  1. Next question: when does he start? Does he get one week to watch Boller suck it up against the Chiefs, learn the system, get acclimated, find out where he and his brother can buy matching Little Lord Fauntleroy suits & big swirly colored lollipops in the Bay Area, etc...?

Nice We rolled, too, mostly behind Welker, Vick & Tolbert, a little Mike Wallace, not a lot from AP. Lost high score of the week by .60 pts I now look forward to going 0-10 rest of the way.

How'd everyone do in week one?
  4. ROTOWORLD: Mike Tolbert brushed off the knee injury he suffered late in Sunday's win over the Vikings. "Just a part of football," said Tolbert. "Put a little dirt on it and go on." Tolbert is a legit tough guy, even playing the wedge on kickoffs. He's a good bet to play through the pain as long as a Monday MRI reveals a bruise or minor sprain.

Great seeing some Huddlers at the start of FFPC this morning. Hope you all kicked ass at your drafts! Good luck, gents.
  6. Riiiight. And that's why I'm playing in the FFPC this year, Wiegie. Well played, though . . .
  7. Thanks, KO...appreciate the 2 copy purchase. Yeah, that was a fun podcast. Though I reached that point where I was like, "Man, even I'm noticing that I'm not letting them get in a word edgewise"...normally, it's the hosts who wont shut the f*ck up and the guest who has to fight for airtime.
  8. BB, for some odd reason, this description made me laugh so f*cking hard, literally spit a little sausage pizza out onto my keyboard.
  9. Totally agree. We'll see how it pans out, if it pans out.
  10. Az -- because, honestly, I'm too stupid to know what 'straight to attorney escrow' meant in the scheme of a fantasy football league payment. SEC -- reason I haven't written anything on this is because I'm not a journalist. I've written a few freelance pieces for the NY Times, blogged there on Fantasy/NFL, wrote a goofy column for Rotoworld, etc...but I'm not Woodward OR Bernstein, and only wanted my money back. And if I'm somehow "complicit" -- which is hilariously Oliver Stone-meets- of you -- I want a damn lot more than a refund of my own $2,150.
  11. I don't pretend to think that I have the kind of influence or reach as most writers out there -- I didn't have a Food, Inc.-esque expose ready for the Times or anything -- but still, two grand is two grand, and I needed it back, so I did feel it necessary to remind them that I'd always been an ally of and "friend" to the WCOFF for a long time, whether it be in articles or my book, and I'd imagine they took that into consideration. And bpwallace, I like that book title....trademarking as we speak
  12. It was...Scott (FPA) saw me tweet a little while back that I'd signed up for WCOFF 2011 and shot me a note asking if I'd heard about their issues. I had by that point, but appreciated his checking. We emailed back and forth a bit, I explained my situation, and my general dialogue with Dustin & WCOFF, which had consisted of a voicemail and a few texts about my entry fee, etc.. Again, in fairness to him, my experience with Dustin -- at WCOFF, interviewing him for a story, whatever -- has always been very professional and courteous, including this instance where I requested my entry $ be refunded and he & Jill processed fairly quickly. That said, I do agree with Scott's post that WCOFF probably shouldn't be accepting entry $ on their site at all considering their current issues, and they need to complete this ownership transition so people can see what that really means for them in terms of payments, the league moving forward, etc.. And though "moving forward" sounds funny about now, I do really hope WCOFF can right the ship even amidst this f'n giant financial mess and get back on its feet, because, IMO, it was always the biggest/first/best high-stakes league out there, and might be again if this ownership transition thing works out. Maybe, if they take a year off, get their sh*t together, and come back strong for 2012, it'll be like when Garp was house-hunting and the plane flew into the side of the house....and he bought it anyway. Why? Because the chances of it happening again were astronomical. It'd been "pre-disastered." So maybe -- strange as this sounds -- WCOFF will come back even better in 2012? Or, maybe they'll never re-gain our trust and patronage after this? Who knows. But like all of you, I'm still watching it very closely and curiously....and, weirdly, I'm actually still pulling for them. Call me crazy or stupidly loyal or whatever. Bottom line, I really hope everyone who's owed money gets it, and we can all get back to Vegas in some way, shape or form, assuming the owners don't f*ck us over and kill the entire season.
