  1. What service! Thank you. RR
  2. On the front page when player reankings are updated, the link says "Player Rankings & Cheat Sheets UPDATED! " Could the DATE of the update also be included. I keep getting "tricked" thinking that new updates have been posted, but they are ones that I have already viewed. Thanks, RR
  3. Aw...them new fangled 'puters agin...I remember the days when people used to actually TALK to each other! <G> RR PS. I do like not having to do the stats by hand from USA Today, however! Could be why I'm still married.
  4. Don’t like worst-to-first or blind bidding. For the last ten years, we have used a unique Drop/Add process. A random schedule is generated before the season. (Done by using a 12-sided dice roll.) Each team is given at least one Transaction Night where he/she performs the duties of "Transaction Agent". The Transaction Agent may make up to two Drop/Adds before any other teams call in. After that, as per the posted schedule, each week during the regular season, any team may waive up to two players on its team and claim replacement players from the free agent pool during the Claiming Period. (Each claim costs $2.) The Claiming Period is from 7PM to 9PM on Thursday Nights. (If there is a Thursday Night game, then Transaction Night is moved to Wednesday night.) Week 1: Team A is TA and makes their moves prior to 7PM Team B is next and must call in between 7 - 7:10 Team C must call between 7:10 - 7:20 Team D must call between 7:20 - 7:30 and so on… Week 2: Team C is TA and makes their moves prior to 7PM Team A is next and must call in between 7 - 7:10 Team D must call between 7:10 - 7:20 Team B must call between 7:20 - 7:30 and so on… Week 3: Team B is TA and makes their moves prior to 7PM Team D is next and must call in between 7 - 7:10 Team A must call between 7:10 - 7:20 Team C must call between 7:20 - 7:30 and so on… Week 4: Team D is TA and makes their moves prior to 7PM Team C is next and must call in between 7 - 7:10 Team B must call between 7:10 - 7:20 Team A must call between 7:20 - 7:30 and so on… Every team has at least one night as TA and one night in every other slot. In a 12 team league, the first team (Team A) repeats as TA in Week 13 and the Commissioner handles playoff transactions. Any waived player immediately becomes a Free Agent, and is immediately available to be claimed by the next caller. No previous callers may call back until the end of the night. The Transactions Agent must announce all transactions that they have logged to all callers that wish that information. The last half hour of The Claiming Period each week will be an "Open Claiming Period" where teams may continue to make "Waive/Claim" transactions. This is done on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to the two player “claim” limit. Teams MUST call during their scheduled time or during the Open Period. After the TA duties are complete, the TA emails or calls The Commissioner with the results and then the Commissioner will submit all "Waive/Claims" to the league management service in use that year. No other drop/Adds may be made until the next Transaction Night, but trades may be executed at any time. Benefits? Every owner stays involved in the process. When you are the TA, it is virtually guaranteed that you will speak to every owner that week. Trash talk…trade talk…it’s all there. Outside of the draft, your TA week is the best week of the season! Luck? When LT goes down the Sunday before your week, you are right there to pick up Turner if he’s available. Something like that can turn your season around…and why should the last place team be rewarded like that? RR

And if you want to keep that new computer backed up regularly, True Image 10 by Acronis is an awesome backup / imaging application. (Can also use it to quickly move the data from old to new. RR

    24...

Add to all above the "lame" Cisco conference with the Russians simply there to promote the Cisco technology we would see soon after in a commercial. Pathetic! And how is it that CTU HQ can be so cutting edge technology-wise, but when Audrey and Jack escape to Room 237 (or some such), it looks like they're in a parking garage. What purpose does such a room have...and why was there an electronic lock on the door? And oh yeah, what exctly is an "Entry Team"? They have people waiting around to break into rooms when rogue agents lock them from the inside? This show lives on Jack opening up a can of whoop-ass each week...none to be had in this episode. This season has had a few good episodes...last night wasn't one. RR
  7. Just out of curiousity, had Dallas matched the original offer sheet, would it have been a done deal...or does Fowler just get to go out and negotiate some more? Seems like a very strange process. I shook my head when I saw that Tennessee sort of swiped him away from Philly. (Is T.O's former agent involves in this somehow?) RR
  8. ...or he will go to Tennessee. http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/TEN/10057068 RR

  10. Beta tested Vista since last summer. As of beginning of this month, I finally have a stable o/s that runs all my apps correctly...including some stubborn ones like Nero and Canon print drivers. It was a pain, but it's hard to justify getting a new PC today and NOT getting Vista on it. Microsoft will start treating XP as the poor stepchild and in two years, you'll feel like it's Windows 98 and everything you buy will require Vista. Disable UAC if you have any application installation problems, install your app(s) as administrator, then, if you feel the need re-enable UAC. (From Control Panel-User Accounts-UAC) I don't like the nagging, so I turned it off and kept it off. I also like Office 2007's interface better. Haven't found that I've lost any functionality as DMD has. It shouldn't have been this hard to transition to a new o/s, but it was...and thinking back, NT Workstation or 98 to 2000 or to XP was often no picnic either. But, we all know and love(?) XP today, don't we? RR
  11. Check out this web site for buying and leasing tips. I bought my Acura on NYE in 2001 and got a great deal. http://www.carbuyingtips.com/ RR
  12. If you want the cell phone equivalent to thehuddle.com, try http://www.howardforums.com They have great info on phones, companies, and plans. RR
  13. We have an Invisible Fence that we no longer use. Had to get a real fence because of the pool. Was going to Ebay it, but you can PM if you are interested. For one of our dogs, it worked really well. When the other one wanted to run, she would just run though it and take the shock. It depends on the dog(s) and how well you train them as to how well it works. RR
  14. FYI- Always chat and be pleasant with the Disney Cast Members (what Disney calls its staff) no matter what. We have gotten numerous upgrades and perks with even asking. They have the ability to make a guest's experience "magical" and will often try very hard to do so. My daughter and I stayed at Coronado Springs last November (Mom had no vacation days left) and our room overlooked the parking lot...no big deal as we were rarely going to be in it anyway. But, they had given us one king bed instead of two double beds as asked for. Went back up to the desk clerk that had assigned our room and nicely explained the problem...Voila! Two double beds in a Junior Suite with the best view of the lake on the property! Turns out, I looked at my reservation and it was my mistake. I hadn't noticed that I had chosen king when I made the reservation. She could have argued with me, but instead without hesitation, upgraded me to a Junior Suite at no additional charge...and apologized for the mix-up. BTW...The "Moderate" Coronado Springs was a real cut above the "Value" All Star Resorts and it wasn't that much more. It is a big property, but you can flag down a passing Cast Member on a golf cart and they will take you to the lobby (or back to your room). It also has an amazing swimming area that is themed around an archeological "dig" site. Very cool! It has both a sit down restaurant as well as a "food court" that has many choices. My daughter was very impressed. RR
  15. We took our daughter at age 5, at age 10, and again last year at age 15. She had the most fun at age 10...WE had the most fun with her last year at age 15! She was not as awestruck, but dragged us around to all the rides and shows she wanted to see. FYI--Don't forget to check out mousesavers.com for some great tips and ways to save money at the Mouse Parks. RR
