  1. Kris, I take your point here, but like you say there is little option if you want people to be competing for a bigger prize. A salary cap game would still keep you interested in other games as you'd still want to know how the players you picked would perform? I play a number of fantasy games in the Uk all with different rules etc so if people prefer draft versions i'd expect some woudl still play this as well. I like being able to choose who i want to play, and would also liek players from my own team, however in draft games that power is takena way a little. I play the NFL fantasy game which is a draft game and really enjoyed it. Thanks for your feedback.
  2. Matt, i can totally relate to the media coverage the royal familt get... you think its bad in the US.....! I take the Eagles comment, there was a blog written on a UK website which compared Eagles fans to a football (soccer) team called Millwall, who are known for being a bunch of drunken thugs.... Either way Eagles it is for me! Thanks for the response, your feedback is much appreciated.
  3. Thanks for clarifying the OP point. I'm a little unsure about how you would suggest i went about getting advice/feedback on current users of fantasy football games? There's no junk here, i'm not trying to sell anything, i'm not askign anyone to sign up for anything. Just want to know what people like/dislike about the games they play. Thanks
  4. Pretty certain you couldn't afford a 25% stake! I genuinely thought i'd get some sensible replies on this, but i've received more junk then anything. Luckily my market research is already over 100+ fantasy users and the 4 or 5 who like yourself are not even interested in helping set up a game you supposedly love and are experts at are an embarrasment.
  5. I have plenty of knowledge in fantasy games... just clearly not a case that went wrong. Its not like i'm setting this business up today or tomorrow. I'd need to do months and months of research which is why i stupidly thought to come on this forum. Me wanting to know what fantasy games people play, what their likes and dislikes are has resulted in very little information, which is fine, just guess i thought people would be keen to help. In your case i clearly got this wrong. I'm guessing you have no idea about business either... I at no point have suggested this would be an instant success, but obviously thats what i'm aiming to do. Opinion of users is just one step of many to get a business started.
  6. I'm not contemplating i have the expertise... i know i could make something out of any business venture i decided to focus on. Anyone can start a business in anything, the main thing is to do all your research which is exactly what i'm doing. I did not know about WCOFF but i do play over 10 fantasy games a season and know what i think i can do better. My lack of familiarity will be covered this weekend when i read about this case. I've been reading for months and not seen this so what...? I imagine alot of succesful businessestarted with the founder not having much experience and having to do research.. standard knowledge of setting up a business. I'll get working on the photo, sounds a little camp you wanting a picture of a guy you don't know, but each to their own.....
  7. This is highly unlikely and could happen in ANY fantasy game. The chances of someone picking the best team over the course of a season based on no knowledge should never beat someone who know's what they are doing unless they are extremely lucky. Even on draft games you could luckily draft someone based on a name you like and it ends up being someone very good. If someone with so called knowledge of fantasy football lost to someone simply picking names they liked i'd suggest that person has very little knowledge. I am also planning to incorporate a few added features which would make this alot more unlikely as well.
  8. Thanks for your comment, very insightful.
  9. I totally get the trust point of view, but does that mean you will not let me know any thoguhts about the current fantasy football games you play what is good or bad? I'm not looking for anyone to sign up just looking for some market research. In theory you don't know anyone other than people you actually see, but obviously you post things on this forum and also play other fantasy games with companies you don't actually know personally.
  10. I was not aware of this case, but i will check it out and see what i can learn from WCOFF's mistakes. Not sure what guarentees i can make but again i'll look into it. I'm not sure what OP means as i am new to this sort of thing. Can't say that it would matter whether i was in America or not, guess I just need to work on the security side. Do you have any other feedback about your experience with existing fantast games available? Any feedback would be much appreciated.
  11. Firstly thanks for your response. I am not looking to to scam anyone let alone Americans. I would be allowing people in UK to play as well so if i'm scamming i'll be doing it with my lot as well...i may even open it up to Nigerians to give them some pay back for the amount of times someone's offered me $5000 for an old mobile on ebay!!! The feedback in your post is still helpful, there must be some way of guarenteeing funds etc. I work in Banking so will check this out. I appreciate you may think i'm a scam artist but i really am not, I am literally trying to work out what you as a fantasy football player look for in a game. Security is clearly high on the list. I am not aware of the case mention in other replies so will look this up. Anymore feedback you are happy to provide would be much appreciated. Kind regards
  12. Cunning Runt, I think i can cover off both these options on my site which is fine. Can you provide any other feedback on why you play the current fantasy games you do play, and what you like/disliek about them?
  13. Patriots, Thanks for your comments. I guess i'm sort of in the middle where if i charge less for a game more people might use it, this would allow me to atttract more advertisers etc. Although winning the overall prize is difficult, i plan to make $10,000 available to each weekly winner, plus you could set up your own mini meagues with its own prize fund which is decided by the users. That would cover off the above point. I could easily set up an option for people to set up their own $500 loeague with 100% of funds going to the prize. At the same time you would be in the main game as well even without having to do anything extra.
  14. Hi Guys, I am based in the UK and this is my first post on any forum ever!! I am also an Eagles fan and love NFL (although due to time differences can not watch as much as i'd like). I am planning on releasing a new fantasy football game in the American market and would really appreciate some information about why you currently play the fantasy games you do, what is good about these games and more importantly what would you change. The game would be a salary based game, but with a few different aspects currently not available in other games i've seen. The main areas i'm looking at are how important you rate the following areas: 1 - Prize money availble 2 - Type of game (i am looking into a salary cap type game) 3 - News Feeds 4 - Quality of Website 5 - Because you friends play in that league 6 - Mini League options I am hoping to be able to offer the highest fantasy prize by some distance but it will require a minimum of 150,000 users. There will be various mini league options available, plus i am aiming to allow the game to run all the way to the superbowl. There would be a fee of around $9.99 to play (per season), but this would automatically enter you into the possibility to win a number of prizes (hopefully $1m for the overall winner plus $10k per week for the person with an individual best score that week). Any help/advice/tips would be much appreciated.
