  1. I'm playing the division leader (8-4). I am up 116.5 to 102. He only has one player left, Ryan Mathews. Need him to s--- the bed!
  2. Honestly, the last 4-5 weeks I've been streaming the defense that plays the Colts. I haven't been disappointed yet.
  3. I could do that. I'm going to play DeMarco Murray regardless though, and it'd be either Gerhart or Ogbonnaya for the 2nd spot...Thoughts?
  4. So, like many others in the Fantasy Football world, I'm devastated by the loss of Adrian Peterson. I'm looking to the future and I'm trying to be prepared for this coming week's matchup. I have Ogbonnaya (got him a couple weeks ago, and has impressed me the last two weeks) and I could pick up Gerhart (AP's obvious backup). I'm not thinking that AP will be out for the rest of the season, but I need a solid backup for the rest of the regular season (fantasy, 2 weeks left). Both are stretches as playoff-bound replacements for my Adrian Peterson-sized gap, but I figured I'd look for some help on here. Ogbonnaya: Had a slow-start on Sunday, but ended up with 20 points in my league against a TOUGH Jaguars run-defense. Remaining schedule: Bengals*, Ravens*, Steelers**, Cardinals**, Ravens**, Steelers. Jesus...H...Christ. Gerhart: He's stuck around as Peterson's backup and he knows the gameplan. He's also sure to be a part of the passing attack of the Vikings. I'm worried about the Vikings O-Line and offensive production in general (if they're down, they don't run...). Remaining schedule: Falcons*, Broncos*, Lions**, Saints**, Redskins**, Bears. Bad, but not as bad as Ogbonnaya. *= Regular season in my league. **=Playoffs in my league. Thoughts?
  5. On the ESPN settings in my league, it specifically says "All points scored against the defense are accounted for." Is there a way to change that to only Offensive and Special Teams' scores?
  6. Hey guys, So I'm very active in my ESPN FF league and I wanted to get my league to change some things and thought I'd see what other arguments people could provide me with for/against my change-ideas. I'm not sensitive, so please tell me if my ideas are just radical/stupid/ or simply can't be done (due to restrictions). First off, I want to talk about the roster spots in my league. As you'll see in my sig, its a 12-team league and the roster breakdown is 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 D/ST, 1 K. Now, it's not that I hate this roster setup in all cases, but in a 12-team league, I hate it. The part I hate is the 3 WR set. I suggested to my league that we change 1 of the WR spots to a W/R. Some liked my idea and others said, let's just keep 3 WRs and add a flex spot. The whole reason I said to replace a WR with a flex is to create a little more balance to the league. My argument: Regardless of how "well" you draft, some teams are bound to have more RBs than WRs, and vice versa. I think with a flex (instead of 3 WR), this allows the teams with more WR options to use that slot as a WR and the teams with more RBs to use that slot as a RB. Our leagues points make RBs and WRs relatively even, I'd say, if not giving the WR a slight advantage with .5 pts for a reception. The next thing I want to talk (or rant, however you look at it) is the defense/ST scoring system. I know that defenses aren't as important to draft day, but they can be very vital to a win or loss in a regular season FF matchup. I think that under the normal scoring system, defenses are fairly irrelevant besides a positive matchup. I understand the reasoning behind using score as a determinant, but I think it is unfair in a way. I think a better measure of the defenses' performance is the yardage given up. Let's say there's a game between the Bills and the Pats (hypothetical) and I have the Bills D/ST and my opponent in fantasy has the Pats D/ST. The ending score is Pats 17, Bills 6. Now, if the Pats scores were all offensive, then they're bound to have a good amount of yardage against my defense and the yardage method of scoring still dictates how well I did. On the other hand, I know that if the Pats got a couple turnovers near the endzone, the score might not relate to the yardage given up by my defense. In this instance, I contemplated either softening the scoring scale (currently 0 PA: 10pts, 1-6 PA: 5 pts, 7-13: 3 pts, 14-17 PA: 1 pt, the rest become -1pts, -3 pts, -5 pts and -10 pts) and making the ranges go from 10 to 0, OR use a yardage allowed scale, OR use a system of both (not sure how that would work). My argument: I'm not saying all games have defensive scores, but let's go back to that Bills/Pats scenario again. Let's say 14 of the Pats points were Int/Fum return TDs. Those 14 points go against MY defense, even though my defense didn't allow the yards or the points that become of the Int/Fum. Another solution is making only offensive and ST's scores against your defense, but I don't know if ESPN has that option. Please people, I need some help with these two topics, because I want to make some changes for my league come next year. I appreciate any arguments/solutions for/against my points. Thanks in advance!
  7. I think that Battle, Moss and Thomas are all irrelevant. This is essentially a Megatron for SJax trade. Now, I don't think this trade is terrible, but I can see why they would veto this. The 4th place team is getting the #1 Fantasy Wideout and the 10th place team is getting a decent starter.
  8. Hmm, run against the Jets or run against the Chiefs... C'mon, no brainer. McGahee.
  9. Here's what I'm thinking. Turner: self-explanatory Sproles: regardless of PPR or not, he'll get a ton of total yards and/or a touchdown. He's too valuable not to start. Murray: I'd consider him a toss-up, but I like him and he's facing a soft run defense (Bills are ranked 20th in fantasy points given to RBs). Wallace: Even though Big Ben is liking Antonio Brown, I think you gotta trust the big play ability of Wallace. He puts up solid points every week. V. Jackson: Next to a healthy Gates, this is Rivers go to. In a non-PPR too, because he's bound to own 1 or more of Rivers' TDs in the game. Not to mention, he gets TDs on big plays usually (side note, faces a soft secondary, OAK is 22nd in fantasy points allowed to WRs). Since it's non-PPR, I'd say go with: Turner, Sproles, Murray, Wallace, and V. Jackson, in my opinion.
  10. Jeez, coin toss kinda. Helu is better coin toss in PPR leagues I'd say. But Dolphins D is stingy to opposing RBs (3rd in fantasy points given to RBs). Although he's been up and down, I think Battle might be a better option because the Broncos D is a little softed (15th in fantasy points given to RBs). If Cassel can get the ball to his receivers, they'll be playing with a lead...that's Battle's cue. Battle, in my opinion.
  11. Crabtree. He and Alex Smith and getting comfortable. Giants D is ranked 23rd in fantasy points given to WRs. He's gonna get a ton of looks. Although he may not get you the TD points (which he is due for), he makes up with receptions. Tolbert: Gotta think about Mathews. He gets goal line touches, but is risky in a PPR flex (at least with Crabtree in the mix) Helu: I just don't trust any Shanahan back anymore. At one point in the year, I had owned each of the RBs in Washington and started the wrong one each time. He does put up great numbers for a flex spot, but they face Miami. Although not a great team, their run defense is phenomenal (ranked 3rd in fantasy points given to RBs). His only upside is if he can get receptions, and I doubt he'll repeat the 14 rec 104 yds line again. Safe and sure play in my opinion, Crabtree.
  12. I'd say its between AJ Green and Brandon Marshall. I do like AJ Green and what they've done in Cincinnati, but I think the Steelers shut 'em down this week and show why they're going to be a scary playoff team. Pittsburgh is 3rd in fantasy points allowed to WR. Just look how he fared (and Dalton for that matter) against a better defense (Week 3 - against SF - 4 rec, 29 yds, 0 td). As for Brandon Marshall, the only reason I'd bench him is for the sake of being on one of the worst teams in the NFL and he drops a lot of passes. However, Matt Moore is starting to get a little bit comfortable and Marshall is one of the best in the biz when it comes to yards after the catch. Marshall faces the Redskins D (ranked 6th in fantasy points allowed to WRs) and they're really only scary cause of the pass rush. If Matt Moore can dump it off to Marshall short, or wait a bit in the pocket and air it out, Marshall is gonna get the numbers. Sit A.J. Green, in my opinion (hope the stats explain my reasoning)
  13. First off, I want to say that I've been a proponent of Cam Newton since the NFL Draft, so I'm a little bias in my response. He is not only a top-tier QB, but he plays like a #2 RB as well. That's where all his points come off of. I think that he wants Ray Rice for not only his rushing ability, but his abilities in the Ravens passing game (especially in a PPR league). I think either way you win if you get Newton. Ray Rice is a bigger loss to you though, because he's definitely more consistent than Steven Jackson (tacoty team, and he's always an injury risk with how hard he plays). Try to counter with S. Jackson, but if not, stay with Matty Ice and Ray Rice.
  14. Off topic, but in a 10-team Keeper Dynasty league, how the hell do you have this much talent!?!? Is no one else surprised by this roster?? Haha.
  15. I think you can afford to drop Jacoby Jones. Just as you say Austin Collie will be money with Manning back, J. Jones will be garbage when Andre Johnson comes back. And no one is standing up Battle in KC.
