  1. So THAT'S why you're in all those leagues with underage boys. I just thought you had a sickness....Well, it may have cost you a couple restraining orders and a hundred hours of community service, but at least you got Adrian Peterson.
  2. One league I participate in will be doing just that this weekend. It's the first I ever heard of that method and it seems like an awful lot trouble. But could be fun.
  3. For the most part I agree with what's been posted. It's pretty much dog eat dog, but most handcuffs aren't worthy starters, anyway. Tate might be a possible exception since I think he's a fairly capable back and Houston is pretty committed to the run. There are very few Priest Holmes/Larry Johnson situations in the league today.
  4. He couldn't keep ADP. In our league, you can't keep guys drafted in the first three rounds. He nabbed Peterson in round three. And you lose a draft pick one round higher than where he was selected. The guy who kept Martin selected him in the fourth, so he'll lose a third round pick. But since he's drafting third overall...he could potentially have some pretty powerhouse RBs. I'm losing a seventh for Ridley. Meh.
  5. A joke would be following you around on a Saturday night as you flit from one leather bar to the next, tooling out hand jobs to oily, fetid men in the hopes of receiving some paltry amount of financial remuneration so that you can use those funds to purchase cans of spray paint, dry-cleaning fluid, and epoxy to help fuel the inhalant addiction that allows you to escape, albeit momentarily, from the vapid, humorless life of anguish you've created for yourself. Cool. That makes sense.
  6. Yeah, Tate becomes a necessity. Which, as you said, kind of compounds the problem, because now you're forced to pick a guy higher than his value suggests in order to prevent other owners from poaching him. And if you're using--as you aptly stated--two picks for one, that could create deficiencies in other areas of your team. I don't know, Foster just seems like such a potential headache this year. Unfortunately, if facing that situation, I'm not sure I'll have many practical alternatives.
  7. Then who would you take? Again...it's a keeper league. Lynch, Martin, Spiller, and Morris are kept. If Peterson goes no. 1, Charles (if healthy) could go two. Someone could reach for Rice at three and Foster falls to me at four. Do I select him? If not, what are the other viable choices?
  8. Good topic. I've been mulling this over, too. In one of my leagues I draft fourth. It's a 12-team keeper league. PPR. Martin, Lynch, Morris, and Spiller are all kept. I assume ADP will go No. 1. Then it will probably be some order of Foster, Charles, and Rice. If Foster falls to me, I'm not sure what I'll do. If that were to happen, what do people think? Say the first three are Peterson, Charles, and Rice. Would you ever take McCoy over Foster?
  9. There's a little settings/gear icon immediately to the left of the search bar (it's right next to the message notification icon). Click on it. After doing so, you'll see a toolbar with the following options: "Personal," "Alerts," "Look and Feel," "Logo," and "Roster Display." Click on "Look and Feel." This section will have a variety of options arranged vertically. The option at the bottom of the list will be, "League Homepage View." That's CBS' new look. It is currently set to default. Change it to classic and click ok.
  10. They do. It's under, "League Homepage View." Just change "Default" to "Classic." I kind of like the new site look so far, but we'll see how it works over the season.
  11. Thanks. Although I should also point out (sorry for not mentioning this sooner), that two big-name QBs, Stafford and Cam, are also kept. Which essentially means if I pass on one of the elites, I'll have fewer options at that position, too. I'll also be keeping Bradshaw, Steve Smith, and Aaron Hernandez.
  12. My draft is tomorrow. I pick fifth in a 12-team keeper PPR league. Six points for all TDs. My issue is this...like many picking around my slot, I'm trying to determine if I should grab a QB (Brady, Brees), or a RB like C. Johnson. Here's what compounds the problem...there are A LOT of guys being kept. Current RB keepers include: Arian Foster, Ray Rice, Jamaal Charles, Marshawn Lynch, McFadden, Sproles, Bradshaw. I'm leaning towards QB...but if I do pick Brady or Bress (I think Rodgers will be gone), that means pretty slim pickings in the second round. I'd likely be stuck with someone like Fred Jackson or Steven Jackson as my No. 1 RB, unless I decide to roll the dice on Peterson or MJD. With that in mind...what should I do? Still pick QB, or am I going to be too depleted at the other positions?
  13. I'd do the initial trade. Marshall hasn't shown the numbers like he did in Denver, but with your WRs he wouldn't need to. I'm not all that high on Davis, and I think Graham is pretty solid, but I still think it's worth making the trade.
  14. Actually, Bradshaw was one that I was looking at. His owner had Peyton and then picked up Cam Newton. He could use the help at QB. He's also hurting at WR since he has Austin and Colston. Maclin and Romo for Bradshaw...seems mostly reasonable to me. What do other people think?
  15. My team has been decimated by injuries this year. I really don't have much hope of turning things around, but I feel if I have any chance, I'll need to make a trade. There are a couple of owners in my league who are thin at QB and one who's thin at QB and WR. I've been thinking about trying to package Maclin and Romo. Yeah, I know they're both dinged up (Romo more than Maclin), but I still think Maclin's going to put up good numbers, and he's definitely a go for this weekend. I need a decent RB since Jamaal Charles went down. What kind a player could I expect for Maclin and Romo in a PPR league?
