCinco and OchoUno..... smells like an OchoOcho season.
  14. I called and got the $20 off per month for the Sunday Ticket and the $10 off the HD but only for 12 months. It was no problem. I just said that my neighbor had gotten the HD deal and that I was given the Ticket deal last year... her response was "no problem, I can take care of that for you." After waiting a few minutes for her to work my account she told me that I would see the changes as of my next bill... so I thanked her!!! She then told me about some HBO and Starz deals that they were offering and that I could take advantage by signing on to my account online. DONE!! I love how this dialog has continued this year... sometimes you never know what you can get... and others may have tried already or know someone that has insider info. THANKS GUYS!!!!
