I'm sitting here watching Anquan Boldin pick apart the Falcons, and wondering why Baltimore ever decided to let him go. And Indy cutting Payton Manning - and Payton going out the next year and having a record-breaking season? And New England trading Welker to the Broncos? Maybe not so earth shaking, but still... So I'm wondering what other cuts/trades since last season are turning out to have been big mistakes. Any suggestions?

I tried. Offered to trade for a WR. Nobody was interested

I'm playing him this week. Picked him up off the wire last week for Leonard Hankerson, and played him - glad I did. Then this week I traded Dwayne Bowe off for a badly-needed RB (Snelling) - I figure Gordon's got a lot more upside potential than Bowe ever will, so Bowe is out the door...

This really isn't Alex's fault. This is vintage Bowe. He's never been consistent. Ironically, with Smith at QB, maybe Bowe will finally start being consistent - consistently worthless.

I traded Bradshaw for Snelling as soon as they picked up Trent. That looked like a bad move after the SF game, but now maybe not so much...

I'm having RB problems - started with Spiller, S Jackson and Ahmad Bradshaw. Jackson's out, Spiller's a bust, and I traded out Ahmad for Bilal Powell when Indy picked up Richardson. After Spiller's week 3 bust I went looking for another RB, and picked up Snelling for the duration, until S Jacks is back - yes, I'm playing Snelling in place of Spiller. And I expect I will still be playing him or Bilal instead of Spiller once S Jacks is back. But I still need to keep Spiller as a backup because Snelling and Jacson both, of course, have the same bye - at least until after that week 7 bye. So - who to give up for Snelling? It came down to either Golden Tate or Dwayne Bowe. At this point, it's barely a coin toss between the two. Bowe supposedly has a lot of potential "upside" according to the pros, but I'm skeptical - Alex Smith is not going to all of a sudden start throwing a lot of long balls at Bowe, and Tate's outperformed him so far - and will likely keep doing at least as well going forward. Did I make the right move?

I finally gave up on Spiller. Picked up Snelling from the waiver wire and will play him, sit Spiller. I also have S Jacks, so will keep Snelling as a handcuff when S Jacks is back. Had to give up a WR though, to make room for Snelling. Traded off another supposed top player who I'm giving up on - Dwayne Bowe. Had to choose between him and Golden Tate - Tate's bye fit in better with my other WR's, so he's the one I kept. Wasn't a difficult decision anyway....

By now it's obvious Marrone was lying through his teeth when he said, in the pre-season, they were going to run Spiller "until he throws up." Of course it got all the other teams - as well as the Madden game - putting their focus on Spiller in the pre-game planning - which is certainly exactly what Marrone wanted. No, it's obvious they'rer running a committee at Buffalo, and it ain't gonna change. So I went out and picked up Jason Snelling off the waver wire and I'm running him instead of Spiller. My other back is Bilal Powell, who I picked up earlier to cover for Steven Jackson while he's hurt. I expect I'll still be running Powell instead of Spiller, as my other back, once Jackson is back on line.

No question about it. He knew the rules going in. Let hiim leave; no money back. If he also happens to be a close freind of yours, maybe your freindship needs to be reconsidered. It seems part of your problem may be what to do with the team if he leaves?

I like Alex Smith, but with him in the pocket, Bowe doesn't seem to be getting any love. I'm thinking of offering him in trade for a decent 3rd WR. Should I wait a little longer?

if the Niners let Smith go - if he becomes a free agent - he'll be able to go where he wants, won't he? Or will they still have a say?

I think Amendola has turned into the WR equivalent of Beanie Wells....

I've been starting over Eli for several weeks now - and I'm glad I decided to do so...
