  1. Of course their defense is going to give up a lot of passing yards when their offense always jumped to such huge leads all the time. I've never understood the Brady haters. He is a classy guy. My guess is that the Brady haters are just jealous of him. Classic inferiority complex.
  2. If he intended on paying I would be more likely to believe him. The fact that he is trying to weasel out of paying makes me think he is lying. Does your office have security cameras to verify his story?
  3. I don't see Manziel going high in the 1st round. He is only 6'1". And with all the quarterback talent, he may go lower than he would in other years. It wouldn't surprise me if a bunch of quaterbacks drop because of all of the talent in this years draft. Unless a team is really in love with a quarterback, I can see teams teams waiting until the 3rd or 4th round to draft a qb whereas if the talent were thinner, they'd have used a 1st or 2nd round pick.
  4. He had 1,325 yards receiving in 2002, which granted, was a long time ago. But he still put up decent numbers his last three full seasons. An average of about 70 catches for 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns over that 3 year span. I doubt he'll put up numbers like that again, but I can see him being a decent 2nd or 3rd receiver.
  5. Are you talking fantasy or NFL? You are talking about a receiver that has had one season of 1,200 yards, another season of 1,300 yards, plus two seasons of 10+ touchdowns. Is he perfect? No. But will he be on his best behavior? Yes,, of course. I'm not drafting him until the 9th or 10th round, but he is definately a starting caliber wide receiver in the NFL, if not a 2nd or even 1st receiver. He is old, but why judge him before he proves otherwise? This is reminescent of people who said Michael Vick would never play in the NFL again...............and there were many on this board who said he was done..............but not Waterman..................
  6. You´re probably right, but I don´t think I´d risk my $1,800 on "possibly". I´d wait a year or two to make sure that "possibly" was more than "probably".
  7. Being fantasy relevant and being a decent NFL receiver are two wholly different things. Fantasy football is not the real NFL. Dudes getting 60 catches with 800 yards and 6 touchdowns regularly get big contracts. Teams have 6 receivers, being even a number 3 receiver has a big impact on a team. Plaxico was more than that. He was a huge physical presence who the Giants wouldn´t have won the 2007-8 playoffs without. He can be a shell of his former self and still be a good addition to a team.
  8. One will be a pro-bowler, one will be average, one will be a bust. Not sure which will be which.
  9. I like big hits, but seeing a receiver get demolished when he doesn't even see it coming makes me cringe. It's the same as dudes who sucker punch people. It's somewhat cowardly. Football is inherently physical and brutal. The game shouldn't allow or promote cheap shots.
  10. True skill-wise maybe, but fantasy stat-wise he doesn´t put up that much greater of numbers. Last year he had 12 touchdowns, which was good, but had only 4 touchdowns in 2009. He had 76 catches last year, 68 catches in 2009, and 80 catches in 2008. All decent totals, but not numbers that make me want to take him in the first two rounds. I´d consider him mid 3rd round, but considering he´s being ranked a top-5 receiver, he'll be gone by the time I would take him. But I wouldn't mind Jennings, Reggie Wayne, Dwayne Bowe, or Calvin Johnson if they fall to mid 3rd round. Well, maybe not Bowe, he´s too risky. I see myself taking a qb in the 3rd round.
  11. The ironic part is that there aren´t as many truly elite receivers anymore. This can probably be chalked up to more 3 and 4 receiver sets. I could see an argument that only Andre Johnson and Roddy White are really elite going into this year´s fantasy draft. Receivers 3 through 12 aren´t really much better than receivers 13 through 28. With more and more people deciding to pick receivers earlier in fantasy drafts, this might be the year to zag when everyone else zigs. I see very good receiver value in rounds 6 and 7.
