  1. I am very high on Jamaal Charles this year even with TJ being there... He might be faster than Chris Johnson and is a threat to take it to the house anytime he touches the ball.... You could demand a 1st or 2nd round pick depending on current rosters...He is for sure a Top 20RB in Keeper and Dynasty Leagues....In KC offensive scheme he should get a fair share of those dump off passes making him more valuable in PPR leagues also.
  2. As Commish of 15 year old local league, I make Draft Sheets for all owners to track the live draft. We have it at a sports bar the league is named after. Anyone who drafts a player that has already been drafted buys the league a drink....Great times always....And we have a "Round Girl " in bikini and numbered cards to hold up between rounds....
  3. As a Die Hard Bears fan I think we got Julius Peppers in the 1st round and Chester Taylor in the 2nd round......LOL.....Not too shabby!!!!
  4. JiKana Carter...Lawrence Phillips...Most Detroit WR's drafted during Matt's GM days prior to Calvin...Ron Dayne was a disappointment given he was All-Time NCAA Div1 career rushing leader...not much thunder in the pros...IMO it has to be Ricky Williams who New Orleans traded an entire year's picks to trade up....Just my opinions on great debate subject...
  5. Wpob hits it on the head.... Grind out offense with a lead, Detroit plays catchup and will take away rushing opportunities for Smith. The only way I keep Smith over Grant is if it were a Keeper League!
  6. I drafted 10th in a 12 Team High Performance (Non-PPR) and got Andre and Calvin, (Fitz went at #8 and Moss at #11) my next picks went P. Thomas, McFadden, Wells, GATES, (Whitten drafted by Boy's fan the pick before Gates to start TE run.) Moreno followed by back to back QB picks Shaub and Hass. I was last team to take QB so was able to draft the rook RB's while everyone else was in their TE and QB runs. If my rookie RBs live up to the hype I should go deep into playoffs. (I also tend to draft on SOS weeks 14-16) My league was shocked cuz I usually draft RB-RB-WR, but not this year. I don't think you can go wrong having a late pick and going WR-WR. Good Luck!
  7. 12 Team Non-PPR Performance League with starting req of 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, K. D ALSO have flex option to start 1RB and 3WR. We implemented this flex option 2 years ago to combat RBBC, RB injuries and bye weeks. I draft 10th in a snake draft and am thinking WR/WR followed by RB/RB/RB. With the Top RB's taken off the board in the first round, I should be able to land Fitz and come back with another Top5 WR with the 15th overall pick and should be able to snag middle or lower tier RB's with upside like Pierre Thomas, Jamal Lewis, McFadden, Felix Jones or roll the dice on the coveted rookies that most likely contribute from the start like Wells, Brown and Greene. It sure looks formidable starting Lewis along with Fitz, Moss and WR3. I have always drafted min 5-6 RB's (16 Active with 2 IR positions) and have always taken RB/RB regardless of where I drafted. Just a different perspective. Please let me know your thoughts. Your input is appreciated. Thanks
  8. Our 12 team league went to a flex position 2 years ago as a means of combating the dreaded RBBC. We allow you to start 1 RB and 3 WR's as opposed to the norm 2 RB's and 2 WR's. We also have mandatory TE. Depending on your scoring system it seems to me that a QB will almost always be the top scoring position esp in performamnce leagues. Our flex position worked well when getting around RBBC, RB injuries and bye weeks. It also changed the dynamics of our draft. I draft 10th this year and am seriously considering 2 stud WR's with my 1st and 2nd round pick in our snake draft. Should be able to get my RB's in round 3 or 4..... Just a thought
  9. I think John Fox will exploit his dynamic duo and run against Denver all day, so Stewart is a must start. Thomas seems to be getting the carries but Duece will be back and it's against the Bears so I would go with Morris and Stewart. Please see my dillema!!
  10. I have both DeAngelo and Stewart along with Michael Turner. I am seriously thinking of benching Turner and playing both Carolina RBs against the porus Denver 26th ranked run defense. Would you do the same? High risk High reward using both.
  11. LT over AP in PPR League, but in a non PPR League I have to consider AP #1 cuz only weapon and great O-Line. They will stack 8 in the box to stop him and it still won't be enough. LT 's knee has to be a huge question mark. One that won't be answered until late training camp. Westy would might even outpoint AP in a PPR League.
  12. The only way you can gage and rank these guys from different eras and on Dynasty teams is the bottom line stats. Most yards, Td's, etc... you can't even go by the "what If's" like the Great Barry Sanders debate....the WR, RB, QB, can all be ranked by stats... Rice #1 WR...No Debate...Emmitt #1 RB....Can be no debate....Farve #1 QB...Again no debate... Gotta call em as they are... Pull out the stats regardless of other accolades like SB MVP etc.....Throw those out the window.... think Doug Williams here...great game , average career. Rank them all by their positions and stats....Nuff Said!!!
  13. I have LJ so I picked up Priest yesterday... Also took a flier on Mewelde Moore last week due to rumor mill .... Already had Bennett and Ernest Graham ... Should provide me with some RB depth after all the dust settles...Mewelde Moore could still be traded to Denver or Houston.
  14. Wrong Forum.... Sounds to me like he is looking for Fantasy Football Advice.... What Forum would you suggest he post this question?.... I like a Defense that is backed by a high potent Offense.... Most teams will be playing catchup, where turnovers happen at an alarming rate. Don't know your Defensive scoring system but with the Rams, Bills and Vikings on the agenda before their bye week could mean opportunities for Dallas D. Green Bay has a nice playoff run with the Raiders, Rams and Bears....All turnover prone teams.... I would have to give the nod to GB based on their better Pass D and playoff schedule.
  15. Standard Performance Scoring... I have been offered LJ and Javon Walker for M. Barber and Holt. I have S-Jax and Bulger and need to break up my Rams Trio for obvious reasons. I am sitting at 1-2, tied with several others in my division. Would you make this trade? I know Barber has been a stud, but I could have a nice 1-2 punch with S-Jax and LJ if they turn things around. Your input is appreciated.
