  1. Was offered a trade in my league today. It's a 2 QB league, non-PPR and we start 3 WRs as well. I currently have Stafford and Rivers as my QBs with Bortles on my bench (it's a keeper league and he was my last pick). My 3 WRs are Garcon, TY Hilton, and Michael Floyd. I've got 2 WRs on my bench in Reuben Randle and Brandin Cooks. I was offered a trade of Philip Rivers for Palmer and Maclin. This one has me thinking. I do believe that Rivers will have better numbers, but will they really be THAT much better than Palmers? Maclin allows me to have some more depth on my bench (though I would probably need to cut Randle to make room -- or I could cut Jeremy Hill or Devonta Freeman which I just wouldn't do. So then the question is, will Maclin be that much better than say Cooks or Randle to justify giving up Rivers for Palmer? This is a tough one.
  2. In all honesty there isn't much left at the QB spot in my league. EJ Manuel looks to be the only starter left on the waivers. I drafted Bortles with my last pick prior to DEF and Kicker in hopes that hes starting come week 9 as that's when Stafford has his bye and week 10 is when Rivers has his. I gotta hope these guys stay healthy all year.
  3. Thanks, I actually did just drop Clay and picked up Randle. Felt thin at WR, though it is deep on the waiver.
  4. This is a keeper league and I had the first pick in the draft. It's a 2 QB league, non-ppr. My keepers were Stafford, Martin, and Ball at the cost of my 2nd, 5th, and 9th rd picks. Here's my team post draft: QB: Stafford QB: Rivers RB: Forte RB: Ball WR: Garcon WR: Michael Floyd WR: TY Hilton TE: Greg Olson Flex: Doug Martin K: Tucker DEF: Carolina Bench: WR Brandin Cooks RB Devonta Freeman RB Ronnie Hillman TE Charles Clay QB Blake Bortles How's my team?
  5. Not at all. Drafting Forte would allow me to start Martin in the flex spot.
  6. Yeah that's my thought process in drafting Forte is to draft BPA. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't nuts leaving Megatron on the board when I already had 2 RBs and no WRs and I've got to start 3 WRs each week and I have no 2nd round pick to boot.
  7. I have the 1st pick in a keeper league I just joined (I took over the team that finished last 2 years in a row). It's a 2 QB league, NON-PPR, but pretty much standard scoring beyond that, 10 man league. As I mentioned, we start 2 QBs, 3 WRs, 2 RBs, 1 TE, 1 Flex (WR/RB/TE), K, and DEF. As far as my keeper's go, I kept Matt Stafford (at the cost of my 2nd), Doug Martin (at the cost of my 5th) and Montee Ball (at the cost of my 9th). Out of all of the available players in the draft, the best players left boil down to Matt Forte, Calvin Johnson, and Jimmy Graham (9 QBs have already been kept so no top QBs left). My inclination is to draft Matt Forte which may sound crazy because I already kept 2 RBs and Calvin is available. My reasoning is that WR is deep enough and with this not being a PPR league, I can fill my WR need later on in the draft and that by drafting Forte I'll have arguably 3 top RBs on my squad which can fill my 2 RB spots and Flex spot plus provides insurance in case Ball has a tough go of it as a result of not playing in the pre-season or Martin ends up terrible and injured like last year. With that said, knowing the keepers and the type of league, am I crazy for leaning towards Forte with that first pick as opposed to Calvin?
  8. Yeah that seems like the safest play.
  9. Yes we do need to keep 3. I don't have much love for Martin either as he burned me last year in another league. My only reservation with Welker is that it's non-PPR and Denver has a ton of weapons, though I have considered him. I could keep both Newton and Stafford which would cost me my 2nd and 3rd round picks along with Ball, but I just don't know about keeping 2 QBs. Between Newton and Stafford, I think Stafford would be the better guy to keep, but I just don't like that it'll cost me a 2. Newton has a lot of risk this year it seems. Hmm, now I'm really thinking on Welker -- Maybe keep Stafford, Welker, and Ball at a cost of my 2nd, 5th, and 9th?
  10. I'm taking over the team that has finished last 2 years in a row in a league I just joined and need some advice on who I should keep. It's a 10 man league and we keep 3 guys and the league is setup to where you start 2 QBs, 3 WRs, 2 RBs, 1 TE, 1 Flex (WR/RB/TE), Kicker, and a D. It is a NON-PPR league. In any event, here's the team I'm inheriting and what draft slot they take up: Matthew Stafford 2 Cam Newton 2 Reuben Randle 9 Hakeem Nicks 9 Frank Gore 2 Maurice Jones-Drew 9 Tony Gonzalez 7 Montee Ball 9 Wes Welker 5 Chris Ivory 9 Ben Roethlisberger 9 Doug Martin 5 Steven Hauschka 9 Cincinnati 9 Detroit 9 The most obvious choice on the list is Montee Ball for a 9th round pick(though his recent surgery hurts since he'll miss the pre-season). Now for the 2nd and 3rd keeps I'm not so sure. I've thought about Stafford, Newton, and Martin. I've leaned towards Stafford and Martin which would leave Newton out. It is a league where passing TDs are only 4 and rushing are 6 though which makes it tough to leave Newton out. I could theoretically keep both Stafford and Newton which would take up my 2nd and 3rd rd picks, but would they really be worth that? If I kept Martin and then Stafford, I could look to draft an early QB and then focus on WR/TE early as well.
  11. I'd def go with McFadden and Hawkins. I expect the Cowboys to be playing catch-up against the Ravens meaning Romo will need to air it out to his receivers. Sure, Oakland will be playing catch-up vs the Falcons, but McFadden will still remain a part of that offense as pretty much the best player they have. The Giants were able to throw and run pretty effectively and I would expect the Bengals to be able to have some success here meaning Hawkins has a shot at some catches and a score. AJ Green is still the man and I don't think Haden will be able to stop him, but Hawkins will get some looks.
  12. I never thought I'd consider benching Victor Cruz at all this season other than during his bye week, but with the Giants on the road against a stout D I'm considering it. I have Torrey Smith on my bench who was effective the 1 time I started him this year against Cleveland when Wayne had a bye and am considering putting him in for Cruz this week. Huddle seems to have Smith's projections pretty high this weekend too. In any event, it's a 10 team standard scoring league (4pts passing TD, 6 pts rushing TDs, no PPR). I'm undefeated at 5-0 so far in this league and would like to remain that way, haha. Would you sub Cruz for Smith this week? QB: Kevin Kolb (filling in for Cam Newton this week) RB: Lesean Mccoy RB: Marshawn Lynch WR: Victor Cruz WR: Reggie Wayne TE: Kyle Rudolph Flex: Reggie Bush D/ST: Rams K: Matt Bryant Bench: QB: Cam Newton WR: Antonio Brown TE: Aaron Hernandez WR: Torrey Smith D/ST: Packers TE: Martellus Bennett WR: Kenny Britt
  13. Thanks guys. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and bench Larry this week. It's really hard to do, but he will be playing up against a stingy Eagles secondary and Kolb isn't really the best option to get him the ball. AB and Jordy while not reaching paydirt yet, have been scoring well in PPR -- better than Larry atleast. I just can't see myself benching one of them since they've been consistent through 2 weeks. If Larry had a more favorable matchup it probably would be AB getting the bench. Thanks for the help!
  14. I'm trying to find a spot for Spiller in my starting line-up and am having difficulty. We are in an 8 Team PPR League and start QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, FLEX, FLEX, K, and DEF. Here's what I currently have: QB: Eli Manning WR: Larry Fitzgerald WR: Reggie Wayne RB: LeSean McCoy RB: MJD TE: Jimmy Graham Flex: Jordy Nelson Flex: Antonio Brown I have Spiller down on my bench and would like to get him involved somehow this week @ Cleveland. I basically see 2 choices....bench Larry Fitz (my 2nd round pick and he's been my weakest link) and move Jordy or Brown up to the WR spot and have Spiller Flexing. 2nd Choice is bench Antonio Brown for Spiller. Is it worth it to make one of these moves to get Spiller in? Any other moves to consider?
  15. I'm big on Collie. Colts are a pass first team, despite them running a lot against the Giants last Sunday. Collie has turned out to be one of Manning's favorite targets behind only Wayne and Clark. I had him last year as a rookie and have him this year as well. All he does is catch the ball just like Welker with fresh legs. Broncos have been passing the ball quite a bit and Orton has been efficient, but he isn't Manning. Houston laid the foundation for beating the Colts week 1 and that is to run the ball. I think they'll try that approach to keep Manning off of the field, which won't work. They'll eventually move to the pass, but with that receiving core, it'll be a different guy every week between Gaffney, Royal, Lloyd, and Thomas. It's a guessing game as to who will get the ball. You don't have to guess with the Colts. They'll pass to Wayne, Clark, and Collie and mix in some dump off passes to Addai and the occasional pass to Pierre to see if he can hang on to the ball. Collie is a safe bet not just this week but for the rest of the season in my opinion.
